Quarter Three Benchmark Reflection

The topic came across by my history teacher bringing up the Native American boarding schools when we suggested that we wanted to do an odd/unique topic that not many people speak upon. Slavery within races is talked about in many ways and under many lights but it is rare for it to be on the slavery of a Native American. That is one of the main reasons that this topic was chosen.

The group documentary as the type of presentation that was selected for the format of presenting this project was decided based upon the fact that it would be convenient for us to transform our papers into something visual for the audience to view. It was something that we knew that the main primary sources would be easier shown than explained. The abuse and Americanization of the Native Americans are shown through photos, and interviews.

The trouble that was caused by trying to do this project was the time management. The mishap of procrastinating tripped me up when it came around for the project to be almost due. I believe if I could have a good week to just still work on the project, it would be so much better than what it is now. Although I cannot sit here and say that I am not proud of the work that I handed in, because I’m definitely content to what the project blossomed to be.  As of now, I think that if I had to the whole project all over I would probably instead of turning in a group documentary I would do an individual paper or a group performance.

Throughout doing this project, I learned that Native Americans really are settlers and that a government has stripped their morals and values that really are not at all the people whom have founded this place. The Native Americans have been conquered by a government and been placed on special places that are considered to be theirs, when really all of it is theirs. It’s a shame, that the United States government has degraded a people that have done nothing but be good to them and manipulate them to a place where they were considered to be as low as a savage.

The government can civilize and Americanize a group of people that were here on this soil first and brain wash them to become a group of  people that is of what now to be American like.

Too Good To Be True

When things seem to good to be true, it probably is. I met someone who seemed perfect, a dream, too good to be true. Not only that she was good, she wasn't true. She told me a lie, and thought I wouldn't find out. When I found out, I spent time with her to tell me the truth, but she still sat in my face with a smile hiding a lie. Never go for the unbelievable, because that's exactly what they are, unbelievable.

Begining of the story ive been writing recently

as i previously explained, i write stories and sell them to people who wish to continue them. this is one of the stories i wrote recently but its only a part:

Alright! Today, we are introducing a new student to Lenten High.” Exclaimed Mr. Tomonaga. “Please welcome, Daichi Tatsuya.” At first, no one came into the room. But after a moments’ hesitation, a young boy, about the age of fifteen walked in. Standing at about 5’8, right under where his name was written on the board, was a young looking, light skinned boy sporting a ponytail with electrifying green eyes. He was wearing a sweater vest, sweat pants with cuffs at the bottom and American high-top sneakers. Everyone in the classroom became momentarily silent as Daichi waved awkwardly. After introductions were over, everyone continued to talk amongst each other and pay no attention to the New Kid. Daichi slowly began his short walk toward his desk. To him, that walk felt like; a hike through the jungle, a voyage on the sea, a long catwalk in which everyone and everything was just waiting for him to mess up. As Daichi finally found his seat, he didn’t notice the person watching him: Ramona Toru-Nakamura. Ramona’s seat was one spot to the left and two seats behind Daichi’s and she began to enjoy Daichi’s presence before she even spoke to him.

Spring Breeze

I kind of like the weather right now even though it is raining.  It is the perfect kind of weather for a lazy Sunday morning/afternoon.  I was supposed to go meet up with Eric in center city today for our one year anniversary but the bus schedule is all messed up.  They only come once an hour and since I have work later, it is kind of risky to go all the way to center city and have to make sure I get to work on time.  Anyway, the weather is really beautiful.  It's not too hot but not too cold at the same time.  I am sitting here in my room and the window is open.  The cool breeze is amazing.  Now I kind of want to go back to sleep!

Pink Friday: Another Nicki

My sister did my hair for my birthday, and made the decision for me that I'd look nice with a Chinese bang. I wanted a side bang, but I trusted her judgment. The first comment my friend made was that I looked like Nicki Minaj. Now, I hate Nicki Minaj. I hate her attempt at rap, her stereotypical appearance, and her dysfunctional purpose. The thought of even slightly resembling Nicki Minaj stirs my nerves because half of the female teenage population is trying to resemble Nicki Minaj these days. I'd hate to be compared to them. "Well look, another Nicki." But no, I'm not another Nicki. I may wear the style that she has turned into a trademark, but I will never be another Nicki. I have too much respect for the power of words then to turn them into foolish lyrics. I understand the true essence of beauty all to well then to enhance my body for popularity. And I know where I want to go in my life, and becoming an attempted singer/ rapper/ small time actress doesn't fall into that category.

Story #26

Saturday started off perfectly fine. I cleaned up and did laundry. Once 6 O'clock hit I thought maybe I should get dressed and head out. Everyones plans just didn't sound appeasing. One friend suggested a hotel party I thought no. Another suggested the movies I thought why pay when I get free tickets in advance. My bf suggested bowling I'm tired of losing so I told him I wasn't up to it. Surprisingly my mother suggested the best thing. She said "how about you go to sleep." I looked at her sideways and said "great idea." That's how I spent a beautiful Saturday evening.

A Bit of Advice...

Things Not To Attend With One's Father And A Pair of Visiting Spainards:
A stand up comedy show in which there are numerous references to sex, blowjobs, and drunken shenanigans.

You're welcome world. I hope you have learned.

I was in line waiting to make my order at wendys and I overheard this conversation:

boy 2: "u never gonna be"
boy 1: "im a bee, u stupid!!"

I think it was funny  =)

Tuesdays with Morrie: rewritten first page

My professor was old and my last classes with him were every Tuesday after breakfast. We talked about the meaning of life.

I wasn't given a grade, I just had to hold a conversation and make sure he was comfortable. Being nice about it made me feel good inside. I liked being able to comfort an old man in his last days.

On the day of my graduation, I attended his funeral.
