This quarter was definitely more challenging that the last. It gave me the push I needed and I feel as if I am slowly moving the right direction as an artist. Unlike last quarter, there was limited self-doubt and bouts of anger over mistakes that I have made on a certain piece that I was making. My newfound self-confidence is bound to help me succeed again next quarter but even more than I did this quarter and last.
I felt that my best piece of work was my fabric drawing. By following Ms. Hull advice to draw what I saw and not what I thought I saw, I was able to make a drawing that I was happy with instead of disgusted by. I used the light to place the shadows in the right places and to highlight where it touched the fabric. With these steps in place, I hope the future holds even more discoveries about me as an artist.
