Final Art Jawn

Posted by Saamir Baker in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:14 pm

In my final quarter of art I have completed 6 assignments, here they are in the slideshow embedded below.

In the first assignment, though I hated the website, I used it to recreate and edit photos I found online. The second assignment I made ten sketches of a portrait I found online, then drew one large portrait of my sketches. For my third assignment I made a online drawing of an island because it was something Ive never done before. For my forth assignment I made a road on a hill becaue I wanted to create an illusion of space. For my fifth assignment I did concepts of different textures then I recreated a still life that was given to us. On my final assignment I wanted to do something that represented what I learned so I did a haunted house

Final Art Slideshow

Posted by Fatu Castillo in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 7:07 pm

During the Fourth Quarter of Advanced Art, I created dozens of pieces of work from 6 collective assignments. They are all featured in my slideshow, going from oldest to newest.
First, I edited pictures my youngest brother, which I am unable to post for familia reasons, and myself to make it for the backgrounds were transparent. I edited two amigurumi animals I had made and photographed so that their colors were altered. Then I edit two photos I took from offline so that one was recolored and the other was made transparent.
Second, I sketch and later drew a figure drawing of a nude woman sitting on a stool. This assignment was tricky for me since I had no real prior experience dealing with proportions. I think the final product came out alright though not realistic.
Third, I decided to draw out 29 timed sketches for the Line Drawing assignment. Surprisingly, I found the experience very enjoyable. The pressure to draw the animals in a limited time meant that I couldn't focus on detail too much and had to go with the flow.
Fourth, I made 4 digital drawings using the website that Ms. Hull provided. I wasn't  a fan of the website at first but once I got the hang of it, it was fun to use. My favorite piece is the neon rainbow basket.
Fifth, I created a sketches of a neighborhood street that gave the illusion of space. Not one of my favorites assignments to work on, I felt as if more guidance could've been given.
Sixth, I sketched out a photo and used texture to fill in every aspect of it. I went into his assignment thinking it would be more difficult that it actually was and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Quarter 4 Artwork

Posted by Jhazzelle Majarucon in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 5:39 pm

In quarter 4, I learned a lot about the different types of art and I incorporated those into our artworks, For week 1, I took our own photographs and used the editing website called "pixlr" to transform the image into a different one. For week 2, I chose one of the pictures on the website and drew it on a blank piece of paper. For week 3, I did the blind contour drawing by picking objects that I want to draw in my surroundings. For week 4, I did a digital drawing online using different shapes and colors. For week 5, I created an illusion of space drawing. For week 6, I looked at an image that was provided and drew it. For the last and final artwork, I incorporated the whole elements of art on a piece of blank paper and added some colors on it.

Q4 Final Project

This last quarter was very interesting and fun. A part of me will definitely miss art class. I've tried my best to make professional looking art pieces. I've always looked at many other arts to inspire me to do what I've done.

Q4 Final Project

This last quarter was very fun in art. There were alot of fun and cool assignments we had to do. My favorite being the last one where we had to combine all of our skills to create one piece. I love drawing because it clears my head and Im proud that I had a class to do so. This quarter was so successful for me because not only did I enjoy the class but I feel like I worked real hard on these assignments.

Na'eem Q4

For my last quarter, I really exercised all my skills I learned throughout this year to create beautiful. My first assignment was very digital so it was exciting making art without a piece of paper! Then I went into body sketches which is always tough to execute. After that, I learned about sketching in 30 seconds which wasn't fun. I then took a try at digital art again. I will have to say that the optical illusion project was my favorite. I really enjoyed this quarter art!

Q4 Artworks Benchmark- Cynthia To

Posted by Cynthia To in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:17 am

For the fourth quarter, I did 7 different artworks. My favorite artwork that I did was Week 3. I think my art skills have improved a lot from the beginning of the school year. For the first artwork, I did photo editing which was really fun to do. It was really cool getting to crop out the background and add colors to the image to change it up. For the second artwork, I made figure drawings. This was really hard sketch a person from a picture and doing the correct estimates. For the third artwork, I made line drawing which was surprisingly really fun to do. For the fourth artwork, I made a digital drawing that was fun getting to change different shapes and sizes. For the fifth artwork, I made an illusion of spacing drawing. This was similar to what we did for freshmen year art. For the sixth artwork, I made an practicing texture drawing. For this piece, I was really easy because I wanted to sketch without erasing a lot and drawing for it for the first time. For the last artwork of the year, I made elements of art drawing. This is where I added all of my art skills this year into one piece.

During this quarter I grew as a better artist. Given the experience with line and shape drawing, my art work became better and better. I also liked the experience of coloring on the computer. It is a really hard skill to retain but I like doing it. I also enjoyed the texture of art, because I am usually not good at texture. I believe that I did really well in this quarter. Each quarter showed my progression. I believe my artwork turns out really nice now.

Artist Statement Q4

Posted by Benjamin Fink in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9:46 pm

My first art project involved using an online editing tool to alter images I had found on the internet. The second one involved trying to draw the figure of a man in a photograph using only lines and curves. Next, I used an online drawing tool to create some images of my own. Following that was a series of drawings that projected an illusion of space. I was supposed to create drawings that were designed to think there was more space in the backgrounds of the images. The penultimate drawing involved creating a copy of a still-life and adding texture to the drawing. Finally, I had to create a single drawing that incorporated all the elements of art that I knew of (i.e. color, texture, lines, dimensions).

Artist Statement Q3

Posted by Jordan Grayes in Advanced Art · Hull · x1 Band on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:12 am

This quarter in Advanced Art I challenged myself to apply actual effort into each of my pieces. I feel that in this quarter I accomplished my goals and my art work shows it. To start with, my bike drawing was one of my best works. I had to apply lots of my memory to this project. Next week, when tackling illusions, it was very challenging. But, I still managed to have a good product n the end. With the shading forms project there really wasn't much for me to express artistically in that project. Next for the eye drawing I was able to shade correctly and create a nice looking eye. It resembled that of an adult woman's eye. Finally, for the Mandala I decided to use as many colors as I could find and overall the final product was decent.
