Time

Something I just noticed: The timestamps for these posts aren't the actual time. They're off by what looks like five minutes. It is the same as 'SLA time.' I heard that 'SLA time' is on purpose, to make it look like less kids show up late for school. I bet whoever decided to do that to time doesn't realize they're probably doing more hurt than help. If high school students get used to always being a little late and nothing happening, what will they do in the real world? After all is said and done, who cares if you're five minutes late to school? Let that teach you not to be late for things that could be more important. Right?

baaabysitting.

I'm inside babysitting on a Saturday night.
Watching Big Time Rush; sad thing is, I actually like one of their songs.

&Patchy the Pirate is on the movie I'm watching.

I want to learn a new song on guitar, but I don't know what to learn. I'm going to go to bed now, goodnight.

Sun Drop

Today I went to work at Acme from 12pm-7pm.  It's been a long time since I have worked on a Saturday.  I used to work Saturday nights but they switched my schedule around so I have not been working them in a while.  Anyway, when I got to work today, I was told that Canada Dry was doing a promotion for their new soda, "Sun Drop", and that I would be in charge of giving away hundreds of free 2-liter bottles to customers.  I also received a free t-shirt to wear while giving out the soda.

Four hours went by and half of the supply was gone.  By the end of the night, I had reached the quota and gave away all of the sodas.  My boss was pleased.  Funny thing is, I still have not tried the soda.

La Rutina De...

What did you learn from doing this project? (skills, life lessons, words etc)
I never took the time to notice all things that I did everyday of my life. I guess it was because of this video that actually noticed that I have a routine and even though it's not very efficient, it's the life I live today. It made re-acknowledge the things I go through and be grateful that I have it easy compared to others that are less fortunate in this world.

How do you feel about your final product?
I'm not saying I love it - because I didn't get to include everything I wanted to, but it still works because it manages to capture my daily life.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?
I'd probably add more music or audio. I feel as though I could do more in some places. But, then again, I can't say that I am not pleased with what I have now.

Did you enjoy this project? Why or why not?
Definitely. I like that I got to incorporate Spanish into my everyday life by describing what I do. It was fun to record and pick the parts that I wanted to put in. But, overall, it was one of the most fun I have had to doing benchmark, if I am not mistaken.

Last Friday Night

Last night I stayed at my cousin, Kristine's, house. We played 500 Rummy, labeled people in a magazine after celebrities they looked like and ate. Then we went out with Mike and hung out with Mike and Paul, who we caught up with at the park, for like an hour and it was actually kind of fun. Then when we went back home we hid in her room, which is when my night got amazing!!!! (Hehe) I was lying there and my Kristine was on the phone with her boyfriend. We had her iPod hooked up to an iHome that lit up in different colors in a rhythm that was only slightly off beat of the songs that I was semi-dancing too. I lifted my blue blanket covered in clouds, stars and crescent moons and put it over my head. And then I laughed hysterically and talked about how "freaking amazing" it was that the blanket was changing color and the different pieces light up in greens and neon blue-greens. And then Kristine ducked under with me and we watched the blanket change from a night sky to the daytime in an alternate universe. It was pretty freaking amazing.

With my Grandma

A simple conversation

though, with you it is so much more

drawing circles with our words

jumping through hoops just to understand their meaning

You've spent years watching me grow

yet my simplest accomplishments still astound you

An A? Yes!

Applied to college? Wonderful!

I remember when..., you tell me

and we laugh together

though I don't remember the events you recall

and know I never will

It's a funny thing talking to your grandma

the clash of different times and places

the internet user and one who's never read an email

our differences are immense, large and seemingly impassable

But we overcome them.

We always have.

What did you learn from doing this project? (skills, life lessons, words etc)
what i learned from this project was how to talk about my daily routine and how to conjugate the word and also a few new words that we do not usually use in class.

How do you feel about your final product?
I feel that the project could have been better, my routine is explained to the best of my ability and the project is the best i could get it though.

If you could do your project all over agai
n, what would you do differently/the same?
Next time i would add more of my routine and go deeper into each one and use different videos to show what im doing.

Did you enjoy this project? Why or why not?
I think i would of enjoyed it a little more if it was working with other people and talking bout what we do the same or something like that. i just liek working as group better.

Jennifer Rutina-Diaria

In this project i learned how to use my daily routine and put it in spanish. my final project was pretty short but its my morning routine before i leave for sla. If i could do this project over i would do my project on my daily weekend day. I did not really like this project because I hate recording videos for school projects.

Incident Z (Chapter3sec2)2.25.11))

“I’m worried about him”

“I think we are all worried about him”

“But he is my brother” Jacob looked up at Jen “iv been a bad older brother, iv been immature and mean” Jen frowned and shook her head in disagreement

“No, you care about him, maybe you don’t show it, but that’s just how siblings work.” She took his hand “that’s why you never wanted to tell anyone about us, you knew he had feelings for me, and you don’t want to put that on him”  Jacob looked up, he had tears in his eyes “itle be ok”

“its been two days almost three, he needs to eat”

“I know, we tried but he wont eat…look for now you need to be our leader, and eventually your brother will snap out of this”

“I can’t be my brother, im not meant to lead”

it was two days later and Justin still sat in the dark room.  No one visited him since Chris went in there, and Chris himself was being very quite. Dan and Eve really wanted to see their brother, but Chris told everyone to let him be. No one questioned why.  Jane tried her best to make Chris feel better, but Chris seemed to be in his own world most of the time, although he was not completely shut down like Justin.  John and ted continued practicing parkour in the open parts of the store, everyone knew that they used parkour like a drug. They said that the flow and the movement was more then good exercise and getting better at running away, it was a way of life, it helped get your mind of things. They were parkour high.

Rob was being quite too but he was never a really loud individual in the first place. He spent most of his time sleeping, and looking around in the parts of the store that no one went to. Julia tried to hang out with Dan and Eve but they were not as interested as they usually were.

No one was the same as they usually were, Jen and Jane were the only ones that seemed unaffected. When Jen was not with Jacob and when Jane was not trying to make everyone else feel better they would have their girl talk.  They both had their secrets they kept from the group. No one knew about Jen and Jacob except Jane, and no one knew that Jane was falling for Chris.

They talked for a long while about things they should do. Jen wanted to tell Just about how she was going out with his brother, and Jane really wanted to tell Chris how she felt.

“just tell him, that’s what I did with Jacob”

“I don’t know…” Jane looked down. It was now the third day since smitty went into his dark room.  Things were quite

“ARM YOURSELFs!” came a loud voice, everyone recognized it as robs, who does not talk much but when he does, you know its him. Jane looked up and rob came around the corner with his paintball gun in hand. “there are people not zombies approaching the store!”  both girls got up and ran for their wepons. Soon everyone was gathered at the main entrance. All armed, except for Just, who was still in his dark room.

Zombies were all around the front entrance, but some of them were turning around to run somewhere. All of a sudden one of the zombies dropped, and then another and another. No one noticed as the zombies dropped the figure charging at the zombies from the other side until a huge buster sword came by and sliced a zombies head off. it was now played out like a show a man, with long hair goggles and what appeared to be a robotic arm came was killing zombies with a sword, and other zombies were falling out of no where.  The slaughter continued unile there were no zombies left. The man now stood in front of the main entrance. He had his massive sword by his side and was just staring in. he seemed to be waiting for something to happen.  It was a stare off

Nothing to do

I just got back from work. I am not tired but my back hurts. I have nothing to do and am wide awake. I hate when I'm in these situations. Television never entertains me when I'm in this state and I don't enjoy computer or video games. My friends (including myself) can't drive, so if i wanted to hang out with them I couldn't.  I don't know what to do. I want to eat. I'm not hungry but that's what I do when I'm bored. It's a terrible habit. I'm working on breaking it. Actually right now I'm breaking that habit because I am not eating and am not going to eat until breakfast time comes tommorow morning.

La rutina

What did you learn from doing this project? (skills, life lessons, words etc)
I feel as though in doing this project, i learned how to talk about my daily routine. So now if someone spoke spanish and wanted to know what i do during the day, i can tell them.

How do you feel about your final product?
I feel as though the final product is really well done, i like how it looks and i think that the music, video, and just everything is well done. I am proud of it.

If you could do your project all over again, what would you do differently/the same?
Next time i would try and get better lighting when recording to produce better quality recording. That and maybe add a few more things during the day.

Did you enjoy this project? Why or why not?
I did enjoy this project to a degree, it wasn't the most exciting project because, well i am not sure, it just wasn't. However, it wasn't terrible to do.

Sisters

If you look at me then my half sister Zoe, you could tell there was some resemblance but not really. At 11 years old she is already as tall as me if not taller. Her eyes are small but round going with the cat green color of them, my own are brown and almond shape. She has a heart shaped face while I have been told my face is rounder. My hair is longer, dark with a odd mixture of waves and curls. Zoe's on the other hand hits around her chin, has a gold color to it and is extremely curly.

Even outside our looks is completely different. We have very different personalities to the extreme. How to simply condense down are major differences? Well she is off the wall, loud, bubbly, toughness 24/7. Though I can be loud at times I am actually quiet and reserved, out side of it and it plays up more in comparisons to her. If you put the two of us in a room she would run around while I write or read a book.

The list of our personality, likes, actions, even our appearances differences continues to grow. To some degree it makes me wonder why did I wish for a little sister. But then again it doesn't. I adore Zoe more then anyone. Since we were little I always dotted upon her and cared for her. I use her as an inspiration to work hard so that she has a good role model to look up to. Even if we don't get to see one another often I always let her know where to find me so she can have me to talk to and get support from. Never would I let her down because we are sisters.

Sierra Dinvil

Doing this project I learned that procrastination is really bad. When you procrastinate you get less done and your final project won't be the best that it could be. Even though I feel like in some areas I could have done better, overall I'm proud of my project. If I were to do this project over however, I would use my class time more effectively since we were given several class periods to do it. I liked this project because it helped me learn my vocab words by applying it into a short story.

Spanish 2 Project: Daily Routines

For the third quarter, I was assigned a project where I present to you a typical day in my life. This project was done over a three week period, where we created lines for us to act out, and edit with our peers. After our lines were edited, we were then able to record and create a video. In my video, I present to you my self preforming each part of my day, with a spanish voice over and subtitles.

I learned a lot from doing this project, both Spanish, and things that can be applied outside of class. One thing I learned was managing time once given an extension. Sure, the extension's great while it last, till very last minute you're panicking over the project. I learned a lot of Spanish from this. I can describe my day pretty well, and congregate these terms well after doing this.

Like most project I do, I like and dislike it. On one side I dislike it, because I feel as if I could have done so much more with it, like many other projects that I've done. On the other hand, I'm happy with the end result, which is a piece which presents my day with accurate Spanish and silly faces.

If I were given a second opportunity to do this project, I'd defiantly redo a lot of things. I'd add more parts of my day, better lighting, more creative elements…. I could make a list of things I'd like to do differently. Haha.

I enjoyed this project. It was fun. I got to go over my daily routine in Spanish, and create a video showing it! Sure, so parts of my final product were a bit sloppy, but it was pretty enjoyable doing. It had me actually think about why I do certain things each day.

A Human's Worth

He asked me, "Do you know how big the universe is?"

I thought about it. I only understood that it was larger than I could ever expect.

So many people don't understand how unimportant they are in this universe.

He said, "The only thing that makes you worth anything is making someone else happy."
