The Avengers go West by Luis and Saamir

Posted by Luis-Manuel Morales in Reel Reading · Giknis · C Band on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 9:29 pm
The Avengers go West by Luis and Saa

The scene we decided to transform was the “Impenetrable Shield” scene from Marvel's The Avengers (2012) It Provided the perfect setup that could translate well into a Western Movie Scene. It has a mexican standoff between the villain (Loki) and the protagonist (Tony Stark) where Loki has a weapon that is a danger to Tony. For our scene we transformed the environment into a Wild West town, the characters into cowboy versions of themselves, and Loki’s Scepter into a magical shotgun.

Our scene opens up with a long shot of the characters in a staredown, smack dab in the middle of a dry, saturated environment. The ground is sand, the sky is orange and black and all the building use hot colors to demonstrate the warmth of the environment.

The second shot is a eye level close up shot of our villain, with the orange sky behind him to keep the dry theme going.  Loki's outfit is a western take on his Asgardian robe from the film. Rather than a low shot looking up at the characters like the original film, we followed the Western trope and brought the camera to his face, showing his emotion clearly.

The third shot cuts to Tony’s face, in the same eye level close us style as the previous shot. Tony is wearing a western inspired poncho with the colors of his Iron Man armor. His facial expressions express the cockiness of his character that he carries with him in all his interactions.

As their staredown continues, our fourth shot is from over the shoulder of Tony. He looks as Loki approaches him with the Scepter. The colors continue to be dry and saturated as a tumbleweed is blowing past in the distance.

A typical western includes a drunk protagonist. Tony is just that, opting to threaten his opponent while he takes a sip of some alcohol. This over the shoulder shot looking at Tony taking a big gulp of his beverage demonstrate that he is a laid back yet gutsy and reckless hero that relates more to the audience that a know it all, all righteous hero.

As a typical western would have, the “draw your weapon” scene. The sixth shot is a medium long shot of Loki in action, drawing his scepter at Tony. The town building is in the background to keep the audience in the town to keep the environment small but sufficient in this scene. Similar to how the movie takes place with New York in the background but inside of Tony’s penthouse.

The seventh shot is an extreme close up of Loki’s scepter failing to fire. In an intense moment the misfire is a relief to both the protagonist and the audience.

The final frame medium shot of the scene shows Tony looking down at the Scepter pointed at his chest. His attitude provies humor in a time of chaos and concern, making the protagonist even more of a crowd favorite, and lightening the mood of the intensity.

The existing content the movie provided some pre existing western movie tropes. Taking those and going full on western creates a new take on the genre that we are proud to show off.

For my Senior Capstone, I chose to give back to the SLA Shop. Throughout my high school career the SLA Shop has given me a great deal of experience in engineering that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I wanted to grow the shops certification process by creating single procedure sheets to help students get familiar with each tool so that they may be eventually certified in the tool. Some tools in the shop do have the single sheet produced sheets, however the tools that I have created sheets for are some of the most used in our shop. I wanted to make sure that these key aspect of our space had a healthy amount of information the students could consume to properly and effectively use each tool. Doing research on each tool by reading the manuals provided by the tools companies, hands on experience, and getting feedback from fellow classmates and Mr. Kamal throughout the school year, I have created well thought out and information sheets that provide students with all the key things they need to know to operate the tools, and my hope is that they will hang above each tool for years to come.

The Final 2Fer

Introverted Extroverts

Subliminal contradictions play a big role in many lives. Most people don’t notice, and may never do so. A person with both introvert and extrovert traits may appear to be conflicting themselves. An outgoing, shy person may sound ridiculous, however this is the case for many. Although it goes against popular belief, can a person demonstrate both introvert and extrovert personality traits?

The definition of introvert is a shy, self conscious person whose actions are often directed towards themselves. The definition of extrovert is an outgoing, expressive individual whose actions are often driven outward.. These antonyms make up for plenty of people's character descriptions, however for some, they carry both traits. Whether it's just for a day or the permanent makeup of a personality. In an article by Life Hack, David Khim goes breaks down what some may see as an Introverted Extrovert, or simply mood change, bad days, and other factors in life that can lead to such perspectives. Sometimes the days exhausting or uncertain, unpleasant circumstances can create an introverted extrovert. Or a person may just simply be born like such, and have those traits all the time. Sometimes a bad day or unforeseen circumstances can change moods and motives, however this does not mean they are necessarily permanent.

The perceptions of introverts, extroverts, have there pros and cons. The two together give more layers and genuinity to a person. In a 2013 article by Belle Beth Cooper for Fast Company, she discusses what businesses think about those with both traits. In one section, she discusses how an introvert gets energy from time alone, whereas an extrovert is able to get energy from interaction. Either way, businesses see benefits in both, however the two can make for a versatile employee. Someone who can be in more than one type of scenario. This kind of employee can tend to have more than one strong point and can be a more powerful asset to a company rather than a one dimensional figure, and this kind of employee is more sought out for.

Some people openly refer to themselves as introverted extroverts. One such person is rapper Kendrick Lamar. On 2017’s DNA off his album Damn, features the line “Antisocial, Extrovert, and excellence mean the extra work, and absence what the f--- you heard”. The idea drawn by Lamar is similar to a theme in his 2016 song “untitled 06 I 6.30.2014” in which the rapper describes both sides of him to be “equally odd” in a line sung by guest artist Ceelo Green. “Both sides of me are evenly odd, it’s attractive, you're intrigued, am I mortal man or make believe” Here Kendrick makes an argument rather than a turn off, the variant in his personality makes him all the more interesting, rather than a plain one dimensional figure. Earlier in the track Lamar says “A Gemini, duality personalities always conflict in me” this line sounds similar to a person with depression and what goes on inside their brains. Kendrick has never shied away from the topic of depression in his albums, especially in 2012’s Good Kid Maad City and 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly. Reflecting on Kendrick's relationship with depression, this idea of conflicting ideas inside a human are normalized, and the idea of an Introverted Extrovert become more understandable.

Although it goes against popular belief, a person can demonstrate both introvert and extrovert personality traits. Whether its due to current life circumstances, mental state, or that's just how a person was born, it is not uncommon to encounter an introverted extrovert. Some don’t show it, others are open about it. Either way, it’s important to understand everyones differences and personalities, and when that is done, the world is one step closer to some sort of unity and community it longs for.

Why This Is My Best Possible 2Fer

In this 2Fer, I believe I had my strongest analysis and overall structure. I used the sources in different and unexpected ways and also dissected 2 tracks and Kendrick Lamar's overall theme in his music. I tried to order the paragraphs in such a way that the evidence for the thesis got stronger, and the final point was the dissection of an artist who fits the thesis description.

Bernardo and Baptista's Great Agenda Debacle.

Comparing themes of male ideals in courtship/dating from The Taming of The Shrew and West Side Story, by Luis-Manuel Morales

Oftentimes, parents or parental figures will use their authority to prioritize their agendas and overlook the wishes of their children. In Taming of the Shrew and West Side Story, Baptista and Bernardo are the parent figures of each play respectively. Baptista, the actual father of Katherine, and Bernardo, the older brother of Maria, have their priorities. Baptista remains loyal to his finances, and Bernardo remains loyal to the Sharks, his gang fellow Puerto Ricans. When Petruchio comes along, Baptista sees him as a financial gain, and arranges the marriage between him and his daughter, Katherine. Maria, on the other hand, falls in love with Tony, a white teen who is a member of the rival clique, the Jets, and Bernardo wants nothing of it. Bernardo tries to hook her up with a fellow Shark  Puerto Rican Chino. In both of these stories, the judgements of the male parental figures are blurred by bias and personal agendas, upholding reputations or the importance of gain, and they use their authority  to secure those desires.

““I know not what to say, but give me your hands. God send you joy, Petruchio. ‘Tis a match.” Baptista, Pg. 97, Act 2 Scene 1, Lines 337-339

In the Taming of the Shrew, Baptista offers his Daughter, Katherine, to Petrucio, due to the offer he strikes with him. They agree to terms on property shares if either men or Kate herself passes away. Petruchio then goes to woo Kate, however fails with her, but makes it appear as such and Baptista apoves. Throughout all of this, Baptista looks over his daughter's desires and hooks her up with a wealthy individual. Considering the deal, his previous wishes to have her mary first, and an opportunity to wed her given her reputation, he gladly ignores any obvious signs given by his daughter that she does not wish to marry him.

20170423_175934.jpg

“Get your hands off American! Stay away from my sister!” Bernardo

In West Side Story, 2 gangs in New York during the late 1950’s are constantly at a battle for their turf. The white Jets and Puerto Rican Sharks go to a dance in a neutral part of town. There, Maria, brother of the leader of the Sharks, locks eyes with Tony, an on and off member of the Jets. As the two fall for each other, Bernardo swoops in and snatches his sister away from Tony. He yells at her “Couldn't you see he’s one of them!” Still staring at the boy she just fell in love with, she replies, “No, I saw only him.” After a small altercation between both gangs, Bernardo instructs Chino to take Maria home, even though she wants to stay at the dance. In this case, Bernardo ignored his sister's wishes and desires and keeping loyal to his agenda, he sends her home with his original date, Chino, and arranges to meet with Riff, leader of the Jets, later on in the evening.

“Go, girl. I cannot blame you thee now to weep, For such an injury would vex a very saint, Much more than a shrew of [thy] impatient humor” Baptista, Pg, 117, Act 3 Scene 2, Lines 29-32

As Katherine and Baptista await Petruchio on wedding day, Kate flips out and storms off stage. Although it is an important day for both characters, Baptista dismisses her outburst as is if where nothing, almost saying ‘excuse my daughter and her shrew behavior’. Not really caring for his daughter but putting her feelings down to elevate his importance and show that this wedding is of bigger priority to him and not the bride.

20170423_200332.jpg

“Forget that boy, and find another! One of your own kind! Stick to your own kind!” Anita

After Bernardo and Riff are killed in the rumble, Maria asks a beat up Chino if Tony is ok. Chino, in shock of the question, frustratingly informs her that Tony killed her brother. Her brothers actions earlier in the story at the dance not only made her and Tony closer, but erased her worry for Bernardo and Tony became her main priority. Bernardo’s agenda and his power trip messed up the family dynamic. However, even in death, his message lives on through his widowed girlfriend, Anita. After explaining to Maria what had happened and it was a big mistake, Anita arrives home and Tony leaves. Knowing that her brother's killer was just there, She screams at Maria to date her own kind and forget about him. Still not taking Maria's feelings and true desires into consideration, the Parental unit of Bernardo and Anita neglect Maria's feeling all the way through, and don't stop to take in exactly what happened at the rumble and Marias love for the boy.

In both The Taming of the Shrew and West Side Story, the judgements of the male parental figures are blurred by bias and personal agendas, upholding reputations or the importance of gain, and they use their authority  to secure those desires.  In each story, the parental units make choices which ultimately benefitted them but used their children or loved ones and left them with the negative side effects, not them. As a parent there is a certain level of trust and acceptance you must give up that allows to to make clear, wise choices that take in the beliefs and desires of all involved to do what's best for the family, yet often times, and in the cases of Bernardo and Baptista, they’re biased, selfish choices left a trail of disaster in their wake, and unfortunately didn’t impact them the most, but the children they are supposed to care for.

Loss, Depression, and December 17th, 2015

Thursday, December 17th, 2015,  I sat on the grass of the Cira green roof park, ignoring the sound of my fellow students laughing, chatting, and having fun. The final few days leading up to the holiday break are normally filled with great joy and spending quality time with the people I love and care about. Yet I sat there alone, as reality crushed hope and realism slayed optimism. The cold breeze and cloudy, dark sky didn't help to my situation either. I sat looking out at my city. The beautiful, chaotic concrete jungle I call home. A view that never gets old for me, yet  I could not connect myself to it. I couldn't get the upcoming events out of my head.

For the past few months, My Great Grandmother had been getting more and more sick. The doctors had given her months, then weeks, then days to live over the span of less than half a month. She was the foundation of my mother's side of the family, and losing her seemed impossible to me. I couldn’t imagine a world in which Abuelita wasn’t sitting in her signature recliner when we went to visit. However her condition was the worst it had ever been. She had stopped moving and eating, and she hadn’t said a word in weeks. The impossible was becoming possible, and I was trying to hold on to that impossibility for as long as I could.

On our way home that evening, my family and I told one another that things were going to be ok. That Abuelita was going to be ok. At that moment, my grasp onto the impossible slipped. It hit me that sooner or later my beloved Abuelita was going to pass. Immediately I shut myself off and turned on autopilot, somehow getting through the night doing the minimal. I was prepping for the worse, but I had no idea it would hit so fast. Early the next morning, she passed away.

I successfully got through school that friday, the day of Abuelitas passing, without breaking down. However,  I was really going through a lot of pain on the inside. My friends Nate and Asher kept me company as I took my lunch period to go out and take some pictures for photography class. My face was covered up by the camera for almost all the shots where I was visible, except for one. A selfie with the  three of us. Nate, his happy self. Asher, his goofy self. Me, dead. My face was the pinnacle of depression. Looking back at that day, that was the result of me burying all the shit I was feeling extremely deep down and ignoring myself. It was the punishment I put myself though for not staying home to deal with what I was going though.

The world did not stop. Everything continued as is. Except for me. I had stopped walking but the world continued to spin. I felt as if I had been driving a car at a hundred miles an hour, however suddenly the car vanished. Leaving me flying with a collision course with the ground. Even though the world hadn’t changed, I had. I was kicked back and forced to attempt to adapt to a new, foreign society where the holiday season was in full swing. Happiness, family, and all this positive energy that I had begun to hate a few weeks back, however now i despised it. I had been disconnected from the cheer and festive spirit, and wasn’t ready for the challenge of trying to function in such a place where I felt like the oddball.

Even though the Holidays are all about spending time with loved ones, I wish it was under better conditions. Family from Florida came to stay with us, but It wasn’t for the reason of the season. They came for Abuelitas viewing and funeral. Trying to keep myself composed, it wasn’t much help hosting family. Obviously, I love them, but this was a time where I’d rather be alone, contrary to what my parents and family suggested, along with every damn song on the radio.

Monday, December 21st, 2015. Another day of choosing to go to school even though I clearly wasn’t fit for the job.  I dragged myself through the day, putting my emotions wherever I could. Not knowing how to express my emotions properly, I instead plowed through those seven God awful hours with terrible decisions and starting beefs that I wasn’t ready nor intended to cook. Any sympathy people had for me was taken away, which would’ve been a lot worse if I had attended school the final two days before break. Abuelitas Funeral saved me.

This was the beginning of my journey. Although there was plenty of build up dating back to freshman year, my tumble down the road of depression and coming back into a normal life kicked of with the passing of Abuelita. December of Sophomore year. Over a year later, I still haven’t fully transitioned back into the life and world I once knew. Honestly, I never think I can. This event shaped me more than any other experience in my life. Of course, I love my family and my friends. I’d catch a bullet for any of them any day. But Abuelita was the center of my heart. With that crucial piece of my life missing, everything came down.

Still working on myself, I’ve lost some touch with the world. Obviously I know what's going on, but I can’t relate or accept them like I used to. All the tragedies, family issues, an incoming Trump Presidency, I know they’re a thing. I simply can’t grasp them properly. Previously, I had a balance and connection between everything and my emotions. Now, that balance has been dismantled. I struggle to put the pieces together. Over the past year I definitely have improved, but that struggle still effects me on a day to day basis. I’ve been thrown through a loop, but at the end of the day I reflect on where I’ve come from. Nothing or nobody can replace my Great Grandma, but I know she would want me to stay strong. When it comes down to it, the only person who will never leave you is yourself, and you have to learn how to love and lean on yourself.

December 17th, 2015. The day before my life took a major turn. My world put the brakes on, slamming me forward, leaving the comfort of the reality I once knew in the dust. I’ve learned, and I am still learning how to support myself. I adored Abuelita more than anyone can imagine, and her passing destroyed and built me back up. More than a few pieces are still missing, but even though I will never be the same and I continue to struggle with some things, I’m more mature and more well prepared to face the ever changing world. Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. That fact slapped me silly when I least expected it. I learned from that one slap, however, that it’s a matter of taking those slaps and making the best out of them. In the end, the pain and suffering will pay of, no matter how far that payoff may seem. It’s there, you just have to keep charging for it.

The Great Comment Section Debacle

Written by Luis-Manuel Morales

In many ways, The internet has paved the way towards bringing the world together. Whether that be through hashtags to raise awareness, or viral videos that get everyone talking, the world is now in the midst of being intertwined by the world wide web. However, there are some major flaws in this massive communication system. The comment section was brought to various social medias and forums to keep the conversation stirring, even further then the content could do. This may sound great on paper, but the end result isn’t that pretty. Although the average internet user might not think that the current state of comment sections matters much, they're impact on the community is dangerous and contagious. If anyone can say anything on the web with no backlash in real life, the side effects of such freedoms are horrifying.

One of the freedoms that is available in the virtual world that is not as accepted in the real world is freedom of speech. In person words can backfire and damage a reputation, because a person’s identity  is almost always associated with what has been said . However, the internet has gifted the people with anonymity. Anyone can say whatever they want, without anyone knowing it was them. People are free to say whatever they please with little to no backlash in real life. This allows for the unlimited use of bigoted, racist, and crude remarks for many people to go crazy with.

With anonymity giving people freedom to say everything and anything, room for meaningful and constructive conversation in the comment section has become scarce. Those who wish to positively interact in their community are met with a deep dark cyberbullying wormhole.  Whether that be simple playground taunts or vulgar, crude threats, the issue that is cyberbullying has taken over these sections of the internet.  Despite many sites, such as youtube, putting systems in place to report such behavior, they are rarely enforced properly. This isn’t necessarily the fault of the sites themselves, as the amount of reports in comparison to the amount of employees is ridiculous. This shows an even greater problem, which is that these sites are well aware of the issue. They take some steps to try and prevent it, however they do not take the proper measures to permanently fix the issue.

Giving the people this kind of freedom is dangerous. It makes monsters out of good hearted hearted souls. Even though in concept the privileges given in a comment section are not mischievous and are for the better, they do not result in so. Christopher Wolf of the Anti-Cyberhate Committee of the Anti-Defamation League, discussed this very topic in a debate for the New York Times.  “Anonymity has an important role in free expression and for privacy interests, to be sure. But the benefits of anonymity online are greatly outweighed by the abuse.” What he is saying here is that although websites allow anonymity for good and justified reasons, those who take advantage of it ruin the spirit of the community. Normal people who positively contribute to the conversation are drowned out by such people, and often times they result to fighting fire with fire. Before they know it they are contributing to the chaos that once plagued them.

The comment Section was meant to be an extension of the conversation held in the content proceeding it. It has never really been that, however, as the internet has grown over the years, this feature has become less of a conversation and more of an unwanted spam folder full of  bots and degrading , off topic comments and conversations. "It's hard to determine whether this problem can be fixed, or rather if letting humans free with complete anonymity was simply a doomed plan from the start."

Reader Profile: Hadleigh Stammers

This is Hadleigh. She's a reader. Her favorite genre is Realistic Fiction, as it isn't super realistic but not far fetched and relatable to her life. If Hadleigh was only able to choose one book for the rest of her life, she wouldn't be able to choose as she says she would get bored easily. Her reading Happy place is the Beach, as it is relaxing and peaceful, and there's not much else to do. Hadleigh's reading weakness is that she gets distracted easily.

If Hadleigh could throw one book out the window, it would be The Catcher and the Rye by J.D> Salinger (pictured above). She says that the book is well written and the characters are well crafted, however they are very frustrating at times. Moving on to more positive things, a childhood book of hers that she still enjoys to this day is Wonder by Raquel J. Palacio. Hadleigh praised the book for being nicely written and full of life lesson that taught her a lot. She learned to be more open minded from the "Moving and inspiring" novel.

ACE Mentor Program ILP

My ILP is with the ACE Mentor Program, and my group meets every two weeks to work on our project. We are working on a redesign of the Drexel Armory, not actually gutting the place out but creating all the blueprints and following the procedures that would take place before an actual construction project where to occur. It's very interesting seeing the process  and all the factors that go into redesigning, let alone constructing a new building. We have to take into consideration the amount of power is needed, the amount of air that is required, and the budget and schedule that is needed to make these things happen. Let alone all of the different people who are needed to make the plans people. It has been a great learning with professionals on how many of the things we don't pay attention too are so vital to our everyday lives and has opened my eyes to many great career paths that could be cool to explore.

Grants Re-Election :Reconstruction Era Visuals Project

Posted by Luis-Manuel Morales in African American History - Jonas - E on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 12:05 pm
SCREENSHOT THIS ONE.png

For my visual for my project, I decided to create a campaign poster for President Grant during his re-election run in 1872. A big influence was the appearance, at an initial site I wanted the poster to look relatively antique, and include the word re-elect very large, so the viewer knew immediately what I was showing to them. I also decided to use the Special Elite font to mimic the typewriter letters that were used in that time.

I wanted to include a picture of the President himself, which is why I included his portrait from the whitehouse.gov website. However I really wanted the main focus to be the things that he did during his first term to show the states why he should continue to lead. A really big note of the first time was the ratification of the 15th Amendment. President Grant really pushed for this Amendment to pass, and was indeed successful. Granting the newly freed slaves their right to vote gained him much attention, good and bad, and definitely was one of the biggest highlights of his presidency.

A vital key to my poster is the stress on Grant protecting both blacks and whites. During his presidency the fate of a stable country lied in his hands. During reconstruction the states where bonded with very weak glue, and the president had to make sure everyone was pleased. Being that typically whites viewed themselves as more than blacks, he needed to find a common ground where the two races could not necessarily agree, but co-exist. A few examples which are summarized in the phrase “Protecting and preserving the welfare of the people of this great nation, no matter their color.” Include Grant sending troops to protect the newly freed slaves from hate groups.

Ultimately expressing President Grants accomplishments and milestones his first few years in office was my goal, and to do so in a small, yet eye catching and unique campaign styled poster. This is my Artist statement for my interpretation for Presidents Grants’ Re-Election Campaign.

Q3 Art Reflection!!!!!

Posted by Luis-Manuel Morales in Art - Freshman - Hull - y1 on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 12:47 pm
With my final project I accomplished stabilizing my motor skills, which I found to be a challenge going into this project. Over the course of the final drawing I found I was able to steady my ruler better with concentration and the fact that 100 points where on the line.

If I where to to it again, I would protect my paper better so I wouldn't have to start over. I would also like to add more detail to my floor area.

One drawing I a saw was a perfect representation of the room with every single detail. It was perfect angle wise and as an artistic remake of our room.

I learned that with one point perspective, everything goes to one point of the paper and nowhere else.

MY TECH SLIDE LMM

This is my slide for tech! I aimed to catch the viewer by using three name colors, red, white and blue. In the fanatic word, I spelled it PHanatic, Then I added different colors, those of the Philly Phanatic. These colors appeal to the viewers at a glance, but then also make them observe the details in the slide. The words represent my love for cars. But the colors show my Puerto Rican and American pride, and the phanatic word shows my Philadelphia pride. I then Downloaded my slide as a PDF, and inserted the HTML Embed code to this post. I also gained inspiration from this website.

TECH SLIDE (3)
It's time for improvement! As you will notice I have stretched the Lamborghini to take up more of the slide. I aim for this car to attract eyes, as they do in real life. I also changed the background color to grey to allow the car and letters to stand out more. I also noticed that the misspelled fanatic and colorful letters took away from my main point I am attempting to communicate, so I just stuck with silver/white.

Teens and Net Neutrality. Should YOU care?

Well, you have somehow stumbled upon my blog post. And as you can tell from the title, I am going to talk about Net Neutrality. But first, a little background. Net Neutrality is what is cheapening to your internet data right now! As of the day I am writing this, (12/23/2014) Internet Service Providers are not allowed to treat your data differently than they way they treat mines or anyone else. However, this might change.

Recently there has been a huge debate over this lately. ISP's aren't exactly happy about some of the views in our government. Take president Obama as an example. Many republicans are angry over his view on the matter. Sure, this happens all the time in Washington. You many be interested in this one though, and it does in fact relate to you.

If Net Neutrality is gone, the internet as it is now will be gone. You'll probably run into websites that your ISP ha blocked, because they can. You may also have slower internet, and you will need to pay more if you want faster internet. Which is just what you had before Net neutrally was gone. So chose what you want, a blocked, slowed down internet, or a normal fair one we have now. Because one day, this is going to be in our hands.

Home Network Morales

mind mapping software
Hello SLA! I present to you today my Home network! My family no longer uses Ethernet chords, so everything is wireless. My Xbox 360, Chromebook, Tablet, family Laptop, Phone, Ipod, and Wii easily connect to the wifi. My printer is rather complex, it is not wired to my modem, so it as well lives on the network via wireless.

My OMG moment was when I scrambled to find how the internet is brought into my home. I eventually found the wire, but it lead straight to the ground. Upon further investigation I discovered that the wire comes through the basement up through the walls and to the Modem and Cable box.
