Throughout reading The Handmaid's Tale in class and at home and through the countless annotations we had to do, I never thought about how motherhood plays a role in the world of Gilead. So I'm happy you brought that new idea to the story. I also appreciate how you talked about your personal experience with the book, it added another layer to your text. Overall it was a nice read. Nice job.

I actually do know a bit about ballet because I dance, however, you used information that was new to me as well. I found the connection between the dancers and how Offred could think of herself really interesting, as well as the connection between the Paris Opera dancers that were sex workers and the similarity this position holds to that of the handmaids. Also the picture is awesome. Great job!

Pompey: I appreciate reading someone who did the same prompt as mine, as it contrasts with mine greatly. (I think I may have done a close reading by accident) Not only did you relate personal interests to the reasons of mentioning ballerinas, but you also dived into it deeply. Great Work!

I thought this was a really interesting connection between the ballet and the characters in the book. I didn't think much about the mention in the book and this was a really strong perspective!

I really really love this. I knew nothing about this ballet (or ballet at all really), but this taught me a lot. I think you related the dancers and the handmaids really well, and did a great job of incorporating the text.
