Loren Jenkins 4th Quarter Art Work
For this will be my last quarter doing art in SLA I can say that my year in art class have improved my practice skills a lot. I am not a artist when it comes to sketches. My improvement is greatly shown from beginning to end. For example, I was very weak at understanding how to curve my pencil the right why then focusing on lines. Now I have found a easier way for me to not constantly make this mistake. One important lesson I learned in Art is that you may have to do more then one attempt because the first picture you do may not always be the best or the one you want. I believe that I have expressed growth in my weak areas, and this quarter proved that I can do it.
As I am a senior and leaving this year I wanted to do a tile that left just a symbol that I was here. I have worked hard in my 3 years at SLA and I want to be able to display that by any means. I don't know how long the ceiling tile will be there, but its there. I didn't see any other seniors in art doing this so I decided to be different. I wasn't really focused on finding something on the computer and then tracing it so I free hand.
