I have a lot of fun at my ILP volunteering in the 4th grade class of my old elementary school. Over the course of the past few months I have gotten closer and more familiar with the teachers I work with. Sometimes I help them with little things that would save time for them if they didn't have to do it, such as filing; and other times I am able to work hands on with the students. A few of the hands on activities I have done include reading with the kids and testing their fluency, pulling groups to read and take notes on different books, and I also have helped kids make corrections on tests/quizzes. I enjoy my ILP and visiting my old school every week to help out.
My ILP has taught me a lot about the adult world, and also the early education field. The teachers are kind and the students are also very pleasant. My internship has also given me an opportunity to be hands on in classrooms and to be able to see the kind of education the young children are receiving. I also learned the components that are required in the growth, development, and care of a child.
For my ILP I'm in a law class that is taught by Drexel students. It's going very well, I'm learning a lot of new things that are very helpful in my everyday life. I've been learning about the different laws and debating skills. I may do it again next year as well because it's interesting. There is a debating competition but I did not do it this year but if I take the class again next year I will be participating in it.
Now, with my ILP at Technical.ly, I've been doing different research on startups and companies that can help Technical.ly when they branch out into different cities. I haven't been there every day, but whenever I am, I'm helping my mentor out with research and/or helping with the search towards different cities in the U.S.
I have been searching for an internship but I finally landed on Arch street Preschool. So far I have visited once and I really like it, I think my time there will be enjoyable.
As of now, I am volunteering at Arch Street Preschool. It is going well, i like the environment, the students, and the teachers. I worked there for the past two weeks and I really enjoy it.
The past few times that I have been at my ILP, were the best learning experiences for me because I was doing different things and I was learning more about the different things that go on at the Cat hospital. A few weeks ago, I actually got to assist in restocking the boarding room and meet some of the cats. I am still learning about how the cats behave in different environments and what different types of cat breeds there are. I am looking forward to learning about cat behaviors and even more about what goes on at the cat hospital.
I will be starting my ILP at WXPN this Wednesday, and I am really excited to get started. I am going to be working with a sound engineer at WXPN, and am hoping that this opportunity will help me learn more about the music industry, and I will be able to use this information that I learn in greater extent in the future. I am hoping that this will be fun and I will get to learn a lot too.
My ILP is going well, some weeks I cannot go because I have debate but Allison is very aware of that. We are just helping the freshman out by walking them to their classrooms and doing certain things that will later help Allison with the freshman and that's pretty much it.
My ILP is Photography. So on Wednesday after school I need to go to liberally and take a picture.
