a. I feel like I accomplished understanding, I know a lot of the roots and analytic ways to create a picture. Through measurements and finite lines, I found a way to create an drawing that looks more rooted and real.

b. Something I would do differently during this project would be to work on it more outside of the classroom. I draw frequently but this project seemed more daunting than most. So, I put it off for several days and ended up with an incomplete piece.

c. Jasmine's drawing seems very successful, it has perfect spacing and positioning of all the tables, windows, and chairs. Everything has the correct amount of detail and is very appealing to the eye. It seems the reason for her success was her perfect measurements and the execution of the placement of objects.

d. I learned that there are more rules than you would think. Every position and perspective of an object has to be measured perfectly and placed in such a way that it corresponds with vanishing point. Everything has to be in place and fits with everything.

I felt liked I accomplished a lot. I used my time wisely in class and got most of my project done. What i would change about the project would be to add more details like the pictures on the wall. I wasn't able to get details done but was able to get the basics like the ceiling, floor, and the two walls. Isaiah's drawing was really successful. His orthagonals made his drawing look neat, clear, and perfect which made it so successful. What I learned bout one point perspective was that you need ti be able to have orthagonals to make your drawing look as close as possible to perfect.

The art drawing that I did for the past two weeks was a major project that I worked on a lot. I had to choose a wall in art class and I had to draw the windows, doors, walls, and tables that surrounds that wall. We had to draw the objects in a one point perspective. I felt like I accurately drew the major objects in the classroom that would make the picture feel real due to its three dimensional drawing.
The drawing had a lot of requirements and we only had a handful of class periods to get it done. If I could change something about it, I would have more time to get the project started, because most of the lesson plans ran into our project time. After starting up earlier, I would have more free time to get it done. If I got more done, I would've added details, colors, and more objects.
Another drawing I adored was Kate's. She had the major requirements and good details. The one point perspective made it feel like I could walk into the drawing and I would be in the room. From her dark clean lines, to the fine use of space in the picture, her picture displayed confidence and success. Her drawing in successful because she took time and effort to complete her drawing without cutting corners or doing some sketches last minute.
One point perspective forced me to look at drawings, paintings, and sketches in a different way. One point perspective makes drawings point and come from a certain direction, making objects appear bigger or smaller depending on where they are in the picture. One point perspective makes drawing look more challenging to create, but it also makes drawings look more realistic because there are methods to making drawings in a one point perspective.

a.) I deserve a 70 because I didnt do a lot of things that were needed.
b.) The speed I completed the drawing, I would have done my drawing during the class period.
c.) Justins because it showed the different angles of everything
d.) I learned that you had to draw everything from a specific point on the paper.

Q3 Art Reflection - Kate Kopf

Posted by Kathryn Kopf in Art - Freshman - Hull - y2 on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:10 am

a. What do you feel like you accomplished with your final drawing?  (keeping the rubric in mind. 20pts. - back wall, 20pts. side wall, 20pts. ceiling, 20pts. floor, 20pts. table/chair = 100pts.
I'm very proud of myself for my artwork. I know it's not the best and could be a lot better, but I have worked very hard on it, constantly working hard in and out of class. I put a lot of effort into this drawing and kept going even if I got frustrated, which I did. I believe the final drawing turned out well and portrays a lot of the parts of the wall well, on sides and walls.

b. What would you change or differently if you could do this project again?
If I could do anything different, I would try to work more out of class. I could have more time to work on the drawing, and make it more precise, detailed, and overall better. More time means I could be patient with myself and really make sure every line is perfect.

c. Find a drawing on the wall that you think is successful. Describe it. Why is it successful?
The drawing I found has a lot of detail, but is still really neat and carefully drawn. It has almost all of the parts of the wall they drew and the drawing seems to be to scale, all of the parts looking right in relation to each other. If you look close you can also see that the lines have been carefully drawn and each one is accurate, going to vanishing point or being vertical or horizontal.

d. What did you learn about one point perspective?
This drawing really improved my one point perspective skills. Before this I would have been afraid to just look at something in the room and attempt to draw it, but now I feel a lot more confident and I think that it would turn out pretty decent. Overall, drawing this gave me a lot more confidence in drawing and I feel like I can draw a lot more thing in one point perspective than I could before.

  • a. What do you feel like you accomplished with your final drawing?  (keeping the rubric in mind. 20pts. - back wall, 20pts. side wall, 20pts. ceiling, 20pts. floor, 20pts. table/chair = 100pts.
I think I accomplished the ceiling very well and the perspective of the things I'm my drawing. I tried tried to get everything to connect to my vanish point so that it all looked correct.
  • b. What would you change or differently if you could do this project again?
In my drawing, I would change my table and stool because I think they could be neater. I also wish I could add more detail so that it looked more realistic.
  • c. Find a drawing on the wall that you think is successful. Describe it. Why is it successful?
A drawing i thought was success was one that had many table and stool. They were really well drawn, also the windows they drew had a lot of detail (in the glass).
  • d. What did you learn about one point perspective?
I learned that it's important because to have a successful and correct-looking drawing, you need to follow the rules of making sure you have a vanishing point and following up lines to meet that point so objects in your room (for example) look symmetrical and proportional.

Q3 Reflection & Directions Class

Posted by Deja Harrison in Art - Freshman - Hull - y2 on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:05 am

A. I feel like I accomplished my goal of just getting it done. I'm not the best artist but I'm really proud of what I got in the end.
B. I would probably work on it at home because I feel like if I did it would be better.
C. I think Isaiah's paper is very good. He really got the details in the room like the way the blinds are all bundled up at the top. Everything look very neat.
D. I learned that one point perspective is very hard because their are a lot of ways to see things but drawing from one point you can only draw what you see. Plus, I can't hold a ruler straight.

1.a I feel like I accomplished a little bit of the drawing. I managed to finish the ceiling and the side walls of the drawing. However, I did not finish the objects on the sidewalls or the doors and sinks. So, overall I only did a little bit of the drawing and I could've done more.
b. If I could redo this project, I would first be more responsible and not lose my white paper. Because I lost my white paper I was behind and embarrassed about my responsibility. I would then be more focused when drawing so that I could accomplish more of it. I would then change how I drew my ceiling tiles and make them more even and proportioned. I would then redraw and do my tables.
c. A drawing on the wall that was successful was Jaszmine's. I really like how everything was even and the tiles were on point. I was able to see the side walls perfectly and everything was nicely structured. I also like how the paper is clean and has barely any erase marks. She also has perfectly even windows and tables.
d. I learned that one point perspective is one of the easiest things to do, if you have the right vanishing point and orthangonals. I also learned that one point perspective make art more alive and seem even more real.

For the final drawing, I've done better than my other drawings. Most of my other drawings I either didn't finish or just didn't do, but this one I completed what I needed to do. For this project, if I had more time or just re-do it, I would focus on working instead of socializing. The drawing I found that was successful was right above mine. It clearly displayed the window size, the tiles on the roof, and there are no stray marks around the paper. All of the pieces of the drawings follow the vanishing point of the drawing. For one-point perspective, I learned that every drawing must have a vanishing point. I learned the meaning of the word orthogonal, and learned new vocabulary in the process of learning how to draw using one point perspective.

a. What do you feel like you accomplished with your final drawing?
No, I do not feel accomplished at all- this is not my area of expertise at all. However, I did something okay but I do not have the technical term for it. Oops.
b. What would you change or differently if you could do this project again?
I figured out too late how to do the window- I would do it right the next time. Also I would stay in the art room at lunch one more time to fill in some more details.
c. Find a drawing on the wall that you think is successful. Describe it. Why is it successful?
Kate's drawing is successful. It is the wall by the sink, and it is drawn with clear lines. It looks clean, and it doesn't look like she hesitated. Mine is incredibly sloppy.
d. What did you learn about one point perspective?
We do not see in it at all and drawing windows with it can be difficult if you base it on real life. It is more challenging than it looks.
