Family and friends are a big part of my life. “I love my life and the ones in it.” I made my slide look the way it does because I thought that it would be cool to just have one picture describe me. The image also describes me in only a couple of words. I think that just seeing the picture as a whole made me want it. In my opinion the picture itself was enough for my slide and I didn't need anything else. I decided to make the words really big so everybody can see it and I decided to have the background white so you could see the words more clearly.

Why did you make the slide look the way it does?

My slide looks the way it does because I tried to make my slide look different and creative from watching the video that was shown in class. In the ¨Presentation Zen¨ he said that your slide should look interesting and that your colors and images should pop. Watching the video helped come up with some ideas.


What influenced your decision making?


The links to the tutorial gave a lot of good ideas for my slide and using the sources provided helped a lot. In class you gave us some advice to look at exaplmes to help us with our slides, so I took it and tried to come up with some ideas.

Why did you make the slide look the way it does?


I made my slide look the way it does because I tried to be creative and take important advice from the tutorial video we watched and links provided. The video showed how to make your text bigger and different, so I thought that was cool and could make my slide more interesting.


What influenced your decision making?


The tutorial links and video gave me a lot of things to think about for my slide. So, I used some of the information provided in those sources to help me make my final decisions for my slide.

The reason I made my slide look like this is because we kind of had to be "unique" but it also had to be about ourselves. This is about me because the quote "Keep Your Head Up High Princess, Your Crown Is Falling." relates to the fact that it's basically the reason I am the person I possibly am today. I always used to listen to the bad stuff people would say about me and it really brought me down. Every day I literally walked to school hanging my head down low, my friend walked up to be picked my head up and said "Your crown was falling." I made the letters big and bold because it is the thing that needed to stand out the most. I put a picture of the little girl and made the crown bleed and fall off her head a little. Then I have a picture of me, to indicate that I grew up, forgot what people had to say about me and held my head up high with the crown on top of my head.

​The main aspect that was included in my Me Magazine was fashion. I made sure the background I chose was mainly neutral colors and made sure that the word/s I used were in a bright color to come off as eye-catching. When there are too many words present, the slide looses it's purpose. Therefore, I chose to use only one word.

Lyle Seitz- A presentation Slide

I made my slide based off of something that people all over SLA usually think of when they think of me. I used a picture of the Backstreet Boys as the main focus of my slide, because when people usually think of me, they think the cool folders I have, all with the Backstreet Boys. I then put my name with a question mark because people also think ‘whoa what just happened’ after they spend some time with me. I wanted my slide to look really simple, so I didn’t add many elements to it. I thought of the apple ads, and saw how much they put on their ads, they don’t have many components to them, but they look really good. I also thought the Backstreet Boys were a good choice for me because they are so full of life and youth just like me.

I made this slide look like this because I wanted it to look really simple. When doing this I thought about Apple, the company. I looked at their ads and saw how simple it was and how they had simple colors like black, white and grey with a pop of color. Also from reading the articles and thinking about the IKEA ads It was just simple and focus around the pictures instead of the words.

My slide includes pictures. I put up a simple collage that has pictures of things that describe me. The pictures include a picture of me and my friends, a picture of an Olympic swimming pool, a picture of the Harvard logo, and a picture of the Caribe Hilton Hotel in Puerto Rico. The picture of me and my friends represents how I love my friends and I would do anything for them because they are a major part of my life. The Olympic pool picture represents how I'm a competitive swimmer and if I'm good enough I would like to start an Olympic swimming team for Puerto Rico and be able to become an Olympic swimmer. The Harvard logo represents my dream of wanting to go to Harvard to study Biological Sciences and then graduate and continue on to medical school so I can become an endocrinologist. The Caribe Hilton Hotel Picture represents my childhood because I basically spent every weekend of my life in the hotel and I thought it was really cool because I got to meet people like Selena Gomez when they filmed movies there. I made the Olympic swimming picture and the Olympic swimming pool picture bleed off the page. I enlarged the images so that they could be visible from a distance. I put very few pictures so that I would be easy to see and know hat it is from a distance as well. When I first made my slide it had a lot on it so I removed any non essential information/pictures.  One thing that made my slide authentic was that it shows things about my past, present, and future by simply using a visual aid.

My slide that I created is based on my ME Magazine. My magazine was about my dance life, so thats why I have a photo of a ballet dancer. Making my slide was very difficult for me, because most of the time I was wondering if I had too little or too much. A source that helped me make my slide was an article called “Top Ten Slide Tips” by Garr Reynolds. I learned a lot! One big tip that he gave was to keep your slide simple. Reynolds said to use slides with a horizontal or Landscape orientation. He also said that the image should be the main part, so I thought about rather than having just multiple images, use an image as a background, and a small amount of words. I think this helps keep the audience focused on you, but can look at your slide, without getting distracted from the presentation.

My slide includes some nouns that describe things in my life, like family and rowing. I put these in my slide, because words are important too. I made the color of the slide orange, because that is a bright color and will catch the eye easily. Most people don't put many pictures, but I think adding more pictures and less text is important, because most people look before they read.

​The reason I chose these things is because Rhett and Link are my favorite youtubers and I also love puppets so when I discovered that rhett and link had a mini series with puppets I immediately jumped to watch it.  I included the beatles for they are my favorite musical band and have formed good music as we know it.  The picture of the frisbee is included because I love playing frisbee and am currently on SLA’s ultimate team, Brodie Smith is also a role model when it comes to frisbee because he is outstanding at it.

All About Me Slide

My slide is about my me magazine, but I decided to add a little bit. I chose to make my slide dark because to most people I tend to be a quiet person. Also, I made my background black because it matches the color of my pictures. My magazine influenced me to put the images on my slide that I have. For instance, I put my old step team because I LOVE THEM !!! My slide has lot of photos to grasp people’s attention and it has big words, so It can be seen from far way.

I just used K.I.S.S here, Keep It Simple Stupid. I chose a pretty soft background color so that any texts I wanted would stand out and make good color contrast. I varied the text size based on the order I wanted people to read it in. I spaced out the list to the left to make it easier on the eyes but made it a color that would be harsh enough that people wouldnt just skip over it. I followed the rule of thirds both overall in the slide and in the picture. The green words are placed in the top center so that they are the first thing to be read. Because of how we read from left to right I places the words on the left and the picture to the right. *All of this is said in a labcoat* (To follow the ruberic).

in 1989, a street designer named Shepard Fairey did a line of posters, hats, shirts stickers and other merchandise. Some featured the word Obey with a picture of Andre the Giant, and some just said the word Obey. People stopped to stare at this picture and couldn't comprehend what was going on. In my slide, that's kind of what I was going for. As a mixed race child, I often am asked what race I am. Like the OBEY poster, my racial identity confuses and intrigues people. In my ME magazine I highlight who I am through articles and pictures. People get distracted and loose focus on things that don't interest them. When things confuse people it causes them to think to stop and stare. That is what I want people to do with my slide. To see on the side of the road and think what is this?. They tell they're friends and just like that my "nonsense" slide goes viral.

The reason that I chose this picture for my background is because in order to reach your goals you have to aim for them. Without an aim your arrow will go in a different direction that you anticipated. I wanted to keep the slide simple and just used the arrows and bull's eye as the main focus. I then added a quote that I created and bolded and initialized the font. I also made the font 30 to be seen easily and clearly while making it eye catching.

​This is my slide for tech! I aimed to catch the viewer by using three name colors, red, white and blue. In the fanatic word, I spelled it PHanatic, Then I added different colors, those of the Philly Phanatic. These colors appeal to the viewers at a glance, but then also make them observe the details in the slide. The words represent my love for cars. But the colors show my Puerto Rican and American pride, and the phanatic word shows my Philadelphia pride. I then Downloaded my slide as a PDF, and inserted the HTML Embed code to this post. I also gained inspiration from this website.

Well my slide tells a small part of my life and my interests. I love music and dancing so much, they are two of my main passions! Also, I plan on moving ti New York City when I grow up and that is my favorite city, so that is represented in my slide. Lastly, since I don't take a lot of pictures, I picked my favorite one of myself, and posted it. Finally I posted my favorite place in the whole world which is a camp in the YMCA!
