Mystery is my favorite genre, if it’s yours as well then this is the book for you. This book is the average mystery book on steroids.
Mystic River book review
Mystic River is a suspenseful tale, that will have you addicted and wanting to read all of Dennis Lehane’s books. Mystic River starts out with three boys (Jimmy, Dave, and Sean) growing up in a suburban town near Boston. It takes place in the year 1975 when the boys are only in 6th grade. These boys do as every boy does, by getting in some trouble. These three boys definitely know how to take the advantage of an afternoon in the summer. The boys not only get in trouble for small things, but also they get in trouble for relatively big things, such as stealing cars around their neighborhood and for fighting. The story starts with one of the boys getting abducted after a fight between the friends. The boy is also sexually abused by the abductors.
The novel then jumps to the year 2000, 25 years after the adduction. The same 3 boys are bring back together after separating. They are brought together because of the death of Jimmy’s daughter. Was it murder? Jimmy believes that his old friend Dave is the one who had murdered his daughter. Jimmy believes it is Dave because Dave hasn't been his old self since the kidnapping 25 years prior. Jimmy is an ex-con who is getting his life together but, will he lose control after his daughter’s murder. Dave is thought of as “The boy who escaped the wolves” and hadn't had a great childhood. As Dave grew older he became angrier and angrier, more paranoid and capable of things not usually thought about in the sane human mind. Sean is tied into this as well, as the police detective assigned to the mystery. Of course Sean has problems of his own. Not only did his wife abandon him, he believes that he's heard everything and life has nothing else to offer him. He spends his days alone listening to old recordings that he may have not heard clearly the first time he listen to it.
Dennis lehane is the writer the author of the story mystic river. Dennis lehane was born August 4, 1965 in Dorchester neighborhood in Boston, Massachusetts.. Dennis still lives in the Boston. Dennis is the youngest of 5 children. Lehane graduated from Eckerd college where he found his love for writing. Lehane's first book "A drink before the war" won an award for the best P.I novel. The fourth book in the series was adapted to a film "Gone, baby, gone" in 2007. Lehane's book mystic river was also made into a film in 2003 by Clint Eastwood. Dennis Lehane has taught at serval different colleges about fiction story writing.
This novel was so good that it was made into a movie in 2003. The movie was named after the book Mystic River and the movie won many awards. Lehane is thought of as one of the best fiction writers now. One thing that boosted his popularity is President Bill Clinton naming him as his favorite author.
My thoughts of the story is that it is a very complex and interesting novel, with many dramatic turns and climactic changes that makes this a very good book. I recommend it for people who love great writing and mystery stories. The movie is also great. I also recommend Dennis Lehane’s other books such as “Gone, Baby, Gone”, “Sacred” and “Prayers For Rain”.

(Doom, tick, Doom, tick) this year in English I learned many different and interesting things from this years English and history class. In this years english and history in 307 I learned thing out of the ordinary and uncommon to the people in my family, neighborhood, my culture. this year we learned that there's numbers ways to learn the same subject. One word that came up numbers times this year and that will not only stick in my head attached with a new meaning is Language.

Language within a person can show many different ways and be expressed in many different ways. In my first example you can see it's expressed in a very common way such as the normal format of writing your response and how you feel on the specific question at hand.
In the "Art in the Open" performance project where I got a chance to show language in a different format where you don't have to actually use words to show your own language without the expression of word and it show'd me that I don't have to use words to express my language. During this project we used interpretive dance to display our language.
This project allowed me to see myself from a different angle and allowed to see deeper into myself as well as my knowledge on the different ways language can be applied.
Language within a person can show many different ways and be expressed in many different ways. Another example of this is the poetry unit that I did.

School Troubles
Throughout my first year in “Hunter” I had difficulties in all my classes because not only were the students almost always speaking spanish but so were the teachers, so that the kids would understand the material. This was the biggest obstacle but not the only one. Another obstacle was that when i did speak the little spanish i had picked up i spoke it very slow, even to this day thats a disadvantage in high school during spanish class i speak slow so that i can pronounce each words properly. In elementary school when i spoke spanish slow i was laughed at. Another bad thing that came out of my first year in that school were i received my first “C”. I was laughed at and talked about because of my language, but i made a friend. We became friends what they learn and the language they thought in. Since I come from an African American household where English was the only language we spoke and so did he. This change want only drastic for me but also for my friend as well as, my family because now they worried about how I would learn rather than if i would learn. Also the way the school ran also affect the other black boy because he had similar problems with language so we became close friends because of language. Due to the other kids not accepting us we were forced to become friends. Me and the other boy had another big possible with acceptance we were called a name "Moreno" at the time I had no idea what that word meant. All i knew was that it was a reference to blacks. This problem was resolved quickly. After these acts my school experience became a lot better. There were no more classes with Spanish teaching or talking.
Also there were more kids of the black variety. In my mind the reason my experience became better is because of the addition of more black something the school was missing. From these experiences i learned how important language is to acceptance, popularity, and the overall ways people act toward each other because of differences. My experience with language wasn’t all bad during this time i also learned that language also brings people together because of either similarities to the group or differences. Language also shaped me to the person i am today because of that experience i learned to be careful with language because of language battles and language wars. I also learned to stay true to yourself because though all of the struggles you come by there can always be a good outcome.

Descriptive essay: The Best Worst Day Ever (Revised)
There i was having the worst time in my short 9 years of living. It was a beautiful summer day, I was visiting my grandfather Richard’s home. He was a small man and also a rich man that’s the reason I began to laugh when I first introduced myself to him, get it hes rich and his name is richard was a joke I said many times that day. His house was the biggest i've ever seen. There was at least 7 rooms and it was only him and his wife living in the huge red and green home with the brick stairs. His backyard was nice but his front yard is even nicer. His front yard consist of two main attractions,my personal favorite the blue trampoline and the nine feet deep pool with the “R” in the center. Thats where it happen I was just sitting there enjoying a cheeseburger with mustard after being extremely abused from the Blue giant that was the trampoline reflecting on the events that just occurred. The trampoline was full of grown men with 260 pounds of muscle, men that each were at least 6 feet tall. As the smallest on the trampoline I was forced to endure the torcher of the blue cell. I not only was step on, but also I was put through a series of wrestling matches with various strong grown men opponents. When I came out of the trampoline my record was 0-8-1 I had lost eight and thee “1” was a tie which was a result of my last of match, where I had badly kneed my older cousin Andre into his “eggs”, well they were “eggshells” when I had finished.
So back to what I was saying before I'm was just sitting there enjoying a cheeseburger when no other than Andre himself came from behind me and grabbed me by my belt of my pants and “kindly” carried me towards the pool. Everyone has the knowledge of me being scared of water, well not all water just water from pools. I’ve always been afraid to drown I believe “if the pool is 6 inches smaller than you there is an drawn hazzard”. Back to the story the through me in the pool, while I was in the air I used every cursed word I could think of as I fell I seen the light or just the shine off of my uncle Shaun’s head which was perfectly shaved. The worst part of it all is my burger fell while I was in the air, one by one the burger had been dismantled, first the bottom bun and the actual burger fell together most likely because of my over use of mustard, then the rest of the grilled beauty fell like bombs hitting a small town. As my body hit the cold water but also warm water I felt an instant chill on my body including my tongue, my mouth was open. While I was in there “dying” I made my “will”, my psp goes to no one I want to be buried with it, my 2 dollars goes to my brother Aaron, all my clothes can go to Amir he’s been eying them any way, daejah my little sister who’s the lightest of our family gets nothing.
As I had sat there I decided to begin to start swimming since everyone else had been doing it. I was a natural so I decided to swim and swim until I had became hungry again, which wasn’t long since my lunch had fell. When I had got out of the pool, I had went and got my new and improved “Grilled Beauty” with pickles I realized that this was the start to “The Best Worst Day Ever.”
keystone pipeline monologue
Opening paragraph:
In world history class we have been learning about the keystone xl pipeline ,which Is a pipeline that will run through canada to texas to transfer oil from the canadian tar sands. Are class objective was create a monologue to show the effect that the tar sands would have on the U.S.
A CLOUDY DESCUSION:
Frank, frank its good for us. Well not us more them. They need us we don’t need them. Look at this. I can’t believe that they are placing dirt up here with us. Can you believe this? We try and try so hard to make sure that they get rain. But this is how they been repaying us. I thought if did some freaky stuff to the like hurricanes and storms they would stop doing stupid shit. But no they steal doing it. i tell you if i had a nickel. Are you listening do you even know what they’re about to do? No, what! Do you not watch the news. Well look they are going to place tons of nasty tar sands oil up here with us. Tar sands look like old ass oatmeal. Do you want old oatmeal clouds everywhere? I thought so. What are we going to do? ummmm ummmm ummmm tragic!
JEROME THE PIPE
(standing alone thinking)Hmmm i wondering if what I’m doing is wrong, on one hand it is helping the economy so people can live better. On the other side what is an economy without a world. I’m the biggest of all of us, am i helping or hurting the world and humans. But I’m a pipe the biggest pipe, Jerome the pipe. I’m made for one reason so i can help humans in their everyday life. But am i helping or hurting the humans. (phone rings and Jerome answers) Hi, hey Steve. Hmmm should I be apart of this pipeline? Why not it says it would help. Yeah you right who wants all that nasty tar going through them. Hmmm but i need to put food on the table for all my little tubelings. (repeats what steve says)Is it worth it? Should i lose my identity for a little money? I do have to teach my children to stand up for wants right no matter what! so i will not participate in such a pipeline. I’ll get my old job at the krusty krab. All i need to do is sit there kinda like I’m doing now in my house. Alright steve i gotta go i guess its ramen again for dinner. Bye!(Hangs up the phone and leaves to pick up kids from school)
TAR SANDS V. SHOE
Awwww not again. I’m so sick of being put in this stuff. Its just nasty, like old oatmeal. Lace!, Lace! can you hear me or are you double knotted. You got messed up too, huh? Yeah, I thought so, that tar sand is real nasty, and its all over. Lace, can you believe that this is the stuff that will be in our clouds and our atmosphere. I know Lace, it’s unbelievable. We can’t stop this, we’re just shoes. Our only soul purpose in life is to be the sole. We protect people’s feet and that’s it. That’s right, we can change the world by stopping the keystone pipeline, here’s my plan. First we’re going to wet ourselves, so when so when they put us on they will be uncomfortable so they can’t pollute our air with co2 and other nasty gases. Yeah, that sounds good to me we should do it lace. We out!!!
APPENDIX:
It is more 1,700 miles long
Will provide you with more than 100 billion gallons of oil
Will create jobs
