My element is Helium. Its atomic symbol is "He" n the atomic symbol is "2". Helium is one of the most basic elements in the universe. It has 2 protons, neutrons, and electrons. Helium is lighter than air so it will float. Helium is commonly used in balloons for this property. Helium is also used in welding. The helium will protect the fresh weld for a moment so it can cool off enough for the weld to be functional. In my prints, you have a welder that is in the middle of welding. There is a lot of chaos in actual welding which is accurately depicted in the print. For the process of making the print, I started off with a sketch and then transferred that to tracing paper. I then put the tracing paper on a foam plate and traced the image onto the foam. From there, I put ink on the foam and put that on the paper. If I were to do this again, I would try to find a better tool for making lines in the foam. The lines I have now are a bit too thick. The part I enjoyed the most was the sketching. I liked being able to see what worked and what didn't. It was helpful for the result of my final prints.

What is Printmaking? - Ethan McLeer

Printmaking is important because it led to technology advances. With printmaking, people could create currency, create pottery, and found ways to document information and send it out in mass production.

I found this print online. I like it because it it very basic but it also sets a very surreal and post-apocalyptic mood. I also like how clean the print marks are. Where the white does show through, it is meant to show through.

I Notice:

  • I notice that this is like a mirror image of itself. It is also inverted color on the other side.

I Wonder:

  • I wonder if the artist was trying to communicate anything to the viewer.

What If:

  • What if this is depicting something that the maker wants you to s

One Slide Presentation

From the critique of my slide, I learned that I probably shouldn't bleed pictures off of the page, and should definitely take out most of my text. My first biggest change was to take out most of my text. Before, the text overwhelmed my slide and made the whole thing unbalanced.
The research that I did explained that a little is a lot. I tried to implement this into my slide everywhere possible. I also tried to reduce the amount of color I used in this slide to make things pop more. One source that I used that really helped me rebuild my slide was a website called garrreynolds.com. This website has many helpful tips for building an attractive slide.
In conclusion, I fixed the issues with my slide and hopefully made my slide look lots better.A good looking slide can be very helpful in the real world. It can be the difference from you getting a job or not or passing that final project.

I made my slide look very interesting. I added in only a few colors which I think tied the slides together. I also added in pictures to correspond to what I was talking about. One thing that influenced my choice of color schemes and picture placement was what I learned in tech class. The videos that I watched and the blogs that I read helped influence my decision to make my slide. One of the things that I used was the bleeding technique. That is where you make an image look as if it is running off of the slide. Another technique I used was color scale. I have colors that look well next to each other included in my slide.

Home Network - Ethan McLeer

1. My local area network (L.A.N), has my computer, my laptop, four phones, two iPads, and one Xbox One.

2. I have learned a lot about networks. One interesting thing that I earned about is bandwidth. When your are trying to download something, it will download faster with fewer devices on the home network.

3. One thing that I would tell someone about having a home network is bandwidth. Many of my friends download apps or games and it takes them a while. I would tell them to take devices off their home network to make the app or game download faster.

Home Network - Ethan McLeer

1. LAN (Local Area Network) is the network that all of your devices are connected to. Some of these devices may be your phone, your computer, or a gaming console.

2. Something that I learned about a home network is that at some point, it is connected to a wire that runs across the bottom of the ocean. I find that completely surreal and cool.

3. One thing that I would tell someone about a home network is all about bandwidth. If you have many devices on one network, it will be slow and laggy.
