When it came to talking with Stephanie, she is a colombian born American. When she was younger around 1-5 she spoke perfect spanish, but when she came to America... she lost is all. From ages 51/2-10 she spoke NO spanish or just very little. She taught me about what a mixed family expects from their children and the difficulties of trying to speak with family when she was younger.
