Mary Had A Little Lamb
Mary Had A Little Lamb was just published. Everybody is using it as a nursery song. The song was published by an American schoolteacher. She was a novelist then she became a magazine editor. Here name is Sarah Josephina Hale. She was born in New Hampshire 1788 and died 1879. The nursery rhyme was published in May, people say it was published times before.
The song was inspired by a little girl that went to her school. Her name was Mary Sawyer and she
bought her pet lamb with her to school at the suggestion of her brother. Some people say that she
didn’t write the song by herself. She had the help of John Roulstone. Later on in time the music was
put with the words by Lowell Mason, he was from her home time also.
