Changes of My SLIDE!!!
There were many things wrong with my slide. The background in my picture was awful and the words was too small. So I decided to change my slide to make a lot more better. To help me change it, I used the information giving to me from my classmates and teacher and from presentation zen.
So I had used alpha to take out the background from the picture because it was distracting from what was important it. I put a frame around the picture to make it look a little better. Then I made the text bigger because in presentation zen it says don't be afraid to make the words big. I made "never" green to make it contrast with the other colors. And I put the heart on the picture because its showing that the two friends love each other.
Why I Changed My Slide
I wanted to make the adjectives in a more simple line instead of all over the slide. Though I kept the pictures of myself "bleeding" to the lower right and left corners, I also changed the way my name was displayed.
New and Old Slides
For the first slide, I was afraid to make things to close to each other or making the texts big. After I took another glance at the "Presentation Zen" website, I then realized that it was okay to make things big and close to each other. I also learned how to use the rule of the thirds, something that I didn't know how to use before. I focused on the rule of the thirds in my new slide. The Old slide out of the two is the first. The New slide is the second slide.
The New slide has a lot of properties from the "presentation zen" website. The texts on my Dr. Seuss quote is very large and easy to read. Also, in the first column when using the rule of the thirds is my picture and quote. Then, the second column contains the words "Dermatology is my life". That is also bold and large. That phrase is very simple and is self-explanatory. Finally, the third column had all of the dermatology products that I use.

Election Day Interview
2. Where have you encountered the most ad campaigning? The Phone and the Tv
3. Are you always sure who you are going to vote for when you walk into the booth or are you still deliberating?
I am always sure because I always read and inquire there literature before I go into the poll so I know who I am voting for.
4. Do you vote in every election? I was registered when I was 18 and I have voted in every election, I haven’t missed one since I was 18.
5. What changes do you hope to see in Philadelphia as a result of this election?
Hopefully the new governor and the mayor will be on the same page so the city can benefit from better education (more money) streets and highway to be repaved because if they are the same page we can get more money. More jobs for people. Decrease in gun violence different laws to stop some of the violence.

This is my old slide.
This is my new slide which I have improved.
I made these changes because thought that my images needed to be bigger and pop out more. I put the big picture of the hockey player with no teeth at the back so that it would both stand out, and cause the looker to unconsciously focus on the other elements of the slides.
I also tried to make all of the words to have contrast against the pictures, and I didn't use many words. I tried to make it so that you got the point of the slide through seeing the pictures, not through words.

I researched how the Civil Rights Act of 1964 became a law. I used an online collage maker called Glogster and used pictures and video to make a collage of everything the bill went through to become law.

Old and New Slide
I changed my slide so that i could make everthing bigger. As Ms Hull Showed us in class. But I also used shapes to take out the unessary words out of my lebron picture. The elements that i still used were that i still bleed my pictures and that ii contrast my Shirt color with the Color of the Expanition point.
Technology Keynote Changes
The original slide is not as eye catching and at a glance you couldn't consume all the information. So the new slide has all the new things in it. I had everything in a decent organized form so it wasn't really eye catching. There also wasn't a lot of bleed effects.
The first picture of me had many things in the back round that would distract you from me. The new picture has a simple back round.
Bracy Hull Key Slide
My slide is simple and easy to see, by the way of the font size. Also you can see there is unity between my phrases and name, which all make up my personality. Then there is contrast between the background, my name, and the phrases. All the phrases are white and all the letters of the name are going vertically and are red, which create repetition. Overall a well done slide.

Nick's Presentation Zen Slide
Below is my original slide.
Above was my original slide that I presented during class. Below is my revised slide that I changed using elements from Presentation Zen. I changed these simple elements which made my slide a lot better. All I did was deleted the picture on the right and make all of the words/letters bigger. I made the letters/words bigger so that people can read it quicker and easier. I think this slide (below) is better than the slide above.
The Old and New Slide
The first picture is my old Key Note Slide converted into a PDF.
The second picture is my new slide.
While seeing everyone's presentation, I realized that I could have made my slide a lot better. And so I thought of many ideas in my head. Here are my ideas:
I changed my formatting for my pictures because Ms. Hull and the website said that people see from left to right first. So I made it easier by putting it the pictures on the left. Eye catching pictures!
I also changed my wording and wasn't afraid to make my words huge and change the coloring.
This is what I changed on my slide! I hope you like it!

Artist’s Statement
Recently I have noticed a big change in the style of art that I create. I have been moving further and further away from illustration and moving into music. I have been playing the guitar since sometime sophomore year and it's practically possessed me. On my off time I spend hours upon hours practicing, learning new songs, tunings, chords, and techniques. I am intrigued by how the instrument works, and how different voicings and types of chords can invoke different feelings in the listener. I prefer using acoustic guitar when learning or performing music because it feels more personal to me, and I feel like I can put more soul into my work acoustically then if it was being distorted through speakers.
Bottle Cap Poster
When starting this quarter Miss Hull introduced us to the artist Aurora Robson. Aurora specializes in creating artwork out of plastic bottle caps and bottles. When she started creating these works they were made to reflect upon nightmares she used to have as a child. She connects these nightmares to the collective nightmare of the overuse of plastic that affects us all and is destroying the environment. We created posters to inform the school of a bottle cap drive; in this way we could keep some bottle caps out of our oceans and landfills and provide material for Aurora to use.
Project
For our assignment we had to create a piece of art that revolved around the theme of recycling. At first I had no idea how I could connect both music and recycling together, but then it came to me; last year for a physics project I built a three stringed guitar out of a cigar box, a piece of wood, and some odds and ends. Even though the guitar didn’t work very well as a conventional guitar, it worked perfectly as a slide guitar. My father also fairly recently discovered a beautiful guitar thrown away in the trash with some very fixable problems. After some cheap repairs he gave the guitar to me. So there I had two instruments that both had a relation to recycling, so all I needed was a song to record.
My choice song was “Loser” by Beck. There was no real rationale behind this choice besides it has a prominent slide guitar riff in it.
I recorded the song in three different parts, the slide guitar, the lead, and the sitar (which I arranged for guitar), and then pieced them together using GarageBand. I was going to record the bass in the song also, but my bass amp died on me during the recording process. Once I have the amp fixed I would like to go back and complete the song, and maybe add some drums with a drum machine.
