“The top prospect coming out of High School is Jack Davidson. He has really been on a tear lately, in his Junior year nearly averaging 18 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds a game.” Said the sports announcer.
“Yeah he really has been carrying the load for this basketball team and we hope he can do the same thing tonight in the state championship game against the Buckeyes.” Said the other sports announcer. Jack has been playing basketball his whole life. Since he was 5 years old, he has always dreamt of going to the league, the NBA. He would often go to the park around the corner from his house and impersonate all of his favorite players in the NBA. He would pretend to be like Jack Bryant with his signature fadeaway shot or like the flashy Dwyane Wade when going to the basket. At a very young age, he was able to realize that just playing around wasn’t going to get him anywhere. He worked and worked everyday to get to where he wants to be. Guys in their 20’s playing basketball against Jack Davidson would ask where his agent was because he was so good. And now, he is exactly where he wants to be right now. He is in the biggest lights of High School Basketball.
Comparing “Taming of the Shrew” to “50 first Dates”
The names of the play and the movie that I will be analyzing is “50 First Dates” and “The Taming of The Shrew.” The characters that I will be analyzing in the movie are Henry Roth(Adam Sandler) and Lucy Whitmore(Drew Barrymore). The characters in the play are Katherine and Petruchio. In the movie, the parent and brother of Lucy are very protective of her and try to make sure nothing goes wrong especially if their are different men that are brought into her life. In the play, Baptista is very accepting of Petruchio without even knowing him that well. The big difference between these two texts is that in the world of “Taming of the Shrew,” the daughters are there to be married, but in “50 First Dates” that is the last thing Lucy’s family wants for her. However, in the end, love wins out in both situations. This shows that society believes in love above all, even when there are major roadblocks that seem impossible to pass by.
“Ay, when the special thing is well obtained,
That is, her love, for that is all in all.
“Why, that is nothing. For I tell you, father,
I am as peremptory as she proud-minded;
And where two raging fires meet together,
They do consume the thing that feeds their fury.
Though little fire grows great with little wind,
Yet extreme gusts will blow out fire and all.
So I to her and so she yields to me,
For I am rough and woo not like a babe.
Well mayst thou woo, and happy be thy speed.
But be thou armed for some unhappy words.
This quote goes to describe how Petruchio will do everything he can to woo Katherine. Batista let's Petruchio know that he will have a hard time doing so. It’s so strange how Baptista is so accepting of him marrying Katherine. In a way, it's good for Katherine because it's her own decision. But as the reader learns, that is not the case. Katherine is taken and Baptista does nothing about it. Relating back to the thesis, the parent(Baptista) does not have a very big inference on the relationship between Katherine and Petruchio.
In this screenshot from the movie, The parent of Lucy and her Brother are talking with the main character, Henry. In this screenshot, they do not seem to fond of him but all Henry is doing is putting on a smile. Now at this time, Henry is not aware of Lucy’s memory loss so he is taking this all in pretty well. So, the parent and her brother want to make sure that this guy isn’t causing any trouble to Lucy because they literally do everything for her. So, the parents put a very big inference on the whole situation. There is no way that Henry would be able to date Lucy without them finding out because they are the cornerstone of Lucy’s life.
Thou hast hit it. Come, sit on me.
Asses are made to bear, and so are you
Women are made to bear, and so are you
No such jade as you, if me you mean.
In this quote, Petruchio is demanding Katherine to sit on him. He also states that women were made to comfort the man. This is obviously messed up, but it isn’t what is trying to be analyzed. This quote is showing that Katherine has no interest in getting married or even to Petruchio. As the story goes on, it shows that the marriage was forced on Katherine and Baptista did absolutely nothing about it because he didn't take the time to realize that his daughter did not want to be with this man. This ended up with her getting no protection from her father and being forced to marry Petruchio. Going back to the thesis statement, love goes above all. Even though there wasn't love initially for Katherine, she began to in the end as she was basically controlled by her lover Petruchio.
Without knowing the context of this picture, it may just seem like a normal day for the 2 main character eating at a restaurant. But, this is actually one of the 50 different times that Henry attempted to woo her. In the story, Lucy has short term memory loss. So, she forgets everything that happened the day before. Henry decided to take this to his “advantage” and try to make sure everything goes perfect during their first meet. But, before knowing that she had short term memory loss, he in a way successfully “wooed” her. But, she forgot the next day she was there and got very defensive when Henry approached her. After this day, Henry tried everyday and as he tried, he started to fall in love. Even though he has to deal with the short term memory loss, he had to go out of his way to convince the parent and brother that he means no harm and loves his daughter. Of course, it took a long time to gain their trust because they are so protective. But in the end, love win above all and were able to live a happy life while Henry had to remind her everyday of who she is in the future. In conclusion, Society can take dating and marriage in different ways. In terms of Taming of the Shrew, Baptista almost made it as a requirement to be married. So, he wasn’t very protective of her daughter Katherine. He just wanted her to get married. But in terms of 50 First Dates, the father didn't want anything to change about how she was living her life because of her condition. But in the end, love prevailed above all and ended with a marriage. So, society takes it in many different ways. It just depends who the person is.
I was never really a sporty guy. I went to school, did my work, played video games, and went to bed. I never really liked basketball in the first place. But, people were always asking if I played basketball because I was so tall. So, basketball didn’t seem that bad to try. A lot of my friends would go after school to play but I never did. So, I decided to go one day.
I got the hang of the game pretty quickly. I was getting pretty good too. Sometimes, I would go out late at night and try to work on my jump shot. All I could think about was basketball. I started to fall in love with the game.
I thought that I was ready to play in my first basketball league. There was a simple sign up and I was on a team. But it wasn't that easy. The league had a tryout to see how they would spread the teams out. I didn't really know how good I did because i didn't know what “good” was. But apparently, I was the best player on my team. That put me in total shock. I am the best player? How the heck were we going to win a game?
I had my very own jersey. It was just a t-shirt with a number on it but I didn't care. I was ready to play and I was motivated. I thought I was going to be the Lebron James of this league. Carry my team to some wins, win the playoffs etc. My family didn't play much basketball back in their day, so there wasn't much advice that could be given to me. I learned how to play basketball from NBA2K and most of the basketball games up on tv. So, my knowledge was not that high. But, I must have known something if I was the best player on my team.
My first basketball game was approaching me in 1 hour on a Wednesday. I got there half an hour early so I could get some shots up before the game. My shots were not going in. I started to get more and more nervous as each shot bounced off the rim and out. My mom was looking over at me with a weird and almost too excited face. It started to creep me out. She obviously was trying to keep a positive attitude about me missing all of these shots.
I saw some of the players on my team come in. We said our “hi’s” and “what’s up’s” to each other and they joined me in my shoot-around. Then players from the other team started to come in. My stomach started to growl a little bit but I knew that I wasn’t hungry. I didn’t really know what to do in this situation because I didn’t have much experience with these kind of situations.
But as I entered the game, I started to let all of the nerves go. I felt really confident in myself that I could score and that I could also get the win for my team. Boy, was I wrong. I ended up only scoring 1 point and losing by 20. I looked like a fool out there. I tried using some of the street basketball moves I learned with my friends but those didn't work. It seemed like that I had to know my limitations and to do what I can do. I was always a good rebounder. I had around 14 rebounds that game which was good for me. But when I got the rebound, I couldn't do anything with it on offense.
I was at the court everyday before my next game on wednesday trying to improve something about my game. If it was my shooting, and playback capability, I was trying to improve it. I didn't want to come into this next game missing a ton of shots and not knowing what I was doing. I figured out my role. I should have been using these rebounds to create baskets for me. A lot of these rebounds were on the offensive end so I felt that I could build off that and make me and my team in a better position. Because let's face it, if I can’t score, who will? We did lose by 20 so that isn't going to prove anything.
Wednesday was here. I was an hour away from my game. I knew that I had to really take action and show people that I can ball. I probably had lost the confidence from my teammates in me so I really had to earn that back. This was a statement game for me and my teammates. I had to go about like Curt Lemon and stop being afraid. I have to just go all in and do what I have to do. It is that simple.
My stomach wasn't growling. I wasn't sweating of fear. My jumpshot felt really good and I was going in consistently during warmups. I was ready. I knew it, my mom knew it, and my teammates knew. Unfortunately, coach didn't know it and put me on the bench to start the game out. I was pissed. I worked so hard over the week to improve myself and this coach decides to bench me. He had only seen 1 game from me. How could he have made that decisions quickly?
But it was okay. I ended up getting in the game without 5 minutes left in the first quarter. I was thinking to myself the whole entire time, “No mercy, no mercy, no mercy,” I hit the first shot that I took. It was a 3 pointer. Usually, those don't go in for me so I knew that this game was going to be special. And it was. Fourteen points, Twelve rebounds. Now that is a basketball game! But did we get the win? No. But for some reason, I didn't care. I was worried about my own stats and not the team. This had to change if we were going to get a win next week. Either someone has to turn into Kobe Bryant, or we need a real game plan. This was my first basketball league and I felt like I learned a lot. We only won 1 game out of the 8 we played that year and that was only because our team overall wasn't good. But at the same time, I felt very dominant because of the way I played. Just like Curt lemon, I felt very embarrassed the first time around. But I didn't give up. I made up for my mistakes and fixed them as soon as I could. . Because I knew the next time I played, I was going to dominate. And that is exactly what happened.
The performance of an NFL team can change drastically from one season to the next , even without major roster changes. Schedules are always flipping, giving teams a harder or easier year. Player performance is also very unpredictable. A player can go from having a great game to a terrible game in the span of one week. How do some teams go from first to worse or worse to first in a short matter of time? the psychological pressure teams go through over the course of the season play a larger role than any physical strength or weakness a player might have.
One of the reasons that the records change so drastically is the schedules that teams have every year. The schedule is determined by the conference and division that the team is located. In the first half of the regular season, the Falcons went against team such as the Ravens, Bears, Bengals, Giants, and the Lions. These were all very good teams last year. Each team has an all-star caliber player such as Calvin Johnson, Odell Beckham jr, and A.J. Green. In 2015, the Falcons are now 4-0. They have played an injured Cowboys team, a confused Eagles team, the no offence Texans, and the Giants. Scheduling has the ability to determine how well a football season will go. Teams like the Green Bay Packers don’t have to deal with the scheduling issue because they are such a dominant force in the NFL. All of these teams that the falcons have played are low tier teams in the NFL. The Giants did not get as much use out of their all-star WR (Wide Receiver) Odell Beckham Jr. The Cowboys are without their 2 best players, Dez Bryant and Tony Romo. Those are tough spots to fill. In the first game of the season, they played the Eagles. The eagles were still figuring themselves out and how to use Pro Bowl RB (Running Back) Demarco Murray. Also, Texans have always been bad. One of the reasons that some teams records change so drastically through one season is because of the scheduling.
Football is a very unpredictable sport. Things can suddenly change out of nowhere because either a player quickly emerged on the team and a Pro Bowl player has a bad season. Joe Flacco is one of the better quarterbacks in the League. He is also known for being very good in clutch situations because he shows no emotion and he is always calm. He has been playing very well in his career since 2008 and won a Superbowl in 2012. So far for Joe Flacco this season, it has been very disappointing for Ravens fans to watch. He has thrown 5 TD (touchdowns) and 5 INT (interceptions) in the past 4 games of this season (an interception is when a pass is caught by the defense. This leads to a turnover which gives the other team the ball on offence). The Ravens are 1-3. at this rate, he will have 20 TD (touchdowns) and 20 INT (interceptions) by the end of the regular season. At the rate that Joe Flacco is going, he is going to have a bad season and it will be shown by the record that they have. Now, this would not be his worst year but, compared to last year (Throwing 27 TD’s and 12 INT’s), It looks very bad. The Ravens didn't lose anyone that he was already throwing the ball too. Players in the NFL can go from beast to bust. Something could have changed during the off-season. But the truth is, people don’t know why they are having a slump. But everything happens for a reason.
NFL teams are put into different types of pressure depending on the production of last year. In 2014, The Colts made it all the way to the AFC (American Football Conference) Playoff game where they lost 45-7. They have gotten 1 step closer to a Superbowl every year. So this year, they are projected to make it all the way to the Superbowl and win. But, based off their 1-3 start, it does not look that way. The quarterback Andrew Luck has now had the high expectations he has ever had and now he is feeling the pressure. He has the lowest passer rating in the NFL. He has thrown 5 touchdowns and 7 interceptions . At this rate, He will have 20 TD’s and 28 INT by the end of the regular season. That is nowhere near as good as his 40 TD’s and 16 INT last season. This is one of the reasons why NFL teams can go from first to worst or worst to first. In the statistics, Andrew Luck was one of the best Quarterbacks in the league. Now, he is not looking so good this year. This is because of the pressure he is facing and he has consistently improved every year he has been in the NFL. But as soon as he hears predictions from Hall of Fame NFL players saying that he can take his team to a Superbowl, he quickly sank down. This is also true for other teams such as the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have nothing to lose and nobody thought they were going to do anything this year. They have no pressure on them. And that is why they are 2-2. At this pace, they will end the season 8-8, much better than their 3-13 record last year. The addition of pressure can make or break a team. If a team is put under no pressure, they can have a better season than they thought they were going to have. But, a team with a lot of pressure to win might feel like they have to always win which sometimes turns those teams into bad teams because of the pressure they are facing.
Although people who don’t watch football might not think that NFL records matter much. But in reality, its influence goes beyond football to the real world and sports in general. This can happen in all sports. This also creates a huge impact to the sport for the teams and also the players. Everything happens for a reason.

David Levithan’s book Every Day is told from a teenager that experiences many lives at a time. Throughout the book, the reader experiences the teenagers many lives and follows him in the story. Its hard to keep up with the teenager because the teenager is going experience completely different events every day. This is very crucial to the reader because the reader could get lost at any point of the story. The author tries to put in many different analogies and metaphors of love to help the reader catch up with the story and also have a better understanding.
In the story, the main character is dealing with a lot of love problems. But, the character is in a different body every day. So, the story changes, the events change, and the feelings change from both sides. Its difficult for the reader to figure out how he’s feeling in each body because It changing constantly. “This is what love does: It makes you want to rewrite the world. It makes you want to choose the characters, build the scenery, guide the plot. The person you love sits across from you, and you want to do everything in your power to make it possible, endlessly possible. And when it’s just the two of you, alone in a room, you can pretend that this is how it is, this is how it will be.” The author is using a metaphor to show love compared to writing the real world. In the main characters case, the story is always being rewritten for them. they have many characters to choose from because they are constantly changing bodies. The main character is living in a new house everyday and they also experience a new life which can create new plots. Whenever the main character gets a chance to see her (the lover), the main character tries to make it as if they are never going to leave. But they can’t stay forever. And that is what this quote (metaphor) is explaining to the reader. This builds an understanding of what is going on in the main characters mind and the world outside.
The main character starts to see her more often. To him, it feels like a normal relationship. The main character has been so used to changing bodies that it has become a daily routine. But to her, It feels like a new relationship everyday as if she is moving through time from one relationship to the next. “The moment you fall in love feels like it has centuries behind it, generations - all of them rearranging themselves so this precise, remarkable intersection could happen. In your heart, in your bones, no matter how silly you know it is, you feel that everything has been leading to this, all the secret arrows were pointing here, the universe and time itself crafted this long ago, and you are just now realizing it, you are just now arriving at the place you were always meant to be.” This quote talks about their relationship has gone through so many events. From sneaking around to emailing eachother everyday; it has gotten hectic. The universe went through a lot of transitions including evolution. This relationship is in a way like evolution. Using a metaphor to compare the relationship to time and evolution can help the reader understand what has been going on. It also shows the struggles that the main character and her have encountered.
The main character has never met anyone else who has this “curse”. He is the only one known in the book who can change bodies each and everyday. He begins to see everyone else living normal lives. “Ultimately, the universe doesn't care about us. Time doesn't care about us. That's why we have to care about each other.” This quote is explaining that the universe doesn't care about anyone and the main character. If the universe had cared, the universe would have not given the main character this curse. The main character had never cared for somebody like they do to this girl. They don’t know their parents or any relatives. So, he wants to care for others and he wants to be cared for. And thats what he got. This quote uses a metaphor to compare the universe to the people. This helps give an understanding of what the main character feels about changing into different bodies everyday.
This book can be confusing. That s what some of the book reviewers thought.
“I mean that I did like the book, but found myself frustrated because I was forced to question every single damn thing. There was something about the entire story that suffocated the hell out of me. My head hurt from trying to figure out how all of 'this' was supposed to work.”
This reader has a hard time understanding what was going on in the story and also the overall message of the story. This type of writing can be challenging. The story is like a bunch of different short stories but they all connect. So, it is good that the author decided to include metaphors and analogies. This helps the reader finish the book and know what went on because of the analogies and metaphors. The book could of gone without them but the book would be far too challenging. In conclusion, this book can be hard to understand. But all of the different analogies and metaphors about love can help the reader develop the main idea of what is going on. Although some of the book reviewers seem to not like the book; having a full understanding of the book can really change the readers mind. The quotes in the story showed all of the main characters feelings and also most of the girls feelings.

It weird that they would what you don’t like
Why are you asking where did you live. This has all got to be formal (very important).
Your fifth question seems off
cuando es i think anos needs an ñ. Your last question makes sense could use some better phrases
I personal think that all of your questions are great and the answer are even better. It’s simple and I love that when it comes to an answer. Also your questions are fine because I know a couple of places that actually ask you questions like where do you like because they want to know the type of neighborhood you live in and how long it may take you to get to work. Also your anos need an accent over the n like Jared said. Other than that I think you script is fine! Also I love the color coding but when you print out or if you print in black and white make sure to change it back to black you could maybe bold the questions or put them in a bigger font; just don’t print in black and white with those colors.

It is short answers and the colors make it stick out which makes it great. Everything is good just make sure you put the correct accents and is you leave you answer key in make sure it is in spanish.
Its short and simple and it seems that everything is conjugated correctly.

All the grammar is correct, short, and simple. Great job!
(listening to music) We have been listening to the same 5 songs for 2 years. When will he find a new taste in music? “Let that shit burn, let that shit burn.” I get it. You're burning something. I guess he just can't let go of it. I’m only allowed to listen to whatever he wants to. And when we are done listening to music, he is out of the “zone” and decides to forget about me. He is always treating me like trash. He constantly uses me and and he never cleans his ears! Its disgusting. He throws me under the bed and doesn't remember me until its time to “chill.” He sometimes treats me with respect. He would rather be with me then talk to his friends or even listen to his teachers while in class.
I am so tired of the way he treats me. I should be treated with respect just like anyone else. He may not think of me as much. But I have been there for him for everything! When he got an A+ in Calculus, we celebrated with some Meek Mill. When he had his first breakup, we were listening to Drake and Taylor Swift for hours. He felt comfortable when he was with me. Not a worry in the world. The important thing here is that I am everything to him. I don’t care about all of the other ones he had. None of them do it like I do. He chose me. And he shouldn't be treating me like such trash.
When I first met him, we were in a store. I was looking at him. He was looking at me. I dont know what was going through my mind. I just knew that he could be the one. I was never with anyone before. My father Steve never approved of me being with someone. He told me that I wasn’t “Built out.” But now I am. I have a pretty big bass. Nobody else in the store looked at me like he did. His mother looked like that she was trying to figure out what he was looking at. I didn’t know what to do or think. I accidentally fell over. He gracefully helped me up. He said “Mom, I think I want this,” He opened me up to a whole new world that day. And I knew that I was on the path to happiness. That was a huge mistake to think that happiness is real. Unless you are listening to Happy by Pharrell. He listens to it all of the time.
I am so tired of him. I've been with him for two years and I cannot deal with it. Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something because of their abilities, qualities, or achievements. He hasn't done anything for me, and I cant take it anymore! I think I should shut it all down.
I don't know if I should shut it all down. I love giving people joy as they listen to whatever music they want out of me. I feel like I serve a purpose in life. And to just end it all will leave me a lot of questions. Where will I go? What will happen next?
I think I know what I have to do. I will hide away where he can’t find me. I will stay hidden for a week. If he cares for me, he will try to find me and wait. If he buys a new pair, I’m shutting it down. If he comes back, I hope he will give the same appreciation as he would to a new pair of ear-buds (sits in silence).
The date was February 19th, 2011. I was a video game addict and I played 8 hours a day. I was addicted ever since I got my first xbox when I was 5. I couldn’t get off it. I started playing video games at the age of 3 (when I got my first Nintendo 64). My parents thought that I had a serious problem because they would hear me screaming, shouting, and crying from upstairs. Anyway, I was playing Call of Duty, Modern Warfare II. I tried to stop playing these shooting games because they gave me so much infuriation. But I couldn't stop. I was playing online with my friend Peter and talking with him over Xbox Live while playing Call of duty. “Yo, join my session Peter,” I explained.
“Send me an invite,”
Peter joined my session and we entered a Team Deathmatch on the map Terminal. Terminal is the airport map.
I was on a roll the past couple weeks. My kill to death ratio was a 3.0. This means for every 3 kills, I would die once. for my 3 killstreaks (rewards for getting a certain amount of kills without dying), I used “Harrier Strike” (7 killstreak), “Chopper Gunner”(11 killstreak), and “Tactical Nuke” (25 killstreak). The harrier strike had 2 waves of bombs on an airplane crashing down on the map. The Chopper Gunner is a user controlled helicopter that shoots people from above. And the nuke is a explosion that ends that game (giving automatic victory).
We were finally in the 6 vs. 6 Team Deathmatch. I run straight to the back of the first airplane behind a couple of explosive barrels. 3 enemies come from the front of the airplane. I shoot all 3 of them down with my UMP45 sub-machinegun. “Triple Kill! Triple Kill!” I screamed into the heatset. I heard footsteps from upstairs begin to approach the door that leads to the basement (where I was playing). The door slams open.
“Hey! Be quiet down there!” My dad said, pissed off. He slammed the door shut.
“why don’t you be quiet,” I murmured to myself as if I was talking to my dad.
“You talkin to me?” Peter said.
“No. My dad was being annoying.” Four more guys came to the front of the airplane. I gunned them all down with joy. “Got a Harrier Strike,”
“Damn bro, that was quick as shit.” Peter said with a confused tone. I realized that this spot was not going to last very long. I quickly hid behind the Burger King in the airport. The whole team of 6 comes running in my direction. I remain quiet. I thought it was funny how I was quiet in real life while hiding in the video game. All 6 of those guys went to different spots. I managed to kill 4 of them and get back to my hiding spot.
“I got my Chopper Gunner!” I screamed.
“Adam! Shut the hell up!” My dad screamed. “One more time and the game is coming off!”
“How are you getting these killstreaks so fast!” Peter screamed.
“I have a lot of skill as you may know,” I explained. I called in the Chopper Gunner and managed to get 13 kills inside of the Chopper Gunner. “One more kill until I get a Nuke.”
“This is some bullshit. its only been like a minute and a half,” Peter said. I walked out of the Burger King. I was so excited yet so very scared that I could possibly die. I saw red on my scream. It was blood. I a saw a glimpse of my dead body as I respawned into the game. “Oh my god! My bad bro I didnt mean to kill you. Oh my god you are probably so pissed,”
I was so enraged that I couldn't speak. I threw a fastball with my controller at the wall. both back triggers fell out and both analog sticks were stuck and unusable. I broke my controlled and now I was ready to speak. “Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously! I’m gonna fucking kill you! This is some serious bullshit! I am so done with this bitch ass shitty piece of garbage! ahh!” I began to hear the footsteps again. My dad slammed the door open and ran down the steps as fast as he could. He shut my Xbox off and I began to cry. Video games meant everything to me.
I played video games all the time, got angry, and broke things. It may seem funny to most people. But, the experience is nothing to be laughed at. a lot of other people can relate to talking in this way. They are constantly cursing and everyone else thinks it is hilarious. But to that person (like me), it might not be so funny. Controlling the anger is almost impossible to do. It is as if the devil takes my body over for a short period of time to spread the word of satan.
Now, I try to escape that way of speaking. Every single sentence I said not around my parents ended with a curse word. And now I don’t. But I can sometimes return to this way of chatting. Some ways that I try to not speak this way is to laugh when I get very angry. If I got infuriated because somebody killed me, I would chuckle and move on. It lightens the mood making me able to not babble in that way. While I was looking back at this moment, I realized how many times I did this in my past. But now I have learned to not rattle on in that way based on how much I have matured.
“People evolve a language in order to describe and thus control their circumstances, or in order not to be submerged by a reality that they cannot articulate. (And, if they cannot articulate it, they are submerged.)” This quote from James Baldwin can relate to me. I will speak differently based on who I am talking with. When I am talking to my parents, I blather “normally.” I don’t use any swears because that would be disrespectful to them. But, when I am talking with my friends, I sometimes feel as if I have “no boundaries.” Language depends on the situation that the person is in.

Reflection: We would try to use different types of chocolates so we could compared the times of original chocolate, to the different types of chocolate.
My name is Adam Cavalier, and I am a 9th grader a Science leadership Academy on 22nd and arch. For a project, we were given a choice to take on a problem in the world and post blogs about your opinions, facts etc. So, I am doing my project on video game violence and how everyone can raise the awareness. Also I am talking about how violence can be created from any game. This is my third blog post. In my first blog post, I introduced the topic (video game violence) and how it can be stopped and also how the awareness can be spread. To see my first blog post, click here. In my second blog post, I talked about a survey I created and how it helped give new information to me about different opinions from others besides myself. To see my second blog post, click here.
In the last phase of this project, I created a survey to get different opinions on video game violence. The opinions were at a 50-50 rate. So they were very even. The pictures that I have taken were pictures from my advisory presentation I gave on the fifteenth of May.
For my topic, most people that have studied video game violence will create some sort of article or give information out to the world on the internet to raise awareness. Some people make video’s on youtube where people will get very mad at a video game and go insane and break stuff. It’s funny but at the same time its raising awareness and they don’t even know it! I think these changes can be effective, but not a lot of people are actually going out into the real world and trying to raise awareness.
In my agent of change assignment, I decided to create a presentation about video game violence and present it to my advisory classmates. I made a change by informing the people I know about a topic they thought could be funny on the internet. But now they know that it can turn out to be much more than that. And now those people can spread the awareness out to people they know etc. This project was a lot of fun to do. I was studying a topic that I am really into and I am glad that I was able to do a school assignment that is relatable and enjoyable. I learned that the funny videos that I was watching on the internet where people were breaking things because of a video games can get much more serious. And I also learned a lot more about video games that I didn't even know. I thought I knew everything (playing 5-6 hours a day)!
Something that I could of done better was to try to make my awareness bigger. Presenting to a class that only had around 20 kids might not be enough. And not a lot of them might even care about the topic and won’t try to raise the awareness of video game violence. I think the best thing to do now is to keep raising the awareness of video game violence. For the gamers that create violence, they should cut back on the games a little bit or to control that anger inside while playing the video game. It’s a video game! It is a virtual world that you are living inside. There is no reason for these people to be getting so enraged! Creating all of these blogs and doing the best I can to raise the awareness of violent video games has been fun. It has also been amazing to learn about a topic that I personally enjoy for a school assignment. It’s just like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Creating the survey, giving a presentation, and writing everything in blog post has been great. I hope the awareness of video game violence will not just go to the gamers, but to the people too.

1. The negative space is the space around a drawing that is very calm to the eye while looking at something else on the paper. It also increases your appeal to what isn't the negative space because it is what you are mostly looking at.
2. In my negative space cut out, I have a owl and a bat. The background (which is red) is the negative space that is around the yellows strips of paper that I glued onto the paper. Within the red space, you can see the owl in the negative space. But in the positive space, (the yellow) you can see a bat. The red space is very calm while the yellow is popping right at you. In my still life drawing, the negative space is everything except the table, chair, and plant. THe negative space makes the drawings I made on the paper pop out more.
3. It’s good to see negative space in a drawing because it gives the person who is looking at the drawing has a place to calm their eyes with. It’s not the actual drawing, But it make the drawing pop out more because of all the negative space.
4. When using negative space, you can create two drawings in one! for example, is it a rabbit or a duck? The negative space around that drawing is used to create 2 different things. Just like in my cut out.
a. One thing that I learned about that I didn't know before would be how to draw 3 dimensional chairs and tables. At first it seemed like the most complicated thing to learn how to do. But once I got it down, it wasn't so bad. Another thing I learned about were orthogonal lines.
b. I think this really helped with spacing my drawings in the future. some things would just be all over the place. But when I keep everything in the right spot, it looks great because everything is where it is supposed to be.
c. If I did this this again, I would try not to draw so hard on the paper. We only got one paper. So when I messed up and had to erase, it was a huge struggle to get those lines out.
d. My advice would be to make sure that your lines are straight and accurate and are at the right measurement. If they aren't, that could totally change the perspective of the picture.
e. I think my classmates were a big help. Some of them were showing me how big to make my lines and I got to see examples of how others did it. Also, the website really helped. It delivered a step by step instruction on how to do everything.

This is my second blog post. In my first blog post, I introduced video game violence and what it was all about. I didn’t take the topic into a super deep thought because I wasn’t super advanced on the topic. Also, I talked about how competition in video games can lead to getting angry and the genre of a game sometimes does not matter. The game could still lead to anger! To see the blog, click here.
These websites are some that I were able to get some new information about…
For my original research, I decided to type up a survey and send it out for anyone to complete. A total of 33 people completed my survey. One of the questions I asked were “Would you enjoy a game better if the game had an easier difficulty and did not make you so angry?” I was very surprised when most of the responses said no. It seems to be that most of the hardcore gamers' said no. This may be because the hardcore gamers' like the competition and challenge whereas the casual gamers' sometimes do not.
Another one of my questions was “did a video game ever make you angry?” I was not surprised by the results at all. It turned out that more people got angry at a video game rather than not getting angry. My follow up question was “What games made you mad?” The most frequent response was "Flappy Bird" and some hardcore games (For ex. "Call of Duty", "Halo", "Gears of War" etc.).
This survey helped my understanding of my topic and what people thought about my topic. I was very surprised of my results. I figured that most people would like to have an easier difficulty on the side of games. but it seems that some actually do. I was curious of how many people would say yes considering there are more casual gamers' than hardcore gamers'. So this can be somewhat an issue to people and all video games around. Here are some of my survey results here.
Here are the rest of the survey results
My class is assigned to go out and to either tell people about the project, do community service etc. This is called the “Agent of Change” project. This project will be completed in the spring. For my idea of the “Agent of Change,”I am thinking to present to my advisory about the topic because I think a lot of the kids in my advisory class have gotten angry at a game. I want to explain to them why this happens and how they can resolve this problem they have with some games they play.

For a project, we were given a choice to take on a problem in the world and post blogs about your opinions, facts etc. So, my project is on violence in video games and how violent video games don't cause aggression differently than a non- violent game and how there are ways we can lower the violence and aggression.
So, A new game just released and you decide to pick up the game to try it out. The game turns out to be ridiculously annoying and challenging. You get so angry the controller ends up creating a crack on the wall. You end up returning the initial game and decided to pick up a completely different type of game that had no relations to the first game. The game is played for a while. Also, this game turned out to be ridiculously annoying and challenging. There goes another controller…
No matter what type of video game is played, it will cause aggression depending on your experience and not the actual game. Playing “Call of Duty” and “Hello Kitty Adventure” can both lead to aggression. I have played video games my whole life and I can truly say I have had aggression from a lot of video games. Not just violent ones. It’s the games that seem super difficult, annoying, and challenging. I think there are results to this huge problem mostly every gamer has in their life. either they could go and play some casual games that most likely won’t cause aggression. Or, some games that seem challenging need to include a more balance difficulty level. Mostly every game should give the gamer a choice of difficulty. Not just some games. Mostly every game should. This could possibly end the broken controllers, the broken walls, and taking out your anger on someone else (which i have experienced). All the money that is wasted on controllers won’t be wasted anymore. You might say to yourself “Can't we just protect the controllers better so they don't break?” It is a possibility but it will still be able to knock over stuff. And the controllers wouldn't have the original feel a gamer is used to. Maybe next Generation…
If you're a gamer or your friend is a gamer, you should be very concerned about this topic. If the friend gets mad at a game, that friend might take it out on you.
As said by “Forbes” blog post, “...aggression behavior doesn’t stem from video games: It stems from competition.” This means that aggression does not come from what the game is; it comes from what you do in the game (gameplay).
This is a very good example of how violent video games do not cause aggression. Just because video games are violent doesn’t mean they will cause people to be violent. When moving on to my 2nd blog, I hope to get more research on examples of huge situation (involving violence) about video games. That would sound very interesting. Also, What games mostly cause aggression in video games?
This is a picture of a screen that gives the
option for a difficulty level. this is an
example of something we need in every game.
This is a picture of a kid getting very
mad at a video game. This is a
situation that should be avoided,
This young kid should not have to
scream and feel angry.
One thing about me is I like to play basketball. Its a fun sport to play and also a rough sport to play. The things I look back on when I think of basketball and the NBA are the greatest accomplishments that could possible be done. Back in the 1900’s, a man by the name of wilt chamberlain (Former sixers player and Lakers player) Scored 100 points in a single game against the New york knicks. I thought to myself “how is this even possible? This is amazing!” Another great accomplishment that happens in the NBA is winning a championship. The glory players must feel when winning a championship is indescribable whether it be from back then or now. Dreaming big is what can get you ahead and putting in the hard work to accomplish that dream. That is something I admire about some of these NBA players. They go for a dream and make it happen. That is something I would like to do one day. I used a majority of colors such as red, orange, white, silver and yellow. All of the colors I used were hot colors. I used the full size of the presentation to try to make the explanation of my slide as simple as possible. The shapes I used in my presentation were mostly squares and circles. I used no 3 dimensional pictures. I created imaginary lines to create the alignment of the pictures I chose. There is no specific pattern to the presentation rather then having to do with the presentation slide itself. This is my slide.
