My Attempt to Converse Without Word Reference

How can I maintain a conversation and communicate my ideas without having to use Word Reference to look up words to use?

Pre:

¿Qué tal?

¿Donde vive?

¿Como está el tiempo?

¿Como está la comida?

I'm nervous to just simply not use word reference. I rely on it so much because there are so many words I just don't know. This is going to be very difficult for me.

Frazer-Ireland pero vive en Londres

Javier- Spain

I had a good time with who I talked with. Frazer was really cool because he lived in London and I had just visited. If I messed up a bit he didn't mind since he spoke English. Javier was cool because he would correct me nicely, whereas I've had some people correct me sort of meanly. I learned that they both loved paella, which funnily enough I first tried in London.

This helped me a lot. It was sort of nice not having to rely on the dictionary. It was difficult but it forced me to only rely on the knowledge I have. My grammar of course still needs improvement and just generally expanding my vocab but doing this I'm already learning words.
