When reading Trevor Noah's book a part that stuck out to me was when he was talking about his school and his friends. He talked about how there was a struggle for him to find out where he belonged and what group of people he belonged with because unlike other kids he didn't seem to have a set place to belong or identify with. This inspired some aspects of my story. I also wanted to explore my identity. A culture where I can usually determine my identity is around my friends so I wrote about that culture. I decided to use some humor and a lot of metaphors to describe my story so that the reader could understand the dynamic and the thoughts going through my mind throughout my story. Because the reader had never hung out with my friends or experienced my experiences I decided to over explain some things about my story to help the reader visualize and feel the feelings that I did. I answered the question about how cultures affect out identity's by showing how being with my friends in the small culture we had created lead me to find new things out about my identity. Having the safe space in the culture with my friends to find out about who I am is how the culture affects identity.

I don't have words to describe this, this was a master piece. It had so many emotions and I really loved it and I can relate to it. But I truly loved this.
