Dejah Harley & Tamatha Lancaster "Create" Artist Statement
In physics class, we discussed what a circuit was and the different types of circuits that there were. We learned of the differences between parallel and series circuits, which one is better in certain situations, and the formulas to measure certain things within the circuit. These things are the resistance, current, voltage, voltage drop, and power. These formula was Ohms Law and the Power formula. After learning this, we were asked to make a circuit within a sculpture that represent us. We chosed to make a circuit while sculpting something artistic because it represents our passions. With that in mind, we spelled the word “create” with wire while having lightbulbs in between sticking out of the canvas. These light bulbs light up above the circuit, while the actual circuit lies on the back of the canvas. Our circuit represents the one thing that we both love to do, create.
