Negative Space.

Negative Space is the space around or between an object. For example if you have an apple, you would draw the space around the apple.

In my Stool drawings, I found the negative space by creating the shapes the space was taking up. So for example, if two Stool legs have space between them, that space made a trapezoid. For my cut- out, to find the negative space, I just looked at the parts around the drawing.

It helps an artist to see negative space because they can see the shape and formation of an object to draw it almost to perfection.

In my opinion, negative space does enhance the drawing because it makes the object pop.
