Solar Panels Blog 1

Despite what people might believe, these days solar panels have been perfected over the years and scientists all over the world have made enormous contributions in terms of efficiency and reliability. Hence, considering the acquisition of solar panels to run your own house or construction is becoming a reasonable alternative. Obviously, the purpose of it would be primarily to save a considerable amount of money on a long-term basis. However, we also have to realize this constant use of petrol, by which we depend, is by now intolerable. A radical change is necessary, not only for the environment, but especially because of a scarcity of petrol in the world.

Othello blog one

This is my second blog as shown above. I am suppose to report various things such as the work ny groupo abnd i have produced, how the project is coming along, and explaining the different themes and how i am able to get in depth wiht them.

 TO start off i am holding my group behind, but they are not letting me fall to far behind and are making sure i catch up. I dont have a computer so i cannot fufill all of the requirements but they are helping me out. I think that today we will make great use of the Workshop period of our class, this way i will be able to catch up, even get ahead of shedule. Today ihope to post all my lines on gogole documents and begin filming or continue making the script.

THe group is doing well. Ofcourse we are goofing off a little bit but we are getting our work done at a steady pace. We have great chemistry all around. I have gotten to leanr more about khari shawn and lewam. I am also able to consentraite very well in this group, despite the hilarious jokes that are told.

 It is a little bit harder for me to understand the loyalty theme we are explaining. THe only thing i have noticed is that people can have three faces. One with their own intents, A face of appearence shown to others, and a face of sleflessness. Some peope have all these faces, some only have one. TO me it seems that Iago is coniving, yet clever, and knowing this can help me minupulate or understand how some people whom do such acts apear. This book is helping me understand more baout certain human natures.

Biodiesel

In the biodiesel reaction project at Science Leadership Academy we are creating a video explianing out process and what our engineering class does. Some of the activities i have taken part in with the biodisel project consists of, caulking, cutting sheet metal, mesurements, and brianstorming different ideas. With the combind minds minds of the two advance engineering classes we were able to find correct mesurments, flow rates and build a proto type of what will be an inexpensive flow process to create biodeisel. We hope to paten this plan and procedure, and introduce it to farrmers and hopefully the public only at the cost of which is used to produse the fuel rather than making a profit.

The group’s progress is a moderate speed. We have now actually begun to gain more speed in out work. On my behave I acknowledge that I have held back the group in certain aspects. I don’t have a computer therefore; completing my work out of my environment seems to serve me as a difficulty. I have learned to cope with the loss of this necessity and continue to do my work at home. We are now picking up and are completing work on time.

I usually like to work alone, but this is the group project. We have done very well on our work group wise, we are able to assign objectives and execute them efficiently. Our group also has great chemistry, we have Kari, Shawn, Liam, and I. Shawn and khaki have great chemistry and are also very funny together, but with this aspect they also get their work done, and even ahead at times. I have chemistry with khaki and share some of the same aspects as him and Shawn. Lewam is a great asset to the group because she is able to assign and negotiate what to do given the situation.

First blog post

My group is working well together so far. We have gotten most of the lines put up on our google doc or will soon. Communication in the group has been efficient as well for the most part. There's a lack of communication between one group member, but I believe that has/will be worked out. Though, there has been some problems with the google doc. Two group members for some reason can't gain access to editing the doc. One of these two group members can't even use google docs. So to constitute for that handicap, they are just going to moodle message their information to me and I'll be fowarding it to google docs. I'm pretty sure we finished all needed work so far. We've decided that the most effective way to exert our lines is by making a podcast rather than preforming. We don't seem to have any problems so far other than the difficulties with adding collaborators to the google doc.

So far I have noticed how evil Iago honestly is. Of course I saw before that he was evil, but it took a double look to realize how evil he was. I felt this impact when I reread the part where Iago tells Roderigo to stab Cassio. But then Iago ends up taking credit for finding the coward Roderigo and kills him. All the while making himself seem like some noble, honest man in front of Lodevico.

Making Biodiesel

    In our Advanced Engineering class, our teacher Mr. Van Kouwenberg had assigned us to make biodiesel. We had to draw up the blueprints, find materials, build the model, register for a patent on the design, and finally make the biodiesel using our design. We began building the biodiesel during November 2007. Mr. VK (Van Kouwenberg) split our class up into groups and assigned each group an area of the model to work on. My partner Mithun and I worked on the settling tanks. Cutting out the shape, molding the pieces to fit together, connecting the funnel to the bottom and such. Mithun and I did this for both for the large settling tanks and worked partially on the methanoic acid tank.

    We began this project so that cheaper, efficient, and cleaner fuel would be available to the world. This design would especially benifit South and Central America and developing countries.

THE AMAZING ENGLISH CLASS!

Currently we have begun the 4th quarter and have begun to read the play Othello. Of course in your typical English class consists of reading, writing and understanding the differences between our languages compared Shakespeare’s writing. This class has all of the requirements for English, but we have been provided with something extra. The little spice in your food, or should I say, the little POP in your Pop rocks. The extra ingredient brewing in this stew of students and learning is Mr. Chase.

            Mr. Chase is an energetic teacher that takes the aspects and view of our modern eye. (Though he isn’t that old anyway) We are now reading the play Othello as stated before. Within the book we received there is a modern interpretations and definitions of the words within it. I have not found a problem with any of the reading; actually I rarely use the modern definitions. Continuing on point, Mr. Chase is able to break this down. We have class activities that require group work and different interpretations and perspectives of your teammates to draw conclusions of the text, the characters tone of voice with in the text, and the character’s personalities.

Act 1 Scene 1

Act 1 Scene 1

In this scene one there is an introduction of 6 characters. Roderigo, Iago, Brababtio, Othello and Desdemona. Othello is a man of great accomplishments and Iago wishes for a position second to his. Othello Promotes a man named Cassio, which enrages Iago. Iago's character is displayed as someone who wishes for revenge against Othello. HE talks with Roderigo about how he has served as a knave. Roderigo goes along with Iago's story and somewhat understands him. To Compromise Othello they go to Desdemona's Fathers quarter. Desdemona and Othello are deeply in love, but the factor that separates them form society is that Othello is black and Desdemona is white. Branatio is Desdemona's father. Roderigo and Iago yell for him, he replies not to be disrupted by low lives. They ensure that this is no what they are and they have come for his benefit no his own. He listens. They explain what his daughter has been doing and how a black man is mounting his innocent daughter. The father denies so. They tell him to check her quarters; she is not to be found. He falls into belief of the two and Iago exits (to not be caught).

A.S.A.P.

     The organization  is a program the helps kids in the community learn that there is something that they can do to better themselves. The program is called A.S.A.P. (After School Activities Program) it is one of the many programs that creates a place in philadelphia for students to go after schoo where you might actually have fun. The mission of the program is "A little time makes a big diffence". I help with homework so that kids do not drop out of school becaus ethey think that they will never understand. I would say that you don't need many skills but the one skill that would be needed is patience.

Animal abuse is a huge problem on a National scale and should get the deserved recognition as child abuse does. In a local study according to Helping Animals 88% of 57 New Jersey families being charged for child abuse have also abused the domestic animals that live in that household. Here is some information that shows a correlation between physically and sexually abused kids and how they happen to treat domestic animals: Is it fair that child abuse is so much more heavily publicized than domestic animal abuse.

An unpublished study by Frank Ascione of Utah State University found a strong pattern suggesting that child abuse victims are more likely to harm animals. Ascione found that 25.5 % of physically abused children were cruel to animals, 13.2 %of sexually abused children were cruel to animals, and 34 % of both physically and sexually abused children were cruel to animals.

According to the information above and the more surplus of information listed at Helping Animals they claim that animal abuse is detected earlier than child abuse. These speculations make others and myself pose some interesting questions. Why isn’t animal abuse taken as serious or publicized as much as chills abuse whether they are physically, sexually, or mentally abused. You have to realize the facts that animal’s function just as we do. For instance an animal owners stops feeding him the animal has a regular reaction and begins to show he is unhealthy because he is rather skinny. The same would apply if a child’s parent stops feeding him/her. I understand that we are pretty much inferior to domestic animals but it is so ignorant if I must say to neglect the publication of the same issue with different species. “Animal abuse is often discovered earlier than child or domestic abuse because it so often occurs in plain view.” When they refer to plain view they are basically saying that animals do not have the capabilities to hide abuse as humans do. Humans do this naturally is this is why often times animal abuse is detected more than child abuse. Studies show that about 80% of animal abuse cases are not made public and about 60% of cruel and inhumane actions towards humans are publicized in some way. These statistics suggest staggering implications and still have me raise the question. Why isn’t animal abuse nearly as publicized as child abuse?

Blog Post 6

I was reading an article title, "Missippi House Approves Anti-Abortion Bill at this website:http://www.feminist.org/news/newsbyte/uswirestory.asp?id=10912.  This site mentions that in Missippi acouple of weeks ago, approved an anti-abortion bill that would further restrict abortions in the Missippi, which would  possibly violate federal privacy laws.  Most of tyhe members said that they did not fully understand the what they were voting for when they voted to approve it.

The Missippi Senate mentioned the changes that this vote would do which included provision to allow parents or guardians to sue anyone who helps their pregnant minor get an abortion, and require fetal tissue on abortions performed on minors inder fourteen years old whic would save them from DNA testing in order to identify the father.Tom Head, secretary of the Mississippi chapter of the NOW, said the measure could endanger the lives of pregnant minors by "denying them confidential access to medical care." Head stated, "I can understand the efforts to try to reduce the number of abortions, but this would threaten lives."

Reflective Post 3

Well, this project has been in process for a long time now and I have done a lot of research on this same topic and to be honest, if I never hear the word abortion again in my life, I would be such a happy child.  I had no clue that one reserch project would make a someone such a sad person.  This project has been taking over my life.  I have never done a project in my life that included so much work.  How could one expect someone to complete this work and stay on top of about five other classes that has just as much work.  This is the kind of stuff that makes a teenager want to drop out.

The reasearch came a little easier after a while, however all the other work isn't coming as fast.  Every time I turn around, there's another hundred assignments waiting for me.  I push myself every day to get up and go to school for stuff like this.  I don't even thinks it's worth it anymore.

Reflective Post 4

When it comes to this project my mind was changed cause originally I though this project would be really hard but what i have come to realize is that when I put my mind into doing something it gets done. I have to say that if you take the time to do this project it will be finished. Like in the beginning the blog post were hard but  when i actually started to take my time and write them and finish them like they were suppose to be done i was getting Ok grades on them. I think thus project is one of the few project that can teach not only high-school lessons but Life lessons to. I understand the possibility of us really changing the world and I know it is small and before i would not have said this but now i must say i am happy to be apart of an activity such as this one.

Refelctive post 4

I am almost through the project and i am happy that i have not fallen behind on it, except for the fact i have not complete my elevator pitch. I am happy that i am not in the predicterment to which i must make up a ton of work, when instead it is only one thing.

 Mr.Chase has taught me some of the symptoms of writeing constantly on a certain topic. THe biggest consisting of the use of all the information you have whithin the posts. THe solution to this problem for me was that Mr.Chase let me know ahead of time. THis was y iwas able to divde my work evenly thoughout the project. I held back some of the information i have learned and instead of putting it into one post i was able to put it into two, therefore it was not as much as an obstical as assume.

 One unique aspect in my topic is that it contains 2 topics, and i am not trying to totally sway people into a descion. I am just trying to provide some information so that if they every come upon a situation simalar to what i am providing information about to maybe try my solution. So I have run into the situation of running out of information, but since i have a second topic i am able to learn more about it, and provide more information, resulting in me not running out of information.

HUNGER

Philadelphia is the 5th largest city in the U.S.  Much kind of divers of people lives in Philadelphia. Health in Philadelphia needs a lot of attention than the other cities in the U.S.  According to the article of healthy Philadelphia, "Philadelphia has low berth with rate and African American woman have higher death rates for heart disease and other kind of disease." Everything that is going on in Philadelphia contributes to the hunger in Philadelphia. Perhaps crime and drugs could be one of the thing that effecting Philadelphia from solving food insecurity in Philadelphia.

    According The Paradox of Obesity and Hunger  “Households without money to buy enough food often have to rely on cheaper, high calorie foods to cope with limited money for food and stave off hunger” providing food stamp may help kids in Philadelphia to have a balance.

Abortion v.s Stem cell Research

I’m sitting here in my house in my PJ’s wonder what I should do. I have math to do but I feel as if it is too early to comprehend equations for task 2 on my benchmark. I’m caught up and relatively ahead in History and biochemistry. So then it popped into my wind as if a certain man has swung a hammer and destroyed a watermelon.  I have to finish up my blog posts for English. Two of them were do YESTERDAY! So I have grabbed my unique White Apple and began to take a bite to consume some thirst quenching knowledge.
(Mr. Chase if you are reading this I’m guessing that I should right like this some more. Lol.)
    Anyhow, I have completed my first blog post that I have had to make up which was BLog post 7. I have begun to write about the subtopic of Abortion because my main topic is Stem-cell Research vs. Abortion. Now I have posted some material I have read in the other blogs but I still feel as if I haven’t grasp the actual fundamental of knowledge required to create my project including abortion, therefore I am going to refresh my memory along with your with some basics of abortion.

This webpage displays the various facts, effect and description of an abortion. One thing that must be addressed are the risks in which are presented during an abortion. Here is some form this webpage. Risks    Return to top

Risks of surgical abortion include:

    * Excessive bleeding
    * Infection of the uterus or fallopian tubes
    * Damage to the uterus or cervix
    * Emotional or psychological distress

The risks of surgical abortion increase, as a woman gets further along in her pregnancy. That's why it's important to make a decision about abortion as early as possible, when the procedure is safest.

Risks of medical (non-surgical) abortion include:

    * Prolonged bleeding
    * Fetus not passing completely from body, making surgery necessary
    * Nausea
    * Vomiting
    * Diarrhea
    * Pain

The risks for any anesthesia are:

    * Reactions to medications
    * Problems breathing

The risks for any surgery are:

    * Bleeding
    * Infection

There is also more information as to the reason people get abortions, how some are performed, who they can be done at, the after effects of it and definition of Abortion which is: “An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy by removing the fetus and placenta from the mother's womb.

There are many forms of abortion -- sometimes an abortion occurs on its own (spontaneously), and other times a woman chooses (elects) to end the pregnancy.”

Blog 7 Abortion

In this blog I am going to list various facts and statistics about abortion. The first set are from a website called http://www.guttmacher.org and this link will take you to the Induced Abortions page of the website. These facts were posed in January 2008, which would mean that is has some of the most recent evidence and facts. This Page was created by the Guttmacher institute and it has taken information and have cited them at the bottom of their page, which is what the numbers at the end of the sentences refer to.

This cites carries a lot of information regarding abortion, but the information I am looking for today has to do with the law and policies of abortion. Lucky me I happened to find a section within the page that I have hyperlinked. This is taken straight from the page so that you do not have to wait for that page to load up, unless u wants to take a look at more of the information they provide. Below is a brief history of the regulations for Stem-cell research.

“LAW AND POLICY

• In the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, the Supreme Court ruled that women, in consultation with their physician, have a constitutionally protected right to have an abortion in the early stages of pregnancy—that is, before viability—free from government interference.

• In 1992, the Court reaffirmed the right to abortion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. However, the ruling significantly weakened the legal protections previously afforded women and physicians by giving states the right to enact restrictions that do not create an “undue burden” for women seeking abortion.

• Thirty-five states currently enforce parental consent or notification laws for minors seeking an abortion. The Supreme Court ruled that minors must have an alternative to parental involvement, such as the ability to seek a court order authorizing the procedure.[18]

• Even without specific parental involvement laws, six in 10 minors who have an abortion report that at least one parent knew about it.[19]

• Congress has barred the use of federal Medicaid funds to pay for abortions, except when the woman’s life would be endangered by a full-term pregnancy or in cases of rape or incest.

• Seventeen states use public funds to pay for abortions for some poor women, but only four do so voluntarily; the rest do so under a court order.[20] About 13% of all abortions in the United States are paid for with public funds[21] (virtually all from state governments).[22]

• Family planning clinics funded under Title X of the federal Public Health Service Act have helped women prevent 20 million unintended pregnancies during the last 20 years. An estimated nine million of these pregnancies would have ended in abortion.[23] “

Upon reading this I am able to deduct that the Government does fund abortion. The only ways that the government funds it is under certain circumstances. Some of these situations were listed above such as Incest, Rape, to help poor people whom cannot afford the procedure. Also note that as the funding goes for the poor only seventeen States do such, and only four voluntarily do so.

Blog Post #5

I have been searching around and I was looking at this site http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=4454256&page=1 and they were comparing Dr. Seuss books to abortions.  They were saying that

Stem CEll research Vs. ABortion #6

I have come to a realization that the topic I have chosen has been misleading in someway. I have said that I was posting information on Stem cell research then abortion. I have done some research upon abortions and found out that the term “abortion” means the actual extraction of the baby. So technically in order to get embryonic stem cells toy must abort it. Though I for a split second believed that my post have been misleading, they totally have not. There are many ways to abort a pets, there are some less painful ways and the there are ones in which the baby can fell it.
This is one in which they use salt to kill the pets, which can basically cause as much pain as possible as the salt eats away and burns the baby. This is a short description from http://www2.hu-berlin.de/sexology/ATLAS_EN/html/abortion_methods.html

“Saline Injection

This method, also known as "salting out", consists of replacing some of the fluid surrounding the fetus with salt water. This is done by inserting a long, hollow needle through the abdomen into the amniotic sac inside the uterus. The salt water kills the fetus. The uterus starts contracting usually within the next two days, resulting in the delivery of the dead fetus.”

In this article there is a situation in which the unborn baby was to feel no pain. The unborn baby was delivered alive and was not taken care of by the medical staff. Along with the situation the staff did not follow orders the patient had bestowed them. This is one example in which the unborn baby may feel no pain but the patient did not receive it as she ordered the to give it to her.

“Digoxin is a drug injected into an unborn baby to cause his or her heart to stop in preparation for what amounts to a stillborn birth. Angele says despite having asked for it, she did not receive the digoxin injection, which she surmises caused the baby to be born alive. “

Claims 5 and 6, Solid Settling Tank and Liquid Settling Tank

The use of settling tanks to separate the different solids and liquids that will be used for the Biodiesel. In this Biodiesel project, two settling tanks will be used. One for the solids and one for the liquids. In a settling tank, the substance(s) with the highest density will sink to the bottom of the tank, while the less dense materials will stay higher. Through this process, the chemical mixtures that will be used for the biodiesel will be separated from each other. The denser chemicals will be separated from the less dense chemicals, and pure substances can be obtained.

the specific materials

2.    The settling tank was used to separate unwanted products in the mixture, water little bits of foods, etc. Also to separate the lye so it could be recycled, making more methanoic acid to repeat the cycle

Design of each part

    To make the design of the bio-diesel, we were all given a separate task to do, some people took care of the separation between two mixtures, other took care of settling tanks, everyone had different parts to make a blue print of and at the end of the design, they were all brought together into one big blue print.

VK!

VK!

Using bio diesel

The diesel should be used for production not profit. It shall not be used to gain a substantial amount of profit. It should be provided to individuals in need a more efficient energy source. The diesel itself is open to the public use, but shall remain a secret. Should be used in machinery for farming, traveling and production reasons. The bio diesel is totally produced at the end step of the project, which is after the chemicals have settled in the settling tank. From there it should be used to fuel machinery and other sources in need of the fuel.

Starting with different oil
1. Using vegetable oil, caster, soil, algae, saw grass, and restaurants. The Oils will be obtained thru waste, and the other sources form sentence one. They will go into a filtering process, which will then drain the oils form the solids producing the actual oil that will be used in the production of the bio diesel. The oils will flow thru the pipes and spouts used in the design, and then will meet the other chemicals in a mixing tank. It will mix with different chemicals in the mixing tank, then will flow on to the settling tank where the bio diesel will be produced after it has settled.

Different adhesives
Adhesives such as caulk, carpenters glue, and silicon were used to seal the Containing, mixing, and settling tanks. It was used in the sealing of the various holes where the spouts were placed within the tanks. The Holes that were cut to place the spouts were seal with the various adhesives. The reason for the use was to prevent any liquids from spilling to leaving the production process.

College Drop Out Rate 3

      In the past twenty years the rate of respect in class rooms have decreased at a unmeasured rate. Classroom curriculum has become less instructive and more of a place to hang out than learn. The environment of class room makes students believe that since there is no learning going then what is the difference between home and school. This confusion is most likely the cause of the rising of people not continuing after high school. The rate at which people are deciding not to continue after high school to go on to college. There are many possible to improve the rate but, few have actually been addressed. I have been through many and many websites and seen ways in which to improve what happens in high school. The adjective that continues to be reproduced is the power of education. The power of Education as said by Henry Peter, Lord Brougham "The Present State of the Law" "Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave." From the new Information i have read I have seen some of the things that are blamed for the decrease. Some people say that the SAT scores are the problems. Others state that the problem is that the community in which these neighborhood schools produce. They think that there is an essential problem in the school community if the surroundings of the school is not a place that your are designed to succeed. The only problem with these assessments is that in our own city of Philadelphia we have on the Elite graduate colleges. Temple University is in the dead center of North Philadelphia the r problem that has plague Philadelphia for many years. So how does a place that has if not the most devastating community, as close as it can get.

Reflective post 2

Ok to be truthfully perfectly honest, I didn't care too much about "changing the world", in fact, I didn't care so much, i that I wasn't really going to do it after my first two posts, but I was encouraged (as well as lectured) by a couple of people on why it would be a good idea to try and make a difference in this society. So I actually started looking up information again and surprisingly, I found the mother load of what I was in search for, that sparked my happinest to the peak... but not my courage. It still feels like I can't word the information I'm finding in a way that not only can we understand it, but we can see where I'm going with, BUT! I'm trying.

Process Claims of Biodiesel Production(#1,3,16)

1. The use of a flow process to produce biodiesel. A continuous method of producing the alternative fuel and purifying in it so that there is never a period of rest during the process. This process is more effective than a bathc process because it requires no time to stop and make changes, etc.

2. The order in which the tanks and materials were set up. A set order of where each part will be during the process in relation to the other parts. When each part of the process comes into use and where the substances inside the parts will be transferred is specifically set up.

16. The use of a jamming piece in the main container for the biodiesel. This is the small container with a sliding/hinged component that will allow the separation of lye from biodiesel. First, the lye will sink from the main container into the smaller container with the jamming piece because the lye is denser. Then, the jamming piece slides into place and keeps the biodiesel separated from the lye. Through the use of this component, the biodiesel that is produced from this process can be pure.

hunger

Hunger is not just the need to eat, can be defined as the continuing supports a healthy life. The more technical term is under nutrition. Over time, hunger slows physical and mental development in children and leaves them more exposed to illness and disease.

There is a big different between ‘under nutrition' and 'malnutrition'.

Definition from the dictionary “Under nutrition is quantitative and means that people do not get enough to eat whereas”
“Malnutrition is qualitative and means that a person’s diet is lacking the necessary amounts of certain elements that are essential to growth, such as vitamins, salts and proteins. This implies, of course, that a malnourished person does not necessarily feel hungry.”9

this article says Bringing Supermarkets to inner cities are a good way to solve for malnutrition diets in Philadelphia. By simply making a healthy chose when baying foods will perhaps solve to malnutrition problems to people who make a bad chose when ordering foods and drinks.

Reflection post two

Even though the RSS feed help for saving time, I am having problem finding the good information that could help me with my writing. One of my biggest obstacles is meeting the rubric for the blogs I posting. You gave as plenty of time to make this project as well as we can. I don’t think I have accomplish any thing that is productive. Am

Blog Post Number 3

Blog Post Number 3

I was browsing to find out about abortions in different countries and how they felt about them and I found this site, AGI News: http://www.agi.it/italy/news/200802270930-cro-ren0002-art.html.  This is an exact thing that it says in the site “(AGI) - Rome, 27 Feb - The first step has been taken in Italy towards the introduction of RU486. In accordance with the principle of mutual recognition, the scientific-technical commission of the Italian Pharmaceutical Agency (AIFA) approved the authorization request for sale of the product. The request was made at the end of November by Exelgyn, the French firm that manufactures the abortion pill.”  This is referring to the request of a pill in the form of abortion.  The thought of an abortion pill is much more peaceful than thinking of the “old school” version of an abortion.  They are both still killing the baby, however, it just seems like the pill will be a much better process.

Then I found a site called Catholic News Agency.  Just from the title I don’t think that in this article they will be supporting the idea of abortions just because most Catholics don’t believe in abortion.  The title of the article I was reading was called “Culture of abortion pervades British medical profession, say English pro-lifers”.  In the beginning of the article they say that they have limited further the circumstances in which abortion can be performed has won acclaim from the British pro-life movement. Tory leader David Cameron has said he will support reducing the time period for legal abortion from 24 weeks to 20 wee

College Drop Rate 1

The power of Education as said by Henry Peter, Lord Brougham "The Present State of the Law" "Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave."

Blog Post #2

I have been reading on the sites from my google reader and I was reading on this site http://www.alternet.org/reproductivejustice/75201/?page=entire and they were talking about a different way for women to get abortions.  They were saying that a woman can use mifepristone and get away from a mob af people who are against abortions, who tape pictures of bloody fetuses to their body and they yell "murder".

This is also something that I have copied from the website that may come in handy further in my project:

It's about time. Because, judging from the religious right's30-year campaign of violence against U.S. and Canadian medical clinics, I'd say murder in the name of God hasn't been too difficult. Here's a look at domestic terrorism by the numbers:

  • 7 murders, including 3 doctors, 2 clinic employees, a security guard, and an escort
  • 17 attempted murders
  • 383 death threats
  • 153 incidents of assault and battery
  • 3 kidnappings
  • 41 bombings
  • 173 arsons
  • 91 attempted bombings or arsons
  • 619 bomb threats
  • 655 bioterror attacks (all hoaxes), 554 of which were committed by one man
  • 1,630 incidents of trespassing
  • 1,264 incidents of vandalism
  • 100 attacks with butyric acid stink bombs

One-third of all abortion clinics in 1981 were gone by 2005.

This seems to be the different crime rates.  I guess this was put in this site because they consider abortions murder.  These are one of the times I want to use my own opinion, but I'm going to stick to what I have found out.   This is also a religious problem.  Some religions don't believe in abortions and don't want theor followers to condone in these things, like muslims.

Reflective Post # 1

So far I have researched and found a lot of  different web sites that talk about abortions and different people's opinions on abortions.  The only problems that I am having is that I am not really getting in to this project and it is not really interesting to me as I though it was going to be.  I am also having trouble with finding the different rights of abortions and the interesting things like age limits and stuff.  This project isn't going as good as I planned and I don't think the outcome is going to be that great.  This really sucks because this might come in the way of me getting another B in my English class like the two quarters before.

Reflection 1

I have noticed that I am a very opinionated person. I bases on what I think and it is very hard to include to a topic that I write. Also lately my topic is becoming less and less interesting to me. What i meean is that what I am writing is not interesting to me so I am writing slowly and less caring. I am no longer writning about what i think and I am writing like i do not care.

Reflection post #1

So far in my project I've run into a few problems like not being able to find new information but what I do find is pretty useful. I have a few different change agents that I think will help and will try to contact them soon. Some successes that I've had are that I've been able to get certain information on topic that gives me a lot of good leads to what I'm trying to find out about. I should have everything done when it needs to be done. I plan to find some more change agents and contact all of them fairly soon. I should have enough information for the 3rd blog post by tomorrow and will be able to post it by Friday.

Destrcution Blog Entry

   Destruction in the world is not cause by one thing, but caused by another man's pain.

      How are you apart of destruction? How do you create problems that destroy the world? How are you not what the world wants right now? these are all questions that man or woman you need to ask yourself before you become anything. If you are a man who is apart of the army this is an easy question to ask yourself, but now these questions go to the men who wear suits and sit in offices. Unless this is you "Plymouth club and pub owners are calling on the city council to provide glass recycling for businesses to help their bid to be eco-friendly," or is this is what your business is "After a month of hearings, he ruled on Tuesday that ''the real possibility of irreparable damage to the environment'' left him no choice under state law but to halt the ferry until the assessment is complete.”This problem is coming to a point where leaving a coffee on the floor, because there is not a trash can is something that doesn’t matter. then you ask if there is so much of a problem why do my bottle really kill the world. Well that is the question that i wait for. Make yourself and example because no one is wrong until the see right and continue to do wrong.

Bio-diesel Blog 1

When Mr. Vank talked to us about the bio-diesel, none of us knew what it was. But then, as time passed by, we started to comprehend what bio-diesel is. We researched on the Internet how to make it and made up a list with all the procedures in order to actually produce this kind of combustible.
After a while Mr. VK explained to us that we weren’t going to make bio-diesel in the well-known way, which creates poor quality fuel. He described the “flow process”, a better method, which thanks to it, the BD is more efficient and effective. After that class, things started to get serious.
We created a series of blueprints, each of them representing the actual bio-diesel machine. We spent a lot of time in doing this. There was just another thing to do before acting practically: pricing all the component of the BD device. Mr. VK kind of “pressured” us in order to do it well. In fact we did it very accurately, counting every needed penny.
Finally it was time to get the stuff and build the bio-diesel implement. Now we are still working on it, by folding sheet of aluminum, cutting metal and bending tubes.
I didn’t imagine this project would have become so big: we found a way to improve the bio-diesel and we are actually building the machine. That’s just incredible. I hope our contribution will encourage other schools in order to research other environmentally friendly combustibles.

Bio-Diesel

In September of 2007, my classmates and I at Science Ledership Academy began a project on bio-deisel and how to buid a reactor.During this project I have been researching bio-diesel, what it is, and how it works. Before I started my research, I did not know anything about bio-diesel, I have never even herd about it. I have also learned the importance of bio-diesel and why it could be such a big topic. When I first read about it, I thought it was genius. Who ever even though about inventing something so useful and easy to make was a very intelligent person. Then I thought about how much of a good idea it was for my classmates and I to begin a project to create our own bio-diesel. I knew that it would be both a fun and educational experience. One I would be learning about bio-diesel, and two I would be learning how to build my own.

Bio-Diesel: Blog 1

    The overall work done so far on the Bio-Diesel Reactor project has been quite a voyage. The knowledge gained from this project has been a vast sea. Not only have I learned about the constructivist, environmental and engineering aspects of building a Bio-Diesel reactor, but I have also learned about inquiry driven work and independent study.
    The first steps of this project included figuring out how to make Bio-Diesel and then figuring out how to convert it from a “batch process” to a “flow process”. The difference between the two is easiest to determine when explained in a metaphor. Imagine baking cookies. You can make a batch of cookies and bake them in an oven, or you could have them being made in a factory and coming out on conveyor belts. The cookies being made in a factory will produce a lot more at a quicker speed. That is a flow process.
    Once we discovered independently how the process of making Bio-Diesel could be converted to a quicker, more efficient process, then the collaboration started. More on that in the next post.
