Life...

It's funny how life's events and simple conversation affect your daily life. A two minute conversation or a fragment goes a long way as it weaves itself through someones daily routine making it evident as you live. I think about how every second you breath and do simple things those things are your defining moment those things make you who you are. This is sort a stream of consciousness thoughts bundled up together it's surreal. I guess life's surreal shit just gets toi critical.

Finding Joy in the Smallest things :)

So today, I went into Daffy expecting to buy a yoga for about $10. When I got there I went directly to the mats, because I had been anticipating getting it all day. When I brought the light blue mat up to the counter to be checked out, I got a surprise. The mat that was once $9.99 rung up to be 2.49! I have no idea what kind of sell they had going on but I was excited. That sell set the tone for the rest of my day, and I have been happy every since.

First Debate Tournament

My first debate tournament went well. I made it to the semi-finals – a feat deemed unattainable by someone in their first debate. In this round we were clearly outmatched. The opposing team had been debating for years and subsequently, their case was much more solid. After the debate was over my partner and I left the room immediately, too bummed out to have to stay and listen to the negative commentary. We had just taken our seats in the auditorium of about a hundred people when they host of the tournament came through the door, and gave a look of pure confusion. “Why aren’t you two up there getting ready?!” she said hastily; and all of a sudden everything changed. Chris and I ran outside the room to let loose with some giddy screaming and jumping, just long enough for us to compose ourselves and get back inside to debate.

As I said, the finals were in an auditorium in front of close to a hundred people. This was a personal test because public speaking had always been an issue for me. I knew the results would be close. Unfortunately, I lost the debate by a two to one vote; however, the skills that I gained that day had a lasting affect as I eventually went on to succeed at several other prestigious debate tournaments.

I don't really know

what I've done to deserve this. I don't know why you've lied to me about her. I don't know why you texted her, talked to her, or even thought of her when you knew how upset I get when I think of her. You fuck with my head, way too much. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of crying and embarrassing myself in front of other people. I just wish instead of hiding it, you'd tell me the truth.

Sacrificial Love by: Kam Huds

"It's amazing... the lengths people are willing to go for the people they love. From lovers, to siblings, to parents, to friends, to pets. When you're heart gets truly attached to someone, there's no telling what you'll do for them. My name's Kam and in the following audio you'll hear about the boundaries and lines that people cross and the risk and sacrifices people make for the one's they love."

No Bounds On Love

Sunglasses

The memory of that day
Still rests in my head
That hot, sticky heat
The calm water below

I still see her standing there
With him in her arms
Eyes shaded from the sun
Like a man in black

I return to the pond
Perhaps looking for fish
A cry, a yelp
As her covers pierce the surface

The memory of that day
Still rests in my head
The way she laughed
To keep him from crying

Maybe his eyes hurt
The sun's grin just too strong
Or he wanted her all to himself
Maybe

Or maybe that’s one of those cute things
Those things that babies do
That lets you know they’re ready to be put down

Alarm Clock!

My alarm clock really annoys me sometimes.  Usually, when it gets accidentally unplugged, it refuses to go off the next morning despite the fact that it is set.  When it gets unplugged, I anticipate it not going off so I make sure that I set my cell phone, also.  However, this morning it wanted to be completely rude and not go off even though it was never unplugged.

Thankfully, I woke myself up only eight minutes late.  I quickly jumped out of bed and stared at my alarm clock.  It was definitely set for 6:30 am.  It just decided it wanted to do it's own thing and be IDIOTIC.

Damn alarm clock.
