Advance Essay- Keyonne Johnson
In my essay I talk about what kids have to do in their life but how some kids do not have the same problem. Sometimes does not have any one there to take there hand and help them through their life as a little kid.
My first time was that worst time for me, but I did not think that is would impact me so much later in life. I did not know that the people around me could care so much about one person that they just meet. Not give up on them even though they did not think that is was going to work and everytime I would go back there I thank them and work 120% harder because of what they did because of how they helped me get through a hard time in my life. “In the Congo, you grow up thinking about escape. When I was little, no one asked me what I wanted to become. They asked me where I wanted to go”. In some cases a lot of people do not go through some of the things that this kid has to go through and when I think of this it makes me remember the time were I was in a bad place at school and did not know how to go about things. I was breaking lot of things and doing whatever I wanted but then I found a gym with people that care about how I am feeling and that made me feel whole like I had lost something and after a year I have found it again. There is another thing that made me think of what other things that people or kids go through that not a lot of other kids go through.
There is a movie called beast of the southern wild and that has a kids perspective of them living in an environment that could flood at anytime. They have parties all the time and the school environment is not that good. There is this part were the father of a girl named hushpuppy is dying and he tells his daughter “No Crying” and for me that real hit me because sadly in this world things are taken from us and that will make us hurt but was have to be strong for the people that left us as my grandma said before she died “ boy you better not let anyone make you cry like that again because if they do I am beating your ass and then they ass” when he told hushpuppy that that is what it made me think of and that is one of the reason that I work so hard for everything I do even though sometimes I do not know what I am doing.
Advance essay #1 Friends First Rivals Later By:Keyonne Johnson
Adult supervison
In William Golding’s dystopian novel, The Lord of the Flies, the boys initially celebrate the absence of adult supervision and attempt to create a new civilization.
When they first go to the Island Ralph is there with piggy and Ralph ran down the hill and fell then piggy told him “My auntie told me not to run”(PG.9). After that Ralph says to piggy “Ass-mar”(PG.9). As you can tell but if you can't I will tell you. There are too different people on this Island the ones that want the comfort of a adult like piggy, and the one that is happy of the fact that there are no adults on the island and will have fun more than survive. In this quote there was a meeting and jake had to conch and started to agree with what Ralph was saying “We have got to have rules and obey them. After all, we are not savages. We are english and the english are best at everything. So we have got to do the right things.”(42) This quote by Ralph shows that they were trying to make their own civilization without supervision or guidance from adults. But they do not want to even listen to there themselves They try to survive so they set a plan to appoint a leader and a group of hunters to get food. However, the leader and the hunters have a argument about what to do and then they separate into two tribes.
In the book “Lord Of The Flies” by William Golding Piggy, one of the main characters to wake up on a island and one of the first things he said was. “This is an island. At least I think its an island. That's a reef out in the sea. Perhaps there aren't any grownups anywhere” (8). When Piggy said “perhaps there are not any grownups anywhere”, to me I think that he was relieved and yet he was scared because no one was there to supervise him. It seems like today's civilization operates the same thing within the government. Relieved that there are some things that are out of the way and accomplished yet society is scared of what might happen if that “thing”, such as resources, laws, organization, etc. fail that they have. Or they will make work, so to me it seems that they forgot the simple answer to the problem and that then made it more complicated. In a study talking about why teenagers are more impatient than adults. In a paragraph in the article is says that The structural connections between two key areas activated during decision making are not yet as strong in adolescents as they are in adults. So I think this means that when the kids were on the island they were trying to think of the fastest way off. Instead of trying to survive long enough to think of a good plan off the island. Another way to prove that the kids were have thing a hard time working on there “new Civilization” without parents is, when they were at the meeting about what to do and Ralph tells piggy to shut up and Ralph says the same thing piggy says After that piggy gets angry. “ That's what I said! I said about our meetings and things and then you said shut up-”(PG.43)
Another article that I found talks about why teenagers don't really want to be around their parents
In the book, “Lord Of The Flies”, by William Golding, kids are not understanding how hard it is to create a civilization. Without any guidance from adults they can not really tell the wrongs from the rights and that's why some of them did not make it off the island in one piece.

RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, mom, I am home. Oh sorry I forgot to I will get it done when I get done my
Breath
ok, but I need to do my homewo... ok mom fine I will get it done right now
Although really, I don't care about cleaning when I have homework that needs to be done
I don't understand why I have to do this now this is wasting time I could spend doing homework.
And you ask why I am failing a few of my classes. Ho, I did not say anything it's not like people listen to me anyway.
I am going to go to the bathroom I have to go take a whizz. What are you in my room for, I did not start cleaning it, wow ok where did you find that. No, I asked you a question first where did you find that at. Oh ok, so you went into my bag and found marijuana. It's cool because that's not mine I don't smoke.
Oh shit I don't have any idea what to do or what to say, I already know I am going to get kicked out the house for having it but if she knows I smoke it that means that I am dead.
If I tell you the truth than you will just talk over me and I never get what I wanted to say. If you really want to know you need to calm down and have a conversation with me like I am 17 Years old and a junior in high school.
SHIT do I really tell her the truth or do I make up something.
Are you ready mom? Ok then here is the truth. I am stressed you give me thirty things to do and then you get mad at me when I forget to do one thing you then you say that I am not getting anything done and I did not do anything but I clearly did and you can see what I did. You don't understand how much I have to do and you hit me when the things not there, like hitting me is going to make the situation better. Every night I go to sleep crying with no food in my stomach because we don't have money and I have to work two jobs just to get a bag of chips some sprite.
pause
Oh, that's not the half of it
pause
as soon as I come home you are always yelling at me like today. (Yelling) Stop talking when I am talking if you don't like it when people do it to you why would you do it to them
Breathe.
Thank you. Now another thing is that you want things done as soon as you say it that's not how it works you are treating me as a slave and I tell you things and you don't them right now so why, should I have to. What because you are an adult ok and I am a teenager and may people say I am a young gentleman, and gentlemen and men are adults so, I think you can call me an adult too. But I am a young adult so I should be able to make my own decisions. From now on, I want to be respected and when I say that I have more important things to do that means that I have homework to do, and if I don't get to it right away that does not mean that I will not get it done. So I guess what I am asking you to do is just chill out ok. Thank you. I am going to do my homework. Yeah… OH, the weed in my bag?

NEVER GET DOWN
“Mom I have decided on something,”,I said in a shy voice.
“What is it Keyonne, you can tell me I am your mother.” She replied confidently.
“I want to play football.”
“WHAT! FOOTBALL WHY WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME!”
“Well it looks like fun. I would not mind getting hit and knocking people down to the ground.”
“Boy I will knock you to the ground right now for saying that.” She roared at me,
Then she calmed down a bit. “Hey what made you want to play football anyway.”
“To me it looks like a lot of fun and I think it will be good exercise.”
“But you did not want to play soccer you can get exercise from that.” She responded.
“I am not too good at running a long distance, so it think I would be bad at it.” I said.
I could tell she really did not want me to play football but it had not come to me why she would not like me playing football.
She asked me again: “ Are you sure you want to play football.”
“Yes,” I replied.
“Why do you not want me to play.”
“BECAUSE PEOPLE GET HURT REALLY BADLY THEY HAVE CONCUSSION AND OTHER THINGS!” she replied.
“MOM PLEASE!” I said without a care in the world
“I will be fine we have coaches to tell us how to play so that will not happen to us little kids.”
” Well ok then fine I guess you can try it out but if you don't like it then you can always leave and do something else.”
“OK!” I say with the happiest smile on my face the next day I am coming from school and my mom says
“I have found a great football team near the house so you can was to it when I am not home and one of the people I work with sons play for that team to.”
“OH ok what is the team called,” I ask in amazement.
“Oaklane Wildcat.”
“And their first practice is tomorrow and I have all of your football supplies right there”
“ok thanks,” I turn and look in the living room and see a duffel bag full of pades and color red and black cleats with metal spikes and I was so happy because this was my first time doing anything like this I could not wait to go to practice. I woke up and I was SO happy I could not hold in the excitement after school that day I ran back home I was so sweaty that it looked liked I just go finished play a sport.
“I am guessing that you are ready for football then,” my mom said with a smile on her face.
“Yeah let's get going.” I said almost breaking the door down because of how much I wanted to go and play. The ride there I was shaking like I was opening a snapple but for some much longer we finally get there and I was terrified I get out the car and my mom says are
“you ready to go.”
And I nervously walk over to the coach my mom comes up to him and says
“HI I am keyonnes mom.” And the coach says
“HI I am coach Q.” I was so nervous I could barely speak and the coach said.
“so you must be keyonne nice to meet you.” and he shook my hand. And the coach asked me
“what do I know about football.” and I said
“nothing” then the coach said
“OK great let's get started.” after practice I was really tired and I did not want to do it any more because I did not think the team need me and so I told my mom and she said
“OK”
Then she talked to the coach and the coach said that was really good for a beginner he said it looks like he could do this a profession. And then he talked to me and said that you can't give up because something is hard you have to keep fighting for what you and till that day I never gave up on anything I did and I will not start.
