Slide 2

Posted by Jamekea Lee in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:39 am

In this slide I added a red background. I also changed the picture of me. I made it my bigger. I also used the rules of the third by having my picture in the center of slide. The picture of the jaguar is kind of bigger because I want people to know that I love jaguars a lot. Then I had the gorilla on the other side of my because I love them to but not as much as I love jaguars. I choose the red background because red is my favorite color. Black is my second favorite color so the gorilla represents that. Orange is my third favorite color and the jaguar represents that. I had the words at the bottom big so they stick out.

April Woodburn, Tech Class, My Slide Comparison

Posted by Alex Woodburn in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:37 am

Recently in Ms. Hull's ninth grade Tech Class, The Mean Green Stream has been working with slide design elements to help create successful slideshows for projects. To test our own design abilities, Ms. Hull had us create our own slides to represent ourselves. We had to present our slides in class and explain the design elements we used. My first slide design was this:

tech

I used a white background against black and red lettering for a high contrast effect that should catch the eye. you also see the element of contrast with the dark green army guy against white. the bright orange explosion against a brown box also provides a good sense of contrast. However, the text, while important, doesn't leave as big a mark on the viewer than the image. So the black text can be made smaller and put out of the way. Right now the top text draws the eye away from the big picture.

Here is my revised slide:

tech2

As you can see, I made the box and explosion much bigger to show the importance of them. The top text is much smaller so it does not distract the viewer from the big picture. I also made the more important text bigger and set it in front of the image so that it brings the eye down from the picture and to the text. I used the rule of the third to place the content so that the chaos looks organized.

Here you can look at them bigger.

Jeffrey's slide

Posted by Jeffery Schwartz in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:34 am

In my old slide I was more focused on the details of myself. But in my new slide I learned how to use different slide methods to make my slide more interesting. For example I used color contrast and dominance. The purple "YEA" Contrast the red and green. And the soccer ball contrast the black background. These rules also made my slide more simple and readable.

First Slide

Posted by Jamekea Lee in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:30 am

I choose to do this slide because I wanted to try and make my slide using all the things I learned from Presentation Zen. I used the rules of the three by having my picture in the middle of the two other pictures. That way people would look at me first then at the other two pictures. I used three bullet points to describe myself. Then I left space because I didn't want to take up to much space.

In my new slide I used the rule of the thirds a bit because I have the image to the right and my words on the left. I also chose to have the image cover the entire slide, while letting it bleed off. In addition to that I faded out the image and used contrast by making the words the same color as the man rock climbing. It still portrays the same idea as before but the slide is more organized.

My Slide Experience...

Posted by Rosemary Flite in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:23 am

The first slide was my first and I think I probably made a few mistakes. I think there was too much going on and the picture probably should not of been in the middle. I also think I should of not of made the text of my name so big because it takes away from the quote and the picture.

The second slide was my new slide. I faded my quote into the background and brought my picture to the side so that since I want my picture to be the main part of the slide you can be able to focus more on it and not anything else on the slide.

Byshera's new Slide

Posted by Byshera Moore-Williams in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:22 am

I changed the seize of the leaves and the worlds so that there would be the rule of the thirds. I also used contrast. The red leafs are a contrast to the white world and the white worlds are in contrast to the black bubble rap. I also used bleed off with the light moon so bleu is off. I think this one is better because put more thought in it.

Taylor Thomas's Awesome Slides!

Posted by Taylor Thomas in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:20 am

My first slide used the rule of thirds because the words from my favorite quote are at the top and bottom and my beautiful smile is in the middle. It also used contrast because the words from the quote are blue and red.

I thought that my slide was perfect the way it was, so I decided to make a new slide. I still wanted to focus on smiling so I stacked the smiley face on the left hand side. Still using the rule of thirds I put Smile in the 2/3 and 3/3 portion of the slide. I contrasted the black of the background with the purple, red, green, blue, pink and yellow of the smileys.

These slides use the large words, the rule of the thirds, and contrast. I thought that this was the best way to get someone's attention and to make people notice them.  This way everyone will be able to look at them and clearly understand the message, to smile.

Slide Merrik Saunders

Posted by Merrik Saunders in Technology - Hull on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:19 am

For my slide first I changed the size of my name.  It is all about me so I wanted me to be bigger.  Next I made my title one line to just under line my name.  The three pictures I made bigger and made the to on the end bleed off the end.  I also made them bigger so you can see them better.  For the swords I made them a little smaller and in the corners to be a crest.
