Mi Rutina Diaria by Justin Pullins

What did you learn from doing this project? (skills, life lessons, words etc)?

I learned how to say certain things in Spanish, as well as how to make a pretty cool video.

How do you feel about your final product?

I feel pretty confident about the final project. It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty good.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?

I would change the video around a bit, and maybe include more video instead of photos.

Did you enjoy this project? Why or why not?
I did, because it was extremely creative and insight.

There's Us

There's me,
Looking down at my shoes.
The one smiling like the sun
That's you,
What were you thinking?
What was the song inside your head?

If I was stupid,
Maybe careless,
So were you...

Not everything is supposed to come true.
Some words are best unsaid,
Some love is not really love at all.
I'll keep everything I shared with you.
And that's enough,
There's us...

The Effects of Bipolar Disorder

“MICHAEL! PLEASE CALM DOWN!” Screamed Christy, panic in her eyes and all she could do was watch and stare as I punched the wall next to the bathroom and violently threw the old Ikea lamp that we keep next to our bed. It was as if something inside me just snapped. Christy sounded distant. We were in the same room, but somehow, I could barely make out her words, like I was in another dimension. I didn’t know exactly what she was saying, but I knew I was upsetting her. I knew it killed her to see me like that, but it didn’t matter. It happened in mere seconds, we were in bed together with our son Evan and all of a sudden he started crying – not your ordinary cry that informs the parent that their child is hungry or wet, but rather, he sounded like he was in pain - A pain so deep that it could not be cured by a mother’s gentle kiss or the proper cradling technique prescribed by parenting.com or some other website that has disillusioned millions of families expecting a baby that there is some type of formula to fix all of your child’s problems.

I had heard him cry thousands of times before and it bothered me each time, but this time was different. I heard those screams and I just lost control. This just seemed to make everything worse. The crying intensified and Christy’s pleas for me to stop just made me angrier and then I…

Indignation

Is the emotion i got for the English story. From what Chase told me about my story it seems i developed the Narrators personality much more then i did the actual character. Now in my attempts to infuse his sarcastic comments into Ryan's boring life it's reminded me why i hate writing about people with boring perfect lives, it's harder to pick at them.

Character Story Part 5

The left side of her face was slashed leaving at least a one/half gash across her face. The gash was oped deep to the cheek bone of her face and it was noticeable that whatever she was cut with, grazed her cheek bone. There were also several stab wounds to her chest, which her believed to be the cause of her death. Christain knelt and tried to touch Kay for one last time, but he wan't able to because her body had to be examined. As the paramedics began to examine Kay's body, Christain was called by Chief. Chief stood in front of a pistol and it resembled one of the standard police handguns. "Yes Chief", Christain answered. "Weren't you here with Kay tonight?" Chief asked. "Yeah but I left early so I could meet with Kareem at the Rec."  Christain pleaded his case. "Was their anything suspicious here tonight, anything Kay was doing that was out of the ordinary." Chief asked. "No… well besides the fact that Kay didn't hit anything, everything else was normal". Christain responded. "Kay? She missed her target?" Chief shockingly asked. "Yeah I thought that was strange to but I didn't think anything of it".

Chief knelt down and picked up the black 9mm pistol from the side of his shoe. He examined the weapon carefully. "She had to fire it at her murderer the safety is off." Chief said as he turned it on.  Chief Carl took the magazine out of the 9mm Pistol and examine the bullets. "Chris, look!" Chief yelled. Christain turned to the Chief and looked at the bullets in the magazine. "They're blanks Chief, that must have been why she wasn't hitting the targets, she was firing blank bullets." Christain knew something wasn't right. "This wasn't a simple robbery, this was a set up… she was set up.

Character Story Part 4

As Christain pulled up in front of his house, his cell phone rang. "You have your key?" Christain asked. "Yeah" "I'll meet you in there in a couple minutes let me take this call." Christain said, Kareem hated that his Dad worked a lot and his anger showed when he slammed the car door. "Yeah?" Christain said as he answered his phone. It was Police Chief Carl McFadden on the other line, "Christain we have a homicide I think you would want to see." he said. "Chief I can't, I already missed Kareem's game and I want to spend some time with him." Christain responded. "It's Kay… her body was found at the shooting range, she was killed… mutilated." Chief said. Christain closed his eyes and looked through his window to see Kareem stand at the living room door, he rolled down his car window and yelled," Kareem there was an emergency at the shooting range I have to go to, lock the doors, I'll be home before morning." Not surprised by his Dad's actions Kareem slammed the front door as well. Christain hung up on Chief Carl before speeding back to the shooting range. When Christain pulled up to the shooting range he saw the flashed of red lights, an ambulance team, several police cruisers, and a local news crew, he knew this was going to be a long night. While entering the shooting range, Christain felt the stares from other officers, he knew it wasn't good. In the shooting range,  there lied Kay.

Character Story Part 3

Christain arrives at the Rec. center at 9:51, as he pulls up, he see's Kareem sitting on the brick wall. "I thought you said you'll try to make it to his game", Kareem instantly asked his Dad. "I tried but I lost track of time, I'm sorry… did you score?" Christain knew his son was mad, but he tried to avoid his intense questioning by any means necessary. "Yeah 11 points, 2 assist, 1 steal, we won by 2… Earl made the game winning shot." Kareem said so his Dad wouldn't ask anymore questions. "My boy!, you hungry?" Christain asked. "No I just want to go home, I'm tired and I have to leave for school earlier tomorrow." Kareem said as he yawned and his eyes grew red. Both Christain and Kareem went to the car to finish their conversation. "Why?" "Because I have to help my group finish this project that's due tomorrow" Kareem had the habit of waiting to finish things at the last minute. "Oh yeah your documentary project, well you'll do good on it…" Christain told Kareem, his son had a passion for filming and video editing and wanted to have a career in the field. The REC center was only 10 minutes from their house, so they were home in no time.

Character Story Part 2

As Kay is cleaning her pistol she notices a black figure from her top vision run across the back of the shooting range. "Hello…. Christain?" Kay shakenly asked. Kay began to load her pistol and she holds it in a firing position. As Kay stood behind the counter, several of the targets began to move towards her. While the targets are moving the black figure runs back and forth again, hiding behind the still targets. "Who else is in here?… Show yourself or I'll be forced to fire.", Kay loaded her weapon and was prepared to shoot. As she waited to see her target, the black figure emerges from behind one of the targets and stands in the middle of the shooting range. Its full attire was black and nothing on it's body was visible, with the exception of the eyes where you could see it's pure evil. The black figure raised its right arm, which held a 8 inch blade. Kay aims her weapon, and simultaneously the black figure began to run towards Kay. "Stop! Stop!", Kay yelled before firing six rounds at the black figure, however it continued to run towards her. Kay ran towards the door, but it was locked.

As Kay turns to see the black figure, he stabs her on he left side before throwing her to the ground. Kay drags her body to her pistol but before she could grab it, she's stabbed in her left hand disabling her from grabbing anything. The black figure turns Kay around and for several seconds they stare in each other eyes, Kay looks at the black pupils of her killer and she is immediately stabbed directly in her chest by the blade.

Character Story

3-2-1......................................

After 30 seconds the target moved closer to where I stood holding my 9mm Pistol. Kay stood next to me as her target moved closer , we both stood behind the counter waiting to see our results. "Ha!, two long range shots to the head and chest, and I see no shots to the target not even the border. I think we have a clear winner, you normally win this game... what happend?." Christain gloated. "I don't know Chris, one more round before the night is over?" Kay asked."No I can't, Kareem has a game in a half at the REC." Chris answered in as he packed his things. "Well I don't know where you're from but I don't know of any high school that starts its games at quarter after 10…" Kay responded. Christain looked down at his GUESS Watch and to his amazement it was past 9:00pm. "Shit … damn, I thought it was going on 9." Christain yelled."No we were hear for almost 2 hours. Is he going to be mad?" Kay asked, she knows of Christain's history of forgetting to show up to his son's basketball games. Between work as a Detective and single parent, he sometimes forget these things. "Yea I have to leave now, what time is it?" Chris asked while putting his 9mm Pistol in his side case. "9:33 exactly…", Kay said. "The game should be in 4th quarter, I'll talk to you tomorrow…", Christain replied as he rushed to the front door.  "Okay bye Chri…", before Kay could say goodbye the door had closed behind Christain. Kay stays in the shooting range alone cleaning her gun before going home. She firmly holds her pistol in her right hand as she gracefully wipes the side of her firearm with a suede towel.

Dear M
I hated you for all the emotions in my head, the confusion, you made me doubt everything -Opened my eyes to see the delusion- I hated you for turning my world upside down, for making cry your name at night. But let’s be honest, somewhere in the middle of all this, you showed me a place so beautiful and different.

My dad...

My dad is pretty darn strong and great. In my eyes he is a hero cause he tries so hard. Recently he was interviewed for a paper. The story was published yesterday in the Inquirer and it is online as well. I am really proud of my dad. He is working hard on not only making his t-shirt business happen but staying strong for the whole family.

The Green Grass Still Grows

"There was a tree
In the middle of the ground
The prettiest tree
That you ever did see.

Oh the tree in a hole,
And the hole in the ground
and the green grass grows all around all around
and the green grass grows all around.

And from this tree,
there grew a limb
the prettiest limb
that you ever did see.

Oh the limb on the tree,
and the tree in a hole.
and the hole in the ground,
and the green grass grows all around, all around
and the green grass grows all around."

And on that limb there was a branch. The prettiest branch that you ever did see.

But this children's song skipped an important part.

[Extended Version]
And on that  branch,

 there grew a  leaf.

the prettiest leaf

that you ver did see.

But winter came,

and those pretty leaves and pretty branches fell off.

So that pretty tree stood alone.

But the green grass still grew all around, all around

The green grass still grows all around.

An insert from my story...

Halfway along the New Jersey street a person appeared behind her, but she didn’t know. Random cars whizzed by on the road, and they caught her attention every now then. A red jeep with bright headlights reflected the strangers shadow on the pavement behind her. She turned around, and noticed the man. White, bear face, short shaggy hair. His dingy flannel shirt was tucked halfway into ripped blue jeans that were covered in random patches of bleach stains and dirt.
