Reflection

The two regions I had were South America and Middle East & N. Africa. From my current region I chose Kuwait as the country I would research from the Middle East and N. Africa region and I chose Colombia as the country I would research from South America, my old region. Kuwait is a small country bordered by countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran. Kuwait is a very rich country that is a large producer of oil. Colombia is bordered by the Carribean bay. It had environmental problems with deforestation, but for the most part is a resource rich country.

Before I began my project I mapped out an outline in order to give my approach to this task some structure. I researched each of the five point frameworks for my countries first, recordered my resources and then I began brainstorming the different types of mediums I could use to present my information. I decided to make a website and from there began adding information and pictures to my website to make it center around the five point framework for each country.

Assessing each country for the five point framework was fairly easy, but it was difficult in a sense because while their were some detailed explanations in the book as to what the five point framework meant, I didn’t really understand the rating scale to well because I figured there were so many other outside variable shat could contribute to the climate or environment being the way it is.

I would add a “home” or “introductory page” about the two countries to give the reader/audience some background information about the two countries. I think it also would of been nice if I combined two mediums, if I pt up some articles or footage about the countries to entice the reader and give them more information.

I think this project was interesting , I think it could have been a little more fun or interesting for the student if we were given more ways to present this piece and focused more on the collapse of different societies from the past. Maybe create our own countries and determine whether they’ll collapse or not based on the five point framework.
