Reflection on Media Fluency

I learned a lot during this process. I learned that sometimes taking the simple route truly does make everything easier. I also learned that a lot of thought goes into slide design, and I never knew that it was so complex. Most importantly, I learned that it is important to do the research your teacher provides you with, because they’re giving it to you for a reason. When I went into creating my slide, I really tried to take into account the tips that the websites gave us. I decided to change everything about my slide. I chose a more inviting background and really made an effort to incorporate symmetry into my slide.

This is very nice. There is symmetry in the way you set up the sunflowers and its nice that you put the text as the main focus it looks very pleasing.

It is great how your slide is structured in a way where your eyes are directly drawn toward the words. I think that is a really powerful thing, and how even the simplest words you have on there can make a great impact on someone(in a positive way). I also think the color and the design over all fit really well together.

The fact that the text is in a simple font and is in the middle of the slide which makes my eyes draw right to it. Also the sunflowers on the background looks very visually appealing. The symmetry between the flowers is very pleasing to the eye and they really frame the slide. The only thing I would do differently would be to move the flowers higher to make the top and bottom have a similar amount of empty space.

I agree that a simple slide looks better overall! It makes it so that less is going on, and makes the slide easy to look at. The yellow background usually would not work with the yellow of the petals, but the shades are different, so the petals pop out. It's easy to focus on everything in this slide. Your reflection really shows that you learned a lot from this project.

Your slide improved from the original layout and design, because the very plain and simple choices you made paid off a lot. There is harmony within the yellow flower petals and yellow background. The black center of the sunflowers are highlight in the black text you chose. It is also very centered and the flowers draw attention around the words. Truly a calming and understandable design. You took your comments and made the design look better, and this slide shows it very well.
