Representative Darrel Clarke was also responsible to advocating for the reconstruction of the Girard avenue and Spring Garden street stops along the Broad street line. Representative Clarke knew that those stations were anywhere from 75-80 years old and that they no longer met the Americans with Disabilities Guidelines. Using the money from the Federal American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, he has done close to 36.7 million dollars in work.

Although many people know him for changing the subway stops Representative Darrell Clarke is mostly know for his dispute with the Boy Scouts of America over their anti-discrimination policy. When the representative heard that the Boy Scouts weren't allowing homosexual males to be scout leaders he immediately started his plan to action. Representative Darrell Clarke was quoted saying “At the end of the day, you can not be in a city-owned facility being subsidized by the taxpayers and not have language in your lease that talks about nondiscrimination,”  “Negotiations are over.” The Boy Scouts had been living in their building since 1928 but now are facing eviction if they don't not pay up.
