I do not agree with your thesis. I believe on many occasions people are able to maneuver around laws, if it is considered ethical but in some cases it is not possible. If we look at American courts where people are tried based off of their actions they do not receive ethical treatment, they receive treatment based off the set in stone law. These laws are enforced by a judge who must comply with the laws.
Nice paper! You did convince me. This also made me think of assassinations, and their involvement in this debate. It is a law in most countries that killing someone is illegal. But assassinations take the viewpoint that killing this person has its ethical or moral advantages, and therefore should be disregarded by the law.
