I choose the texture of title to be large, pixelated, and blocky like because it reminds me of videogames which I like to play on my free time. Also, where it says my name "by Christina" in small cursive, I choose that font because of how smooth it was without barely any sharp edges. The balance of the text was equal because it was put into the center. The color that I choose for the slide is a mixture of dark and bright to make things pop out and make sure that there is a mixture of both dark and light colors. The form of some of my pictures that I choose is somewhat 3D and pops out to me and some were just in a regular 2D shape. I made sure that every space is filled with a picture that could fit or a text that I needed. I made a mix of gradation with light and dark and small and large. The variety of colors I combined was a dark background and then I placed light images on top of my background and a few dark pictures of my liking.

I designed my slide to look like the iconic kanye west album "the life of pablo"

I was influenced to make my slide like the albums artwork ,because I really like kanye as a creator and artist

I added a colombian flag ,because that is where my family comes from.

I also added a soccer ball ,because I have a passion ,and love for the sport

I had many thought to do for my slide. I went back and forth on I should do. At the end I ended up choosing, what I love the most about myself. And that is being the fact that I am Puerto Rican. I love being part of the Puerto Rican culture and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I first thought of putting my background as the Puerto Rican so that it would be obvious what I’m talking about. Then I had decided to add in my family. I took some pictures from my phone and added them onto my slide. I have my brothers, my stepmother and my grandpa. I also added in something that my grandma always made for me, Arroz con habichuela. And if you don’t know what that means, it means Rice with beans. Finally, I added in a quote that my grandma told me once I moved to the US. The quote is ¨I might be far away but I will always be close in your heart¨. Obviously, my grandma told me in spanish so I translated it for this slide. This is what I think show well about me because I really just love being a Puerto Rican

When we first assigned the project I did not think much of it. I thought it was was going to be easy and a walk through. When i started my research i learned that there was a lot more to creating a slide than i thought. I read that the colors should be very vibrant to catch your audience’s eye. My first slide was very vibrant but when i looked at it i felt that there were too many colors and images going on and it hurts the eyes to look at. I decided i wanted to subtle withy my slide so that the colors wouldn’t hurt the audiences eyes. I chose a white background to contrast the black and gray images. I edited a photo and changed the filter to black to contrast the white background. I put the picture in the corner to have people’s eyes focus there and then move on to the rest of the slide. I faded the flag in the back so that people can see it but not focus on it too long. I chose black white and gray because i wanted to have the colors to be subtle but still bold. I chose black for the most importants parts because i wanted for it to be the most bold spot.

Life of Zey

I made my slide the way it is because I take great pride in my culture and I wanted to make sure my slide had a lot of clarity in that department. My slide might be simple but it’s  clear. I think my pictures on my slide says a lot and sets up my structure. I didn’t want my slide to be to complicated because I feel like the person who is checking it out would be  to overwhelmed. I’m black so I put black in the background and then all the remaining races in the center so the viewer can know my variety of my races. What inspired me was my love for  basketball and my race.  I had a lot of patience and thought into my slide. I thought how can I get my message across? How will people understand my slide the best way possible? Some things I said what shapes me? I kinda eliminated things that really didn’t shape me as the person I am. I made a quote that really I heard all my life the center of attention because it really was a quote that really changed my perspective of life. “Which is do everything with fire.”

I made the slide that way because I think soccer is a good sport and you can tell what the slide is about from the first look of it. Soccer is the best international sport ever and everyone like it so I thought it would be very interesting to make a slide about it. I really enjoy watching soccer and play it because it’s easy to understand. I made the background black so that the only thing people can focus on is the soccer ball picture and I also made the letters red so that people could understand or notice the description.

The reason why i choosed the way i decorated the slide was because, everything i put on it was something that i love or enjoy using. My slide included a basketball, icon of instagram, snapchat, and youtube. I put youtube because, i vlog on youtube, what it means to vlog is to, either react to funny vines or anything people enjoy, and to record yourself during daily activities. I made my slide  simple because, too much design can mess up your slide. If you're just truthful on what you really use every single day, it should just followed up with facts and opinions. The things that influenced me to become a youtuber is, Adam Saleh, he is a muslim just like me, he has over 1 million subscribers, and he tell people too never give up, he just my role model. Also social media is involved on all of these apps, i love to communicate to other all around the world. its our responsibility to absorb our thoughts, enjoy and to learn new things about social media at a early age. Technology is a huge thing that can affect you in a positive and negative way, you always have to be careful. Even though the internet is a fun thing to explore, there will always be hackers who are trying to ruin your fun and play.

Daddy Duties; The Birth Of Seahorses

Science- Seahorses are one of a kind. Like all species, before starting a family, they have to chose their partner. Once doing so, a female and male will part take in a dancing ritual which they must swim in-sync. A female, with a rough and pointed abdominal area meets with the male, smooth and round area (recalled to as a pouch). When it is time to mate, the female will deliver/hand off the eggs to the male's pouch, which he will carry for 45 days. At this stage, a female is capable to have 1,500 or more eggs. Once the eggs are handed off to the male, the female leaves to produce more eggs with another male, yet still comes back to check up on the male daily. While the father is carrying the eggs, his body begins to change. Similar to a human's body, his stomach will expand due to the production of embryos. Just when it is time, the male's body will release (sort of pop) the young seahorses right out of their pouch. In that process, like a woman whose water breaks, a seahorse's 3,000 genes are broken down. Soon after birth, the youngs are left alone to care for themselves.

Society- This is a unique style of birth, that many are not aware of. We are so consumed of this idea that females are the one who carries a child. Clearly, the birth of seahorses show wrong. We are similar to many other species that many would not believe to be true and it is fascinating that a male is capable to carry their child/children.

Self- Some time in my life, I've always had this idea that some kind of male creature was able to give birth to their child. I had not really looked into it because in reality or from what many and I have been exposed to, a woman is typically the one to carry a child. So I thought what better way to look into this theory and find out on my own. This was fascinating and it really answered my thoughts.

Musically Talented

Untitled presentation (1)

Musically talented describes who I am. I play viola and I wanted to express that in this slide so I included that in with the title. For this slide I used the rule of contrast. The rule of contrast is when you a have an ongoing theme and then you have something a different color that is on the other side of the color wheel. For example, if I choose to have a blue background and one thing that is red. The red would stand out from the blue background which would cause a powerful statement. I choose to include this rule because it made my title stand out and it becomes very eye catching.

Louisa's Media Fluency Project

The first thing I did with my slide was pick a color scheme. I read up on how to choose colors to make my pallet aesthetically pleasing and chose a light gray background, with bold black letters for my name, and a medium blue color for the other information. I chose the font Bree Serif. I not only chose this because it’s  a nice font, but because it is a very bold font and can be read easily. I put my full name in black letters at the top in bold letters so itś the first thing you see. The shape of my slide is two dimensional. Since the hue is mostly gray, the value would be middle gray since it’s not black or white.
I let my picture bleed off the side of the border to show the negative space between the picture and the text. That is how I created my slide.

I made my slide look the way it does because it reflects my personality. I included color, line, shape, and space. I made the background a bright color because it stood out to me, which I liked. It was pretty and eye catching. I also decided to position my photos at these certain angles. I wanted to show all of them in a non boring way. For instance, like not just straight. As you can see they’re all at different positions. So that is where I used line. I used space in the sense of like I didn’t want the photos overlapping each other that much. Some are, but like, not extremely. So yeah, those were my decisions.

Personality/Diamond

Untitled presentation (1)
Do you have a name that resembles a valuable jewel? If you do that means that you are just as valuable as the jewel you resemble. I chose the background for my slide because the center was a colorful diamond. The background was black which made the diamond the center of attention. I remember reading that you had to make your slide colors appealing to the eye. The Diamond was very appealing to my eye. I also chose that picture because my name is Diamond and it was a perfect match. Secondly, the font of my slide is interesting. It’s easy to read. There are certain words that are bold so that the statement can seem more interesting and eye catching. The boldness of the words will grasp the reader into the slide better. In my slide, the diamond is colorful just like my personality and attitude.

I made the slide look the way it does because everything on there describes me. On my slide I have that background because It shows my future and how successful I will be. I have books, a quran, a person working, and my picture on there because those are the things that describe me other than my picture. I made my slide look the way it does according to presentation zen, I followed all of the ways I can make a great slide. According to presentation zen it stated that, presentation slides must get noticed, be read/understood, and be remembered. So, I followed these to make my slide look professional. Also, it stated, “ask yourself whether your message can be processed effectively within three seconds. The audience should be able to quickly ascertain the meaning before turning their attention back to the presenter.” Then, I tried to do that to my slide, making sure that the audience should be able to get the meaning in a very short amount of time. Last but not least, presentation zen stated that, we should make our slides visual, it should be one slide/one point, we should make type big, contrast rules, and have a visual theme. There are a couple more, but I took out the ones I used and the ones I thought were important. Presentation zen gave me great ideas that made me make a very simple and professional slide. I knew that following presentation zen will eventually lead to great consequences. Thank you!

A Taste Of Me

my slides ( the last one) (2)

I would firstly like to discuss the reasons why the images are placed the way they are. I actually wanted to create a little bit of a depth effect (this is also why I choose the black background). I also took some advice from the Zen website provided to me which included one slide one point, contrast rules, and making it visible. I wanted to make something that makes the viewers take a double look and wonder why I created it and why are there so many odd photos, what’s the meaning?. While I would prefer viewers to use their own creative skills to find out the meaning of the slide, as with most slides the theme is pretty obvious from the first glance.

While positioning the images I also considered my theme and decided it would be best to position them in my opinion in the most descriptive and emotional way possible. The reason for the creature in the background that looks like a demon is actually there to symbolize me! Me being extremely antisocial I usually just sit in the back of the class quiet and observing my classmates. Finding out what they’re really about so I can know what i’m getting myself into if I do decide to talk to them. The reason why I put the bee so close is to symbolize my more playful and silly side for if I know you well this is what will be displayed by me most of the time. Now, you’re probably wondering about the door with the curious child looking in it up in the top left corner. That was meant to be far away, as I mentioned above i'm extremely antisocial and even my friends that think they know me actually have no idea what i'm truly about. They usually take my kindness for granted and one day they may see me change and stay that way for as long as we're friends.

Now, you’re also probably wondering why I choose such odd images to create my slide. As I said in the second paragraph, the bee is there to symbolize my silly personality but also because i’m a huge fan of the subject Entomology. The door with the excessively nosy child as also mentioned in paragraph two is there to represent my true personality which is locked up and will remain in its cell until I find the right people to expose it to. And finally, the reason for the demon are numerous. One being the fact that people never tend to notice me and by my actions/hobbies being different from others really just make things worse. So instead of finding someway to change myself I sit back and see who I believe would make a good associate.

Hello, my name is Shyann Davis. I made my Me magazine based on only a few things but I hope you can see it. I have based it on line, value, color, and rhythm. With line I lined all of my pictures together to it could look pleasing to the eyes and not to everywhere and confusing. With value I kept it simply black and white to be, well simple. But I didn’t just want the same black and white color so I put some lighter blacks and more brighter or dirty whites. The color I wanted was black and white but I also wanted pop to it so I added a bit of color by adding the question mark. And lastly I wanted rhythm, but also wanted to mess with the rhythm. I wanted the rhythm to be the same but have one difference in my pattern.

What I would change is maybe the way I put my project all together. The pictures along the side could be done a lot better. But overall I really like it and I hope you all enjoyed it as well.
ME MAGAZINE (2)

The slide I created represents me in many ways. The white-value of the letters in the top right corner spell out my name. The visual theme is practically me. The picture that bleeds off the right side is the softball field. I made this decision by putting the field on the slide because softball isn't just a hobby I have, it's more like showing how hardworking I am. I put dedication into the game. I want to actually maybe play for the school. I left empty space so my billboard wasn’t too cluttered. I also had a photo, which bleeds of the side, of an Iphone. I put this there because not only do i have one, it sorta represents me. I have everything about on my phone, Such as all my friends, all my pictures, all my contacts, all my everything pretty much. I wouldn’t be same without it..

This is real This is me

This is what I am all jammed into one slide. The white background shows shows that on the outside there is always something good, but with every good side there is a slightly darker side. Some darker than others. I wanted to really emphasize this with my color scheme and point out what I do with my life. I also wanted to leave a lot of empty space because it really emphasises the things that I did put in. The tone of my presentation is black and white with the exception of the guitar because that is the actual color way and model of my guitar. Black and white is one of my favorite color scheme because it really POPS. I only decided to include the things that are my passions, because I didn’t want that extra stuff crowding the slide.

A Slide about Me

When I was creating my slide I started and really wanted to include a lot of things but then I realized if I did that it could be distracting to the eye. So i decided to keep it simple so it shows you who I am without being overwhelming to the eye. As you can see my slide has a ukulele on it and I put the vinyl record in the body of the uke. I did that so that everything looked like it was supposed to be there. I included two things I love that were under the same topic and the title of my me magazine to connect the two together in  a way. I kept the font big but not so big that my audience couldn't pay attention to me and what i was saying. I stayed with a basic white background to make my text and pictures pop. I added the world in the word world to incorporate movement in the slide. Itś a gif so you're not just looking a a bland slide. so  welcome to my world I hope you enjoyed.

In order to make an effective slide I had to make sure I used as little wording as possible, but not to the point where I'm just saying nouns.  And the color of the text had to be pop or at least contrast to the background, but I didn't want to make the text just one color, so I decided to put pop and contrast together.  The text also had to be legible so I made the text bigger.  And as the artist I am, I decided to make it more "artistic" and more complex than just writing some "inspirational" quote down, so I separated the passage in half and put a pen in between. You know, to represent what I use for drawing.  Speaking of being an artist, the main theme of the slide surrounds how much I love to draw.  Even in the future I hope to get a profession of designing. Specifically things like art direction in games. Simplicity can be complex, and I just wanted to express that.  Even the smallest of details can have a deeper meaning to someone.

My slide is a symbolic representation of me. As you noticed there is a variety  of different colors shapes and sizes. Each different color , shape, and placement of certain objects  on the image  significant and or symbol who I am. There are many things that play into this picture that portray the type of  person I am. To start off something that you notice you are looking at because it is centered right in the middle of the profile. This figure is made out of shapes and different colors.  The figure is placed on top of a background of many shapes and colors as well. Something that also is very vivid is that the figure has more bright colors that harmonize together for example  like yellow, blue, and white and that contrasts from the background with dark negative colors like black and red. The colors in the figure symbol my personality of being full of happiness peace, confidence, healthy and etc. The reason why is contrasting from the background with the negative colors that symbolize depression, sadness, anger, evil, and fear is because I always in a way try to stay positive keeping myself from all the negative things that are germinated from others and society. Now also the shapes that the figure is made out of represents a lot about me as well. The figure that I'd made out of shapes like circles and square . These symbolize power , energy , perfection and completeness and honestly. IN the background that the figure that symbolizes me stands above is full of triangles,  in the symbolism world, triangles symbolize tension and conflict. Also another thing that i added into my slide was space. The figure that portrays me in the center of the page has a space between the shapes to give off positive vibes however in the background all the shapes are all over one another to portray negative vibe.  So overall the reason to why the locations of the colors and shapes and sizes are placed where they are placed because I wanted to represent the differences I see in myself and the different characteristics in my personality  compared to what I try to separate myself from my surroundings .

Blue

My slide was designed off all my general interest and things that make me, me. You’re probably wondering, who is that little fat child in the corner?, That’s Horace from monster squad not really sure why he’s there just a good thing know, ya know.

Under my name you’ll notice a really pretty sunset with a heart around it, don’t focus on that, let’s look at what it says. I’ll give you a moment to read it. I personally believe that if we are nice to each other, it could possibly make someone’s day so much better.

In the two corners you’ll see two pieces of clothing that have the element Holmium which just happens to be Ho on the periodic table. I’d thought I’d implement this to show how even though I’m a 15 year old boy, on the inside I have the mind of a toddler also to show that we’re all kids inside.

I think that if you dress nice and you present yourself nicely, you’ll be respected and you’ll be treated like a professional. That's why I added two pieces of clothing in my slides.

Lastly, there’s a picture of old fashioned pen and paper. I do enjoy writing and those who’ve I actually shared it with, you’d know that I take it very serious and I’m very passionate about it.

Something (4)

My Personality Slide

My original slide is slightly different in the design, but very different in its meaning. When editing the slide, I changed a few of the words, because after further thought I realized that not all of them felt like they described me. Eccentric, for example, didn’t quite fit how I wanted to describe myself, so I replaced it with caring. As for the other words, I am very passionate about debate, voicing my opinions and activism. Additionally, basketball and videogames are two big hobbies of mine.

For my image, I originally decided to use a guitar, but I changed it because it didn’t feel very personal. Instead I replaced it with one of my sixth grade projects. This project was a part of our journey in self discovery; to create a mask we thought represented ourselves. This mask is created around my identity at the time, and still holds a lot of truth in my identity today.

Many aspects of the mask are very symbolic, which I think is similar to identity in itself. You won’t be able to discover everything about me just by looking at me once. First, the forest at the chin represents my adventurous side, the river represents my creativity, and the rocks around the nose represent more jagged sides of my personality. I’m often stubborn, and easily upset. Finally, the spaces where the rest of the mask should be represent the parts of my personality I haven’t found yet. There are still holes in my mask, and parts of myself that I need to discover.

I made sure the color of the flag on the far right contrasted the background color of the words in intensity, but that they still went well together. I also tried to keep it minimalist but break up the space with the variation in value at the same time. I also contrasted the size of the text to add a bit of variation. The mask, in addition to being a part of the meaning of the slide, also adds some shape and form to the slide. Finally, I made sure to space out the word section and the mask section to follow the rule of thirds.

When I was making my slide, I looked at the link you gave us on the slide presentation. There was a category on color. That stood out to me because it had said that “color is the very first thing people will notice.” So with my slide, I based it off of one color. Blue. It’s a collage of different shades of blue so it is not just one page of just one shade of a color. It also has to deal with repetition because I am repeating the same color, not exactly the same picture. In my slide I also included a picture of my team racing in our most recent regatta and a picture of the camp I worked at this summer.

All About Monie

All About Monie
This is my personal slide. The overall theme of my slide was to be simple but unique in its own way. My first priority was the color selection. I chose a pink hue because pink is one of my favorite colors, specifically lighter pinks. I chose a highly intense light pink to contrast against the black. Next on my list is the text. I wanted all the text in black to make it bold and stand out so there will be a lot of emphasis against the pink. But I also think that a light pink and a dark black will have harmony together. I wanted the color to just be flat so the texture of the slide was smooth and clean. I wanted to have my name centered on the slide for a few reasons. One reason is to represent me. I feel that my name can trigger a lot of things about me and I wanted it to be the main attraction on my slide. I chose this font because it looks elegant and sleek. The gradation size of font for the letters is to show how crazy I am. I decided to start it off big because I’m an outgoing person. As the font grows smaller, it’s to represent that they’re many things that are still to be revealed about me. The three periods are there to show that you that I’m very unpredictable. The periods and the shape I included is to express how extra I am. The shape, or stick figure, is to make my slide visual and memorable because it ties back to my Me Book project theme. It’s a repetition of my work. The position the stick figure is in is to show that I’m a fancy gal who is lazy which is why it is on ground. I didn’t want the stick figure to disproportion the whole slide so I put it into the bottom right corner to have empty space and also to have it look clean. I feel that if I put it somewhere else, it would throw off the balance with my letters. All my decisions connect back to me. It’s what I like and how I am. I hope you have a deeper understand of my slide.
