Thank you to all who came in for the interviews, we currently do not have anymore interview dates available. Admissions decision will come from the School District of Philadelphia in late March early April.Please be aware that SLA has reached capacity for shadows, if your child is accepted there will be more shadowing dates available in the spring.
Information Session / Open House — Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 — 5:30–8:00pm: All interested families are strongly encouraged to attend! SLA representatives will be visiting schools all over Philadelphia, and SLA will have a booth at the School District of Philadelphia High School Fair.
Criteria: Admission to SLA is based on a combination of a student interview at the school with a presentation of completed work, Advanced or Proficient PSSA scores, As and Bs with the possible exception of one C, teacher or counselor recommendation and good attendance and punctuality. Interested families must contact the school to set up an appointment for an interview. SLA will not initiate the interview process with families.
Prospective Students can start scheduling interview the first week of October.
Interviews: Interested applicants who meet our admissions criteria should call the school at 215-979-5620 to set up an interview. SLA will not initiate contact with any students to set up interviews.
Interview Dates and Time for 2012:
Dec. 8th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
Dec. 9th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
Dec. 15th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
Dec. 16th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
The interview is a project-based interview. Students should bring a school paper or project done in 7th or 8th grade that s/he feels is a strong representation of who they are as a student.
Projects will be returned to applicants. Students may include photocopies of their work.
