My ILP

Posted by Anthony Brown in Advisory Sophomore - Giorgio - adv on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:47 pm

At my ILP we eat pizza and talk about buildings. We mostly talk about how they're made. We also talk about a project we're suppose to be working on. It's at smith park and we're redesigning the park. We've only come up with sketches for the park so far.

ILP #3

In my ILP we have been learning about how to measure the amount of energy a room requires when it is being used by the public. We also took a trip to the Filmer to learn about renovating and what the benefits of renovating is. We also learned about the challenges of doing a large renovation and how to control the price and make sure it doesn't get out of hand. We also finalized what we want out building we are renovating to be. We have decided on making a theater for bands and such to perform.

Theater ILP Post #2

Posted by Sandra Watson in Advisory Sophomore - Giorgio - adv on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 4:01 pm

This month my for my Ilp we are going to go see a play called disgraced. Before we get there, my Ilp instructor had us read a scene from the play which was very interesting . It makes me excited to actually see the play. We also have been  focusing on the skill of making our own bodies into props. We are getting the feel for  the space on stage . ILp has been very interesting and fun.  I am looking foward to see our skills that we learn in full effect.

In my ILP I am volunteering at my old school.  At my old school there is this program called Playworks that gets kid outside of class for 45 minutes to get involved in some kind of physical activity.  Quran and I are assistant coaches and we help the head coach with whatever she needs.  We usually work with the younger kids but we work with the upper grades too.  I like it so far and hope to enjoy it for the rest of my experience.

I have not started my ILP yet. I have talked to Jeremy in person and sent e-mails. I've tried to talk yo him face to face but Jeremy is very hard to find when you're looking for him. So, my plan is to have a face to face conversation with Jeremy and hopefully we can talk about my options. A few weeks ago I went to the ILP meeting and picked things that I'm interested in.
I would like to do something involved with culinary arts. I f not that then something fun like a class about food science or something of that nature. I would like to figure this out soon so I can know how I can help to speed up this process.

ILP Theater Month 1

Posted by Sandra Watson in Advisory Sophomore - Giorgio - adv on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 7:52 pm

I have started my ILP at Theater in the drama room. It takes place from 1;30pm-3:30pm. This was my first call this Wednesday. It's not like what I expected at, it was much more fun than I had pictured in my mind . I always like to jump right in and do skits but our teacher was more interested in teaching us the basics that we needed to get to those points and i'm glad she did, even though some of it was just review for me from last year, when I took a drama class in freshman year. It helped a lot for it to refresh my memory and it was a whole lot of fun collaborating with the people in the class because they were all very friendly to me.  The entire class time went well , also when we were given a small  task to put together small peices based on the material we just learned, it was slightly easy because of the guidance our teacher gave us and the enthusiastic group members.

In the future I am looking foward to making all this new  people friends, also looking forward to seeing the rest of the classes and how they play out . I think that the thing I'm most excited about seeing is the play we are going to go see in November.

Nat ILP

I do not have an ILP as of yet. But my dad and I, with help from his production studio co-owner, have compiled a list of recording studios around the area that will most likely need interns. Earlier this week I tried to email a place named "third floor tapes" but the man running it made clear it was a one man team that did not need any help. So, tonight I will complete composing the emails and send them out. Most likely I will have an ILP by the end of the weekend knowing many places are in need for unpaid interns.
The main place I am interested in is a place called "Shooters", it's located downtown and they work on both film production and music production. I am interested in both of these fields so I am excited to send this email. Plus, my dad's friend Brandon says that he knows who works there and has put a good word in for me. So, I am hoping they might accept me into their program.
