Let me tell you, it's so delicious, you don't even need any toppings!

1) La topografía de Guatemala es muy variada.  Hay montañas, volcanes, costas y playas.  La mayoría de la población es maya.  La guerra civil de Guatemala fue 36 años y terminó en 1992.  

2) Aprendí que Rigoberta Menchú ganó el Premio Nobel de la paz para su lucha para derechos humanos en Guatemala.  Ella es maya y habla quiché, pero aprendió español y escribió un libro.  Estuvo perseguido por sus raíces.  

I managed to found some paper to write a journal, so I figured id write down what is going on, I have awoken on an island, and do not know where I am located, last I remember I was on a mission to defend the U.S from an Attack from an unknown life force. I have no weapon no nothing, so I acted quickly to create a shelter. I have made some basic tools to help me dig, and a box to store my stuff in, the wildlife seems to consist of wild dogs, pigs, and cows. the night is peaceful. I hope to cook some pork tomorrow after some hunting

Reflection:

a. What went well?
The things that went well with the group is that we had a lot of knowledge about our topic and we knew how we wanted to present that knowledge to our peers.
b. What did not?
The things that did not go well with the group is that sometimes the whole group was not together in one place, and sometimes we could not find all the info we needed so we needed to do deeper research.
c. What would you do differently next time?
The things that we said we would try to do differently is to make sure we are all on ethe same page about what information we have found.
d. Specifically comment on the 10 tips for effective infographics -

Be Concise: This makes sure that everyone you are presenting to knows and gets all the knowledge that you have.

Be Visual: If the visual is attractive then people will gravitate to your project and want to know more about it.

Be Smarter: If you think deeper about your topic then you will have more ideas and have a better project overall.

Be Transparent: If you can see your project how someone else would see your project then you can make your project that much better.

Be Different: People like different because it is appealing so you should always be different.

Be Accurate: If someone is reading your project it needs to be accurate so that people can know exactly what you are saying.

Be Attractive: If you project looks good it will make people feel good!

Be Varied: have some differences and some debates on you topic that is always interesting to a reader or viewer.

Be Gracious: The topic is a sensitive one depending on who's point of view you are telling it in so be mindful of the  different types of people that will or may be reading it.

Be Creative: creativity is always is a plus because it shows how much time and effort you put into giving a good.

Which of these areas did you excel in? I excel in transparency and creativity Which were not so well represented? varied and gracious  Why do you think some elements of design were easier or harder to include in the end product? Sometimes this happens because there are so many things that you want to focus one that you forget the little things that make that difference in whether someone likes the project or doesn't.

i. The project was carried out very collaboratively amongst group's                 members. 
ii. Productive communication of ideas

b. What did not? 
i. No effort was put in outside of classroom
ii. Focus too much on research, and leave little time for designing

c. What would you do differently next time? 
i. Work on the infographic at home additionally to class time
ii. Outline research questions before go on to research
iii. Structure the infographic while researching.
iv. Create checkpoints
v. Include some analysis (of datas, political conflicts,...)

Which of these areas did you excel in? 
I feel that we did excel in being creative (primarily for the great idea of spiral, but failed to carry it out); being concise as info is straightforward; being accurate by getting on point with what was asking; being attractive for the non-tedious look. 


Which were not so well represented? 
We did not represent the government's responses to the action, although we have the info. At the same time, we should have included some basic facts, such as costs, numbers of cleaning up days...so that it could be more specific and informative. The infographic also did not carry out so well the devastation of the incident. 

a. We worked well together and everybody did their part. ​It was good that we did the work and got handed it in on time.
b. Even though we worked well the information we found was sort of the same so it wasn't that much information that was deep into it.
c. Try to use primary source documents to get the present point of view from that time.

We had a really solid research process where we found a bunch of resources and interesting background to the Oklahoma Lead Contamination. However when we went to make our infographic, we started on the wrong foot, we drew ours. We were supposed to digitalize our infographic. So what went wrong for us was transferring all of our hard work onto the computer. Next time we should stick to the guidelines, however I think we successfully make it concise, informative and interesting to look at.

32 more days of school left!!!

This weekend has been very exciting. About 6 of my cousins came over and stayed until Sunday Evening. On Friday I spent the evening cleaning my room and watching "Scream 4". On Saturday I went to Men's Warehouse to get fitted for my tuxedo. While leaving Men's Warehouse I went to purchase a water ice around the corner from my house. When I finally arrived home, I watched tv with my cousin that night until we decided to watch Scream 4 again. On Sunday I slept for majority of the day until that night when I'd awaken to work on school work.
