Here is the link to the Prezi I made demonstrating the effects that will happen and change the way the American Dream will look like in the future.

For this project, we wanted to show the inner connectivity between eduction, the economy, and the American Dream. We constructed a flow chart to show this relation using pictures and quotes of how the American dream is perceived within different time periods.

Everything is bigger, everyone becomes more greedy and wants more but "needs" more.

Conversation Question: What is the daily life a person living in Spain like?


Pre-Conversation:

•  What will be your topic of conversation be?

I will try to find out what a typical day in the life of a person living in Spain is like. I will inquire about what time people usually go to work, eat lunch and dinner. I also want to know what people do on their weekends. I have been hearing on the news lately that Spain is facing a huge economic crisis. I also want to find out about how this is affecting people in Spain.

•  What are 5 questions related to your conversation goal that you can think of ahead of time to ask your partner?

1. What time you wake up and you go to bed?

2. What time do you eat lunch?

3. When do you have work?

4. Do you go to church on Sundays?

5. What do you do for fun on the weekends?

6. How are the current economic problems affecting people you know?

•  What are you looking forward to about this conversation?

I am looking forward to having a long, sustained conversation because I have so many questions to get answered. I am also looking to share things about the United States, especially Philadelphia, with the person I talk to.

•  What are you nervous about?

I have gotten so used to sharedtalk that I am not nervous about anything. I am only feeling excited to get the conversation started because I have an interesting conversation question that I can't wait to get answered.

• Who did I speak with and why did I choose that person?

I spoke to Luna Riverio and I chose her because she was the same age as me (17 years old). I wanted to get the views of a young, relatable person. Luna also lived in Madrid, which is a city similar in size to Philadelphia and I wanted compare my daily routine with her's.

• What did you learn about them? What did you learn from them?

I learned that Luna is a 17 year old living in Madrid. On the weekends, Luna likes to go to the movies or the theater, visit the park, sing and play the guitar. Sundays are spent with the family. Luna is a ballerina and she practices for 3 hours everyday after school. Luna said that her family does not have financial problems but life is bad for other people. Because of the poor economic situation people do not go on vacations, to the movies or go out to eat. I learned that people in Spain often go to work at 8 in the morning and eat lunch at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. One thing that I thought was interesting is that people in Spain typically eat dinner at 9-10 PM and a meal often consists of tapas. This is a huge contrast to the United States because most families usually eat dinner at 6-7 PM. The most common form of transit in Spain is the metro/subway.

• How did this interaction help you move towards achieving your personal goal?

My personal goal is to learn about the life, politics and culture of foreign countries while at the same time learning new Spanish vocabulary and using my current vocabulary to effectively communicate. I this conversation, I was able to fulfill all of the above goals since I learned a lot of new vocabulary words and I got to use my existing vocabulary to talk to Luna. I also got a glimpse into the daily life of people in Spain.

• What specifically did you do well according to your goals/expectations?

I was able to get all of my questions answered and even after this, I still kept the conversation going. I also responded to Luna's questions about my life in the United States. I did not just keep on asking questions after questions. I not only gain valuable knowledge about Spain but I also got the opportunity to tell Luna about my daily routine and what I do on the weekends and after school.

• What specifically do you need to improve on?

For this conversation, I had to use word reference a few times in order for me to ask Luna some of my questions. I decided to use word reference because I really wanted to get my questions answered because I worked so hard preparing them. I have not used any translation help for my two previous blogs so I felt a little bad using it now. However, this will push me harder to try to use my current Spanish vocabulary to get my point across without using word reference.

​​Cine Ideal is the most common movie theater in Madrid.

Right now, the American Dream revolves around becoming famous and getting that 15 minutes of fame and it all leads into money. A hundred years from now the dream will be to make everything even MORE convenient and the future will become a world revolving around electronics. It won't be " What you can do for your country." but instead "What can robots do for you?"

1. Negative Space is the area around the image and inside the image in spaces. It is not taken up by the image and can be described as the background.


2. For the cut out I took notice of the green color. I knew that this would be my positive space, forcing the black part of the artwork to become negative space. For the stool I drew the outline of all the objects. Afterwards I added in the details of negative space within the shape.


3. I think it helps the artist see the background. The background is a very important part in any form of art. Seeing the negative space and not only the positive space helps create a balance between the two.

4. In my opinion it does enhance drawings. If you had only positive space you could be left with an irregular shape that has hundred of possibilities. By having negative space within the drawing you can figure out what the shape is because you get a better view and detail precision.

The modern day generalization of the American dream consists of Home own-age, financial stability, and luxurious materials. . 

The transition from the modern day american dream and future american dream will be the effect of a brutal war that causes all of technology to be destroyed. the people of the future will live like the first people who roamed earth. This will cause the dedication to finding religious explanations to their existence. The new American dream is to prolong knowledge of the human existence. 

I wanted to make a bold issue that I think will happen 200 years from now and compare to current day in today's society. So I believe that in 2212 instead of walking, humans will now have the ability to fly. 

​What is negative space?
Its like space around the drawing that is not being drawn on. 
Explain how you find the negative space in your cut out and your stool drawing.
Well, you first draw the stool and everything, and you look at everything that is not in the main focus, meaning that when you draw a negative space, your drawing the outling of the image, not in between the spaces .
Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings?
Personally, it does , infact it makes it look better too.It makes it looks 3-D.
Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?
Because it helps the artist to see the real view of it, and where to actually draw it from there point of view .

"Together we can save lives."

This is a picture of the "American Dream" in the future that will soon turn into a nightmare. In the past few years, the amount of teenage pregnancies have gone up dramatically. Kids are having kids which made them learn to grow up fast. In the population of the people is increasing also due to kids and adults having kids that they aren't financially stable for, the competition has gone up for education, jobs, and living the average "American Dream". In my picture, I was describing that the next decade will care more about electronics, Facebook, Twitter, non-social interaction with people and worship that more than morals that America was set on. Also I believe that the more females there are pregnant and since America is a debt, than dads won't be around being there and not giving money which will have more single moms. Also since the population is increasing there won't be enough room for every kid to go to America. So most kids won't have that opportunity to be that one step ahead because of the actions and consequences of others.
