Kimberly Gucciardi-Kriegh Capstone

Posted by Kimberly Gucciardi-Kriegh in Capstone · Estey/Menasion · Wed on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 9:37 am

For my capstone, I spent the year working on SLA’s Community Involvement Club (CIC). I scheduled volunteer opportunities that have more meaning, trained underclassmen to take over the club after I graduate, and creating a more organized system of informing students about upcoming events by making a website. The mission is to create a strong CIC staff that can reinforce the system I have been putting into place, all in hopes to improve the club and create a system that will serve the community. During CIC staff meetings, I make lesson plans for them, we brainstorm, and work on upcoming events. I have been curating a “master club document” and a club google drive folder with all the clubs contacts, advice, and steps to take. My guiding question for my capstone is “how can I create a lasting impact on the community in Philadelphia and SLA” During this capstone, I learned about how to improve my leadership skills. It was also rewarding to teach these lessons for the team and make sure they get something out of it. The most challenging part of my capstone process was having to find organizations in Philadelphia that make a real difference with organizations that fight for the homeless, rights for communities including people of color and LGBTQ+, and more. I wrote some personal reflection along with interviews from the CIC team, speaking about their experience as a leader and volunteer.

The website is constantly being updated with new events or lack thereof after the event passes and it is not necessary to promote any longer. On this website, you can find some pictures from this year's events under gallery and interviews with all the staff.

Bertram, Joyce. “How volunteerism can change your world” TEDxVilnius. May 5 2015.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXb6bDX9FDo

I have been apart of the Community Involvement Club at SLA since freshman year and led the club junior and senior year, this video was a nice reminder of why we volunteer and it expanded my ideas of why helping others is important. Something I discussed with my mentor is the importance of having a strong mission statement and this video gave me a lot of ideas on what could be included in one for CIC. It also expanded my knowledge behind why people volunteer. This video is what CIC is about and an inspiring message to get students to help. The speaker at this TEDtalk has gone on lots of mission trips and works at a non-profit where she gets volunteers to go on the trip.

Boyer, Nicole. “Encourage The Young Ones: Inspiring Students To Volunteer” Sadiq, Basil, Volunteer Match, January 9th 2017. https://blogs.volunteermatch.org/engagingvolunteers/2017/01/09/encourage-the-young-ones-inspiring-students-to-volunteer/

This website gave me ideas on ways to advertise volunteering to students. It expanded my perspective as to why it is important for students in particular to serve the community. It targets six different strategies and key components to making volunteering accessible and exciting to students. This site is practical to my capstone since it is tips for students. The tips given seem realistic for my project and I hope to implement some of them to my leadership skills. It gave me the idea to have some meetings with the Community Involvement Club staff and give them this information for this year and after I have graduated. The thing is, this source has great ideas but I want the SLA students to really want to volunteer. This source is very dedicated to volunteering and provides expertise on how to run non-profit organizations and ways to help locally.

Daugherty, Sue. “Food is Medicine” MANNA, Philadelphia

https://www.mannapa.org/volunteer/group-volunteers/

MANNA is really what inspired me to change the way the CIC club was organized last year. A big part of the change is finding more meaningful volunteer events to advertise. We currently have two dates for 10 SLA students per day to go work at the MANNA food kitchen close to the Franklin Institute in February. I hope the event is successful and we are able to form a relationship with them and help more people there in the future. This is an example of a local non-profit we are trying to help this year. MANNA has been accredited non-profit in Philadelphia since 1990.

Kuzma, Kay. “What Makes a Team Strong” Project Appleseed. September 1992.

http://www.appleseeds.org/team-strong.htm

While the majority of my capstone is creating a strong leadership team but this site provided me with more information about what makes a large group of people function. The CIC staff will benefit from the other tips about leadership but this source is more about the importance of organization and how to start creating systems that work for a large group of people. These are generally good skills for everyone involved in CIC to have moving forward. Project Appleseed is a nationwide non-profit that specifically helps volunteers. They specialize in educating people and hosting events on how to be a leader and help others.

“Making a difference through volunteers and nonprofit careers” Learn How to Become.

https://www.learnhowtobecome.org/volunteer-and-nonprofit-careers/

The majority of my project surrounds itself with SLA students and young people. This website provided me with more personal information. Currently, I am going into college undecided and nonprofit work is something for me to consider. This website really broke down my understanding regarding what that would mean for my future. This is something I could tell my CIC staff about if they are interested. This also provided me insight about where we are volunteering and what that means to the company involved. Learn How to Become always bases information on career experts, data, and primary sources. They are always up-to-date and is a frequent resource at Duke University, Stanford University, and more.

Reid, Stephanie. “Find Your Path to Civic Engagement” Serve Philadelphia.

https://serve.volunteermatch.org/

A large component of research for my capstone has been finding events. I have to keep in mind that the majority of us are under eighteen, we are unable to volunteer during school hours, and students at SLA come from all different areas and it would be helpful to help in a central location. This is just one of the government websites that I have found that work to help people locally. This provided me with more trustworthy websites to consult or non-profit leaders I am able to reach out to in the future. Last year, during the colder months, we hosted a school bake sale and donated the money to the National Immigration Law Center and I think doing in school events would be a convenient way for students to help out this winter.

“Serve Your Community- Cities” National Community and Service/ Americorps and Senior Corps

https://www.nationalservice.gov/serve/via/cities

Moving forward with writing my report, this site could be useful because it has volunteering statics about Philadelphia. This will most likely come up when writing my report and even if it does not it gave me information about Philadelphia residents helpful behavior that I found really interesting. I can talk about how even if people do not serve the community they do other things to help each other everyday. Since the premise of my project is helping people, this is generally good information to know. This information is from the National Community and Service that reports data and groups of people that are in need such as veterans.

“The Core Leadership Skills You Need in Every Role” Center for Creative Leadership, 2017.

https://www.ccl.org/articles/leading-effectively-articles/fundamental-4-core-leadership-skills-for-every-career-stage/

Since a large aspect of my capstone focuses on becoming a stronger leader myself and then working to train underclassmen to lead the club after I graduate, I need to dive deeper into what makes a strong and reliable leader. These tips are accessible to read and reasonable goals for us to follow which will make it easy for me to present to the CIC staff. This inspired me to present this information to them during meetings in the spring. The Center for Creative Leadership is globally recognized for promoting the power of leadership and works on teaching it to people.

Winerman, Lea. “Helping Others, Helping Ourselves” No 11, Volume 37. Page 38. American Psychological Association, December 2006.

https://www.apa.org/monitor/dec06/helping.aspx

This topic does not necessarily relate to my capstone project directly but it did give me a deeper understanding of the motives and psychology behind volunteering. It explained how in the human brain, there is a balance between actually having the compelling feeling to helping others and doing nice things to feel good about yourself. This is not something I will be presenting in my capstone but it expanded my thinking beyond my personal motive which is to actually help others. The American Psychological Association was founded at Clark University in 1892 and they are the largest professional organization of physcology.

Wu, Huiting. “Social Impact of Volunteerism” Points of Light Institute, Atlanta Georgia, August 30 2011.

http://www.pointsoflight.org/sites/default/files/site-content/files/social_impact_of_volunteerism_pdf.pdf

This was one of the most useful resources for my project. It targets the different aspects of volunteering, meaning how it affects those volunteer, the economy, nonprofits, and the people that are receiving the help. It mostly explained how it affects the people volunteering which is the basis of my project and how much it would help to create a more social atmosphere and make a club where everyone knows each other. It also provided me with some personal knowledge about the business side of non-profit work. This inspired me to think about asking teachers again if they would be interested in sponsoring our club. Right now we have a teacher sponsor but I am going to look for someone dedicated to volunteering like we had a few years ago. Points of Light Institute is a trusted non-profit started by George H. W. Bush and works to provide people with advice on how to solve social problems in our community.

Kimberly's Articles

McCormack, Aidan. “The Truth Can Get a Little Hairy: Reflections on Body Hair, Feminism and Trans* Identity.” The Body Is Not An Apology, 21 Dec. 2018, thebodyisnotanapology.com/magazine/hairy-truth-trans-identity/.

“Portrayal of Women in Literature.” Romanticism: Background, Main Features, Romantic Authors from Crossref-It.info, crossref-it.info/articles/322/portrayal-of-women-in-literature.

The first article is a personal statement from a transgender man regarding his relationship with his gender and his hair/physical appearance. I chose this article to explore how Catherine's perception of her gender and sexuality affects her relationship with David. I'm not sure if this really works with the feminist lens since it is more about gender but I think it will add a lot to our discussions.

I also included a second link which discusses the depiction of women in text throughout history. We can think about the relationship with the author and Catherine and how he chooses to give her basically no personality or interests. This was inspired by the question from OWL, "what does the work say about women's creativity?" Looking back in history and exploring the relationship between Hemingway and Catherine will create a commentary on the feminist lens.

Amelia’s Article:

Gerdeman, Dina. “Why Employers Favor Men.” HBS Working Knowledge, Harvard Business School, 11 Sept. 2017, hbswk.hbs.edu/item/why-employers-favor-men

This article written by Dina Gerdeman from Harvard Business Center unpacks the struggles women experience in the workforce. The overall reasoning the article centers on is that employers prefer men not because they are prejudiced against women, but because they have the perception that men perform better on certain assignments. This piece references the published book "When Gender Discrimination Is Not About Gender" by Kathrine B. Coffman and Christine L. Exley, assistant professors at Harvard Business School. Gerdeman also includes direct quotes from both authors which sharpen the idea of statistical discrimination versus taste-based discrimination. This connects well to Ernest Hemingway's novel The Garden of Eden because in the marriage, only David, the husband, has a career as an author of two books. Even twenty chapters into the novel, the readers know nothing about Catherine's life, let alone her career. It is constantly brought up that David writes books for a reason which bring in the money for the house, yet Catherine constantly mentions how rich they are. Do males have a better chance at finding a life career than women? Does this affect who brings in the income in the marriage?

Manders, Kerry. “Beyond the Narrow Expectations of Gender.” The New York Times, The New York Times, 16 Oct. 2018, www.nytimes.com/2018/10/16/lens/beyond-the-narrow-expectations-of-gender.html.

I believe that this would be a good source for our group to use because it describes the categories people are placed in and the amount of room they are given with gender roles and sexuality. This is written from the point of view of people who have and are going through this. this will help my group explain to the reader more to get an understanding throughout the book, because even throughout the book we found ourselves coming into our book group confused and Catherine wanting to be a boy sometimes and a girl the next, saying she didn't want to kiss Marita and she does and likes it and what that difference between Catherine kissing Marita and David kissing Marita. This article brings up the fact of non-binary people not being accepted because it's hard to understand for people who are not and so its looked at as wrong. This helps with our lens because it shows feminism in a different way exceptionally the 1st wave of feminism back then when this book was written.

Bayley, Mireia Pavón. The Devilish Ways of Catherine Bourne: Breaking Heteronormative Gender Roles in The Garden of Eden by Ernest Hemingway. Universitat Autònoma De Barcelona, June 2016, ddd.uab.cat/pub/tfg/2016/169521/TFG_mireiapavon.pdf.

This analytical essay unpacks the ways in which Catherine, one of the main characters in Ernest Hemmingway’s The Garden of Eden breaks the sterotype for Heteronormative Gender Roles. In the article, the author speaks about how Catherine’s androgynous appearance, gender fluidity, and exploration of her sexuality are parts of her attempt to break free from the concept of normality and heteronormative rules. She writes that “The aim of this paper is to prove that her [Catherine] behavior does not breed from mental illness but rather from frustration and a will to break with the binary terms of gender because she is unable to feel fulfilled in a traditional wife role.” This is an interesting idea because it presents an argument that the reader might not have focused on, and it provides reasoning as to why Catherine allows Marita to be the “wife of the day” in their essentially polygamous relationship with David. Overall, this article gives context and analytical reasoning in support of the gender roles and exploration of sexual identity in The Garden of Eden.

December 17th, 2018. Colorful birthday candles sit on top of my favorite double chocolate cake. I look up from the smoke that sings the remembrance of the flame and see all the smiling faces. How did I make this much progress?
December 17th, 2017. I had a vanilla cake from Shoprite. Only one candle for my 16th birthday. We watched a movie I remember hating, so insignificant I don’t remember which one. My little cousins screamed from all the sugar. Went to bed that night and tried to recover from the disappointment by watching Netflix. I didn’t feel better.
Last March I was failing junior year. That May, my only escape from stress was laying in my pajamas. Every day I ate Rice Krispies for breakfast and soup for lunch. My birthday came and no friends were at my party because I didn’t have any worth inviting. I wasn’t sure I was worth being friends with.
December 17th, 2016. There were “friends” staring at their phone and making fun of my old furniture. My parents tried to build up my self-esteem by inviting family members I never met, to make me feel I had a crowd cheering for me. In the end, I put up a facade, holding up applause signs to fake happiness and please strangers.
April 2016, I constantly felt awkward, ugly, and uncomfortable. September, my family got a dog, that was the only highlight of the year.

This year was celestial. I saw something I had never seen before. The look of genuine love on guests’ faces was shocking to me. I thought this look didn’t exist, something I made up. The guest list included my mom’s side of the family I actually like and some new kids at my school that are now my best friends.
This year I found joy in the small things; repainting my room, watering plants, coupons at my favorite store, watching the sunrise on train rides, and meeting new people.
Tonight, I will end my night in a bubble bath, a big bowl of ice cream, and listening to my favorite songs. The perfect day needs a perfect ending. It took me so much energy to get where I am. Something that couldn’t be measured in miles, inches, or pounds.

Authors Note-
These events are not based on my life, only some small things I like to do or typical “teenager” things. Since the next step is coming close to all my friends, classmates, and I, I have been very inspired regarding how far we have come and how much we have grown. I chose to use shorter sentence structure and more poetic descriptions to mimic the way Margaret Atwood creates scenes in The Handmaid’s Tale. I incorporated lots of different events from the main characters life to mimic when Bromden was being electrically shocked and had lots of memories flood back from different points in his life. The image I made is based off the story I wrote and te events that occured between the years. I did the first two in black and white and finally introduced color once the character's life became better.

Changes in schools are typically seen or assumed to be an improvement, but that is not true in most cases. Change is typically involves the school district and state. But, in some ways, keeping the schools the same hurts even more than the changes do. Underfunding schools is not only detrimental because it can negatively impact the curriculum but it can cause them not to change at all, which can be worse.

One of the biggest and most known problems in schools is when schools arts programs are cut, such as, drama, art, and band. In a study conducted by Americans for the Arts, “Students who take four years of arts and music classes average almost 100 points higher on their SAT scores than students who take only one-half year or less.” Keeping creative classes in schools not only improves students time in high school or middle school, it sets them up for success getting into college and getting a job. Continuing these classes not only give students a place to escape from stress and personal problems and helps them discover their passions, but gives them more opportunities for career success. This confirms that changing the curriculum can seriously hurt the students academically.

Meanwhile, the opposite can be said, that not changing the curriculum can hurt students much more. Textbooks hurt students due to the outdated information and giving students no real life skills, they are just memorizing or reading facts. In the state of Nevada, the school district spent 3.8 million dollars to get the schools new textbooks during the 2018 and 2019 school year. This is a school that recognizes teaching children outdated information that is incorrect and no longer relevant hurts students more than it helps them. This shows a way that updating the curriculum can benefit students.

Another way that updating the curriculum helps students is providing them with better classes. In 2005, The School District of Philadelphia made a graduation requirement that all students need to take African American History class. This happened because in 1967 over 40,000 students walked out of school to advocate for this class. The inclusion of this class changed students lives by providing the necessary and crucial learning of the history of an unrepresented group. Without this change in ciciculum, most students in the city would not have learned about these amazing people.

Even though students, teachers, and staff look at change in schools to be typically bad, which it can be, it can also be good. Underfunding schools creates a significant change in curriculum for the worst, but, this can mean it staying the same, which hurts students too.

This was my best possible 2Fer because I reflected upon all the things I wrote in my reflective essay. I tried my best to stay focus and connected to my thesis. Something new I tried was to format my thesis differently and make it so I was able to show two sides of one story.

50 First Hates

50 First Hates

Kimberly Gucciardi-Kriegh

Comparing "Taming of the Shrew" and "50 First Dates"

William Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew deals with many themes involving romance, relationships, and the roles of men or women. The play is about two very different sisters getting married to two very different men. Petruchio sets out to marry Katherine even though she is considered to be a shrew with a hot temper that no man wanted to marry. He then tries to “tame” her and make her more ladylike. Meanwhile, her beautiful younger sister Bianca had many suitors, but finally chose to marry Lucentio because they were genuinely happy together.

In the 2014 movie 50 First Dates, Henry falls in love with Lucy, who has short-term memory loss from a car accident that happened over a year ago. Henry has to get Lucy to fall in love with him everyday because she forgets the next day. The two go through many family, health, and trust problems. Both have many connections involving the roles of men and women. Through it all, Henry, Petruchio, and Lucentio always stay dedicated to their partner. In both 50 First Dates and Taming of the Shrew, the characters are in  relationships that carefully balance control and dedication. This reflects to audiences that control is a sign of dedication.

“Your husband is your lord, your life, your keeper, your head, your sovereign, one who cares for you... And in exchange, he seeks no more from you but love, kind looks, and true obedience—too little payment for so great a debt. A woman owes her husband the same loyalty a subject owes his king."

(Page 219, Act 5 Scene 2, line 161)

In both the film and the play, the women doing something unnatural to their personalities to please a man.In this scene from Shrew, Katherine is giving her final monologue. At this point, Petruchio has tamed Katherine. She is no longer disobedient of her husband, starts fights, or acts out of turn. Petruchio had to “tame” Katherine by not letting her eat or sleep, this taught her that bed and food was not important and the only thing she had to care about was her love for him.  Katherine and Bianca’s husbands, Petruchio and Lucentio, are sitting with their father, Baptista, and their friend, Hortensio, who is recently married. They all make a bet to see whose wife is most obedient and would come when they call. Katherine won and this is her reaction to the other girls not going when their husbands called. Katherine started out as a head-strong defiant woman and Lucy had complete control over her life and got to make conscious decisions everyday.

Henry tells Lucy, “I love you very much, probably more than anybody could ever love another person." she responds "Wow. And how do I feel about you?" He answers “You’ve been dying to make out with me for quite some time now.”

In that scene, Lucy asks Henry if he loves her. His answer is a big turning point in their relationship and is something the viewers have not been told before.

In both the play and the movie, Katherine and Lucy are both under complete control of men. Some could say the biggest difference between Katherine and Lucy is that Katherine is letting this happen and she is choosing to listen to her husband. But, in reality, she was abused and deprived to be trained to act like this. Due to Lucy’s short-term memory loss, she has no choice in any parts of the relationship. It is true that each day she is happy being with Henry, but their relationship is so unhealthy. Henry could cheat, abuse her, do her wrong, and she would forget the next day, She also has no recollection of how she feels the relationship is developing and grow. This quote shows that just from saying he loved her, he got her to kiss him, even though she has no memory of him. Luckily, Henry really does love Lucy, but nevertheless, he still has all the control over the relationship.

"We have not yet been seen in any house, nor can we be distinguished by our faces for man or master. Then it follows thus: thou shalt be master, Tranio, in my stead, keep house and port and servants as I should. 'Tis hatched, and shall be so. Tranio, at once Uncase thee. Take my colored hat and cloak."

(Act 1 Scene 1, page 45, line 204.)

The quote above comes from Taming of the Shrew. Bianca’s father, Lucentio, has stated that no one will see Bianca unless they are school teachers visiting their home to give her school lessons. Lucentio and Hortensio are suitors to Bianca, they have devised a plan to dress up as teachers and go into Bianca’s house to try to win her over and seduce her. The two men were not concerned with the fact that their true identities would eventually be revealed, even long after they came up with the idea. They were ready to charm Bianca no matter what. Both Henry, Lucentio, and Hortensio were lying to a woman in hopes that they can captivate a beautiful woman by controlling her every move.

Before Henry met Lucy, her family and friends worked extremely hard to make her think that it was the day after the car crash. It worked very well and even though she was being lied to everyday. One day, Lucy realized she was being lied to and that was very hard for her. One thing she discovers is the newspaper dates are all the current date, not a year ago.  She discovers all the tricks they used and begins to scream and cry on the dock.

Screenshot 2018-04-12 at 8.00.37 PM
Screenshot 2018-04-12 at 8.00.37 PM

In both Taming of Shrew and 50 First Dates, Bianca and Lucy’s loved ones performed elaborate schemes in hopes of very different things. Lucentio and Hortensio completely erased their identities. The two men proved their dedication to the woman they loved, but they also had lots of control over Bianca by intruding in her home and time to learn. In the end, their lie worked and made Bianca very happy. Unlike in the film where Lucy was unaware that she was being lied to everyday but it made her happy, so they all continued. Until, their lies were exposed and she felt heartbroken and betrayed. These relationships, reflect that being very dedicated to controlling the ones they love is important, but it has to deal with control. These lies and all the control over the women was the start of their relationship and was the key to making their relationship last.

"For in Baptista’s keep my treasure is. He hath the jewel of my life in hold, His youngest daughter, beautiful Bianca, and her withholds from me and other more, suitors to her and rivals in my love, supposing it a thing impossible, for those defects I have before rehearsed."

(Act 1 Scene 2 page 57, lines 120-125)

This scene from Taming of the Shrew is right after Lucentio and Hortensio devise the plan to be school masters. Hortensio announces how much he loves Bianca, a girl he doesn’t even really know. He is addressing Baptista, her father, who will not let her get married until Katherine does. Hortensio and Henry both felt they had to stay dedicated to a woman they don’t even know. These characters reflect the idea that male suitors will stop at nothing to get a woman.

At the beginning of the movie, Henry was considered a ladies’ man because he went on lots of dates and never called the women back. In this scene, right after Henry met Lucy, he went on a date with another woman, Noreen. They were drinking and she invited him to go home with her, Henry thought of Lucy and declined her offer.

Screenshot 2018-04-12 at 8.12.22 PM

Screenshot 2018-04-12 at 8.16.06 PM

Noreen says, “I’d like to do something extra fun tonight… so, what are you thinking?” “What am I thinking?” He then thinks of Lucy and turns her down.

These characters represent the idea of love having to start from dedication and control. The biggest difference between the two decisions is that Hortensio did not get the woman he was dedicated to, but Lucentio did the same thing and he did. They also had to do a lot more to prove their dedication. Henry was making a clear choice to go against his typical character and leave a beautiful woman.

The characters from the play, The Taming of the Shrew and from the movie, 50 First Dates, represent the two values that are important in a long term relationship; control and dedication. The ideas shown in these stories represent the crucial parts of a real life relationship, even if the movie was made long after the play.

Hola, yo soy Kimberly Gucciardi-Kriegh.

Me encanta mi familia, estamos separados.

Mi hermano vive de Texas

Mis tíos viven en San Francisco, Alaska, y Boston

Mi prima vive Seattle

Nosotros estamos separados

Tienen significados

Soy completa

Mi familia es completa

Me encanta mi familia,

Desde muy lejos

0) In class, we watched the movie Digital Nation, created by PBS.
1) This movie showed examples of teens and experiences, good or bad, that they went through online and how it influenced their emotions, social life, families, and school.
2)The most memorable part of this movie is the segment about the boy who killed himself. It showed how this boy with suicidal thoughts from cyber bullying and looked to the internet for answer.
3) It is very important to watch shows like these because it shows how everyone online should take care and keep themselves and friends safe.
4) I will educate them all on what to do and not to do online, I will give them some freedom so they don't rebel.
5) You have to talk to them to look out for their safety because you love them.
6) The advice I would give is do not take everything away from your child because they are likely to rebel. Make time for family, especially at a young age represented by my picture

Kimberly Gucciardi Kriegh Reflection

1) Today in class we watched a very informative and emotional video about Jack. Jack has been bullied in and out of school. The most important message of the video is to really speak up and if you don't you are just making the situation worse. The video was very relevant especially when the bullying began to follow Jack home through cyber bullying, I feel like that happens to so many kids because that form of bullying is so accessible to the bullies.
2)It sadly reminds me just of the everyday stories you hear about bullying. The video covered a lot of scenarios that actually happen to kids today.
3) I think I appear pretty similar in real life as I am perceived online.
4) Based on the information found I think you would think I am very educated and a hard worker. Many of my SLA things like Lucid Charts and Slate appear such as my old schools online education like Prezi.
5)The goal of internet trolls is to spark anger and bother people. There job basically is to comment rude or hurtful things so you will reply back to them and start a disagreement online.
6) The positives are that if you are responsible with the content you post online you should have nothing to worry about when you are at a job interview and they search you on google. The downside is trolls can attack you and might say something you do not like. Also, if you are not responsible online it will come back to hurt you someday.

I chose this picture because I really learned a lot during this unit. It was so interesting to reflect on what a stranger would think of you online.

1) The internet comes into my house with a Coax cable. then connects to my modem. Two computers are connected with a wire to the modem. The modem connects to the router with a  Ether Net cord. It send wifi out to 3 phones, 2 playstations, one Ipad, and one cromecast.
2) The most interesting thing was how the information is sent through packets!
3) I would teach them about the way our internet send signals and how much it takes to recieve information to our computer.
