ILP 1st Semester Reflection

Posted by Zoe Chernowski in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:35 pm

2-25-16

What went well at my ILP at Project Space is that I am learning to create virtual worlds and how to create maps for out project. What I am really looking forward to is getting closer to the end project and seeing the virtual reality full function. What stands out is that I got to attend a very interesting presentation about Eclipse and learn all about them. I also got to learn more astrology than I have than ever before. What I think is important is teaching the public about space in this format as it is really engaging and can teach kids easily.

ILP Blog Post 1st Semester, Randle

Somethings that went well is I got a chance to help students with autism learn how to interact better with people and their surroundings. Something I am looking forward to is getting a chance to work with the older autistic children. Something that stands out is the way the school operates , and how the students react to things. For the most part I am printing copies for the teacher but I am sometimes placed in the classroom and I play with the blocks with the kids. Go over colors with them and try to get them to converse more.

Nadia Green ILP Check In 2/25/15

Posted by Nadia Green in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:34 pm

  • What went well?
What went well in my ILP is that I am advancing in what I am doing. I am now meeting more new people and working on another aspect of my project.

  • What are you looking forward to?
What I am looking forward to is actually creating my final project and getting the rest of the information that I need in order to complete it. I am also looking forward to going back to the office where I stay and working more on the project and comparing more collections of data.

  • What stands out that has happened so far?
What stands out that happened so far is that I have been working with basically my mentor and creating titles for the different Object codes and Activity codes that I am working with.

  • Add what you think is important.
What I think is important is that I am developing experience dealing with finances and also working with different kinds of project creating technology. Also I am becoming aware of what it feels like to work in a professional space.

ILP Update

My ILP is at the 3rd floor computer lab in SLA. Everything is going well for ILP. We are learning how to take apart laptops. I am hoping to learn about how to put a laptop together. Getting a good grade is the most important.

2/25/16 L. Shareef-Trudeau ILP

Posted by Lotus Shareef-Trudeau in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:29 pm

In my ILP at the Parkway Central Library I've begun creating tags for the books which I have enjoyed. It is a nice change from the video reviews that I had been doing every week. I look forward to working with the actual books and learning some of the inner working of the library. So far I have done many video reviews, created book tags, and taken photos to put on the library's social media accounts.

ILP Reflection

Posted by Jonathan Saldivar in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:28 pm

What went well in my ILP is that I found out how to set up lighting an when to have it on and off. What I'm looking for in my ILP is that I hope I'm able to switch my ILP. Nothing stands out. What I think is important in ILPS is the satisfaction of learning something new, and expressing what I learned.

HWellner- 1st Semester ILP Reflection

Posted by Harrison Wellner in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:27 pm

So far, my ILP at the Free Library Philadelphia has been going well. My partner Tito and I have been working to make a few different documentaries. We made one about the NC Wyeth paintings located in the children's department of the library, which was uploaded to their social media. We also made a second one for the music department, in honor of David Bowie's death, which was also uploaded to their social networking. Moving forwards, we're working on 2 more immediate documentary projects, and will likely get more projects in the near future. I'm looking forwards to getting to work on more projects for the library, improving our recording, interviewing, and editing skills. I hope that we continue to work at this rate, if not an increased rate, and get more content out into the world that we can call our own.

2/25/16 A. Swartz ILP Semester Check-In

Posted by Asher Swartz in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 2:23 pm

  • I feel like I am learning a lot, and seeing how professional engineers work and what things go on.
  • Working more and seeing where it goes next, because I am very interested in the process.
  • Two times ago (2/10/16), we were designing the basics for a parcel of land. I felt I did well and I enjoyed doing it. Add what you think is important.
  • To remember to look more interested. I am interested, but I am usually quiet and I could be more vocal and express my opinions better.

Polson December/January ILP check in

Posted by Jamie Polson in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 7:46 am

I have been doing things pretty similar to my ILP as before but I have done some new things.  I sewed up some triangles for a banner, I had to research middle schools in the Philadelphia area so that the Give and Take could have possible gigs.  I also had to look up jewish schools because they have money.  Earlier in December Eric, Alison and I looked at a tape from the Give and take and cretiqued it to see what should stay in and what should be removed because they had a gig a few days later where I sold merchandise for them and it went really well.  My ILP accurs in a place called the fanicular station its near queen lane train station and after I do financial things for them I get rewarded by getting to juggle for the rest of the time.  I have been trying to come up with a cigar box routine for this upcoming philly folk festival or possibly spring thing which if you don't know (which you probably don't) both are folk music oriented but also have other things going on at the same time like my parents do juggling workshops at both and it is also where the give and take perform a lot.

Posted by Jaszmine Randle in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Miles - Wed on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 2:43 pm

No I still do not have an ILP. I have been emailing Jeremy. Jeremy has got in the way of me not having an ILP. I may be getting an ILP , working with Kindergartners.  I have been doing everything I was supposed to do meeting with Jeremy, talking to other schools and I just received an email and I may be starting an ILP next week.
