Sarah Cohen-Capstone Project

For my capstone, I made a lesson plan for 6-8th grade middle school students to teach them about the biases surrounding the Israel- Palestine Conflict. My goal was not to teach them what to think but how to think. This is important to me because in my Jewish education I did not learn much about the Israel-Palestine conflict. The summer before my junior year I went to Israel which compelled me to want to learn more about it. Upon doing this I discovered that there are many sources about the Israel Palestine Conflict. Many of the resources contradicted each other. This left me feeling confused and not knowing what to believe and what to do with all of the information. I wanted to do this project to help other students through this process. To do this I showed the students two videos explaining the conflict from organizations that had viewpoints about the conflict. I then had them answer questions about the videos. Only after that did I give them information about each organization. I did a lot of research and planning for this project and I am excited to share it with the world!
