A. What is negative space (explain this concept to a fourth grader that has never heard of it)
Negative Space is the space around and between an object. It is not the object of concentration in the picture, but the space around the object of concentration. For example, a picture may contain a garden background and a single pink flower in the middle. The flower does not count as the negative space. It is the positive space. The negative space would be the garden background.

B. Explain how you found negative space in your cut out?

I found the negative space in my cut out by the colors. I was given an ordinary black and grey and white printed photograph and cut out the parts without dark colors. The primary image in the picture was something indescribable, so I dubbed that my positive space. I cut around that image for the outlines.

C. Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?

Negative space entails, most times, the placement of the main picture, or the positive space.

D. Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings, why or why not?

Positive space enhances an image. I say this because the importance of a balanced image relies on how much positive or negative space is there. Say you have an image of a big tree, taking up most of the page. The positive space will be vast while the negative space would have lessened due to the size of the tree. It a very give and take scenario.
