"Shawn Mays: SLA X PHILLYBOLT"

For my senior capstone I got the honor to work with a non-profit organization in Philadelphia serving the urban population looking to bring a change to the community. Working with Grass root leader "Hillary Do" I was able to learn and gather the insight and mission behind what Phillly Bolt believes in. Throughout the 3rd & 4th Quarter I worked diligently to create SLA & Phillybolt agendas to teach the 9th grade mini course here at SLA every single Wednesday. Serving as the reminder that I am also a student made for a smooth transition into me teaching the mini course in the 4th quarter. With the clash of personalities and people that are here at SLA it was challenging to lead such an important mini course for both SLA and Philly bolt. It being the first time the organization came to a school like SLA made for the capstone project to be smooth like butter as it was a match made in heaven.
