Negative Space
Negative Space.
In my Stool drawings, I found the negative space by creating the shapes the space was taking up. So for example, if two Stool legs have space between them, that space made a trapezoid. For my cut- out, to find the negative space, I just looked at the parts around the drawing.
It helps an artist to see negative space because they can see the shape and formation of an object to draw it almost to perfection.
In my opinion, negative space does enhance the drawing because it makes the object pop.

Negative Space
I found the negative space in the cut out picture by thinking the opposite that I normally would. I found the negative space for the drawing by shading in the whole page and then erased the stools and the other parts of the image.
It helps an artist to see negative space because it is good to see all parts of the image not just what is in front of you.
Seeing in negative space does enhance the drawing because when you see the negative space it brings out the normal drawing.
Something Important.
-Negative space is a special type of drawing. For example, if you are looking at a black and white drawing, all the white parts will turn black, and all the black parts will be white.
B. Explain how you found negative space in 1. your cut out? 2. in your stool drawing?
-In my cut out, I found the negative space by cutting out the shape using construction paper. Using the cut outs, I pasted it onto another piece of construction paper, that would become my negative space. Making use of the left over cut outs, I pasted it onto the negative space paper. The owl that I was making started to take shape.
C. Why does it help an artist to see in negative space? Some artist find it easier to draw what is not the main focus of the drawing. This in turn will create the drawing that is in focus. This is found to be easier by some artist.
D. Seeing in negative space shows a sort of silhouette of the drawing. Since the main focus of the drawing is a different color then the rest of the whole entire drawing, it makes it more appealing.

The way that I created Negative space with my cut out is by first cutting my print out of the tree while on of the brown piece of construction paper. Then used the space created from the cut out of white paper i glued it on as place in the picture below.

Negative Space.
In my drawing I found negative space by placing the parts of the picture that were positive space on the picture.

This helps an artist see negative space because it's the opposite color and it is the opposite part of the picture.

Jalisa Smith: Negative Space
I believe it helps an artist to see in negative space because it makes the drawing more precise and the shapes are bolder because it looks more accurate. While in a regular drawing, you are just looking at in your perspective and drawing the shapes that you believe are there. I believe that seeing drawings in negative space brings out the art more because I can see the shapes better and it actually looks like what the Artist was drawing.

Sara Nesbitt: Negative Space.
B. I first drew the stools, and then after I had the object I used a darker shade of my pencil and shaded the rest of the space that was not part of the object, but just there. There was also an orange piece of paper behind the drawing, and everywhere you could see orange was negative space, so you just color that in.
In my cut outs, I just cut every part of the tree out and then found the outline. Everything else I put on the other side.
C. It helps when artists can see negative space because it gives the picture a 3D atmosphere, and helps them see all parts of the picture, instead of just the outline. You can't draw an accurate picture with just the outline.
D. Yes, seeing negative spaces can enhance the drawing because the picture is flat unless you see the entire thing. I believe that the picture won't be complete unless you see every aspect.
