Me Encanta Aqu: Sierra Dinvil

For this project we had to create a song in spanish that answered the question "Where am I from". We did this by first writing a song and then recorded it on a program called garage band, and then imported it. 

From this project I learned how to work garage more efficiently and learned a lot more about conjugated verbs.

I'm proud of my overall song, I think it's really good. I worked really hard on it, and hopefully you can tell. 


If I could do this project over I would try and  figure out how to make my vocals louder.


Note: when listening to the song, make sure you use both headphones or else you wont hear it. :)

  • This is just a song talking about the things I think Philadelphia gave me.
  • I learned how to make a song, how to more effectively use Garageband, and proper conjugation .
  • I'm definitely proud that it doesn't sound like a hot mess, especially since I was singing in Spanish. I also like the length, it's almost the length of most songs these days, which I'm really impressed with.
  • I think I'd spend more time trying to fine-tune my Spanish pronunciation, mainly because I tend to stutter on most of the words I say. If I get used to saying the words, I'll be more comfortable saying them, and less likely to stutter.

​​Basically, my song is just about how I'm from Philadelphia and how my family and friends play a big part in my life. I mention how there are time where I don't want to leave my family. 

Not only did I learn new vocab, I also learned how to work GB a bit more.

I'm exceptionally proud of my beat, since it took me about four hours to figure out from just listening to the original song over and over again.

If I were to do it over again, I think I would try to write another verse or two.

This project was very fun. I was able to write a song that is a short reflection of my life. I was able to explore different ways to express my life in Spanish. I learned a few new words and I also learned how to work with some new programs. I learned a lot about other people as well from reviewing their work.  I'm proud of my song because I'm not a singer and it took a lot of courage for me to preform this. I think I would change my lyrics if I were to do this project over again.

My project was the simple song and it explained how I feel about my birth place, New York, and how I consider that my true home. I can't wait to go back and I sung about all the reasons why I want to go back. 


I learned that I'm still no good with singing in spanish and with using garage band. It's also very difficult to rhyme and sing in a different language.

I'm really proud of my overall message and I that I actually completed it because I struggled with this assignment. It didn't turn out tooo bad..

I'd use simpler words that are easier to pronounce and I would pick a beat first because it's harder to find a beat after you have written the song.

  • The project tells of my love of the Philadelphia Zoo, the place that feels like home to me. It also tells of my "extended family", the inhabitants of the zoo.
  • I learned that writing a song is indeed fun, but also challenging. When it must be writing in a foreign language, the difficulty increases.
  • I am especially proud of the vocabulary that I used in the song. I felt as though it was somewhat creative.
  • If I could redo the project, I would have spent more time at home working on it. This is because I feel that although we had plenty of class time to work on the song, the more time, the better.

Out of this project there were many things that I gained. The number one thing I go out if tthis was a chance to use and,expand my vocabulary. I got the chance to look up words I thought I never would use in Spanish. I always got to exercise my speaking skills and learned that although my Spanish isn't great I can still do things with the knowledge I do have. There isn't anything that I'm especially proud of for this project. I feel like I did okay with it but many things could have been done differently and better. If I were to do this project over again I would do a lot of things differently. Firstly I would have taken more time  finding a good flow to the lyrics and stead of doing it like a spoken word. I took too much time being indecisive on picking a song. Also, I was having a lot of trouble working garage band and ended up getting frustrated with it which made the final product not as good as it could have been.

​From this project I didn't learn much. It was more of a refresh of Spanish 2 for me, because now I remember a large chunk of what I was taught in Spanish 2. 

I like the whole thing. It was a pretty fun project to do. I'm proud with my overall product, and that I had enough time to put into a video.

If I were to do it again, I'd redo my lyrics into something that flows a bit better.

This project was about where we are from and how that effects who we are today. We learned about ourselves as people and how our cultural backgrounds overlap living in Roxborough. We also learned how different we are from each other because we are from other halves of the world. We are proud of how fast we were able to pull the song together. We both had major time issues with work both in and out of school but in the end we were able to finish the project. If we could redo this project we would both like to spend more time on the recording of the project.

Well I am very into poetry, so I made my project very slow and something you can relax to (what my poetry is like) in order to maybe grasp how the video would connect to it. I learned a lot of pacing of music and how you don't actually have to sing for something to be a song. It really refreshed some of my memory to past spanish that I learned but haven't seen in a while. I am proud of how it flows together very softly and nicely. I don't think it's easy to hear me, but if I made it any louder it would have just sounded over bearing and not as I wish it could.

-My lyrics are about my school life in New Jersey which is where I was born and lived at till I moved to Philly in eighth grade. Its also about my name and what i thought of New Jersey. I talked about my best friend Tyler Roman.

The project is a song of where we came from and what we're surrounded by everyday. I learned to actually evaulate my surroundings and think about what there. Instead of just living there, I actually see it. I especially like my chorus. It's who I am, and I care about my friends, and they care about me. It's just a natural mutual feeling. I'd change some of my lyrics in the verses if I had a better understanding of spanish to say slang. I'd only use slang because it'd be used in a "friendly" sense.

Condo yo nació yo siempre estaba con los puertorriqueños y lo gentes siempre estaba hablando en español. Pero yo nació aquí en la cuida de el amor de hermanos Filadelfia. Pero, en la parte de norte y estaba lleno de puertorriqueños so yo mas o menos estaba en puerto rico por que lo gentes estaba actuado como se taba en Puerto Rico.

This project is a song about where im from. it revolves more around the city i am raised in and the few things in detail that i do/am involved in when in my neighborhood. Throughout the assembly of this projects i learned a few things. i learned how similar the people in cuba and possibly other hispanic areas suffer from poverty and other issues. we are similar because america has issues too. and both america and cuba express their ordeals throughout art/music. i proud of the the beat of the song and how i used a small amount of given requirements to create a song about where im from. if i were to change something about my project it would be the length of it and the quality of the audio. i would make the song longer and more interesting. Also use better options to enhance my audio.

For this project, our spanish class had to create a song in spanish about where we come from. I learned more spanish vocabulary and how to work iMovie more. I am proud of my final product because I made a song in spanish and made a music video for it as well. If I could do it over again, I would change the words of the song to make it flow better because that was one of the things I had trouble with.

For this project we had to create a song that described where we come from. I learned how to talk about my family in Spanish. I am proud of how the video turned out. If I could change something I would write better music and try to line the pictures up with the lyrics.

This project was based on the song "537 Cuba". The song is about a man who misses his home. Our songs were also about where wer came from. This was good practice to get back into spanish class and creating sentences. I didn't use google translate for this project which is awesome. I wish I had worked more on singing in spanish.

GRUPO: Imani Johnson - Annisa Ahmed - Nick Manton

1. For our song, we basically wrote our thoughts on where we're from in Philly, our neighborhood, our family, our customs, and SLA. We each wrote two lines in each verse, but in our refrain we wrote three lines.

2. We learned that it's pretty difficult to write about where we're each individually from and to try to combine that with each's other's point of views. We also learned that re-editing takes time and is a key measure in creating a spectacular project.

3. We are proud are lyrics because they express our inner thoughts and feelings towards the environment we spend everyday of our lives in.

4. We would change the tone of our voice. We sound pretty dry and if we could make it more spicy, it would make our song sound a lot better.

The task was to create a song in spanish answering question "Where I am from?"

I learned that If you think in english and try to convert to spanish it way too difficult. When you start in spanish you develop a rhythm and new vocabulary. It is basically just finding words that fit and flow thats how you expand the use of your spanish words. 

In the beginning I was really stressed about my first verse because I wanted it to be great. I struggled with making it flow. For my second verse I decided not to pressure myself and It came out great I really liked and it took less time. So I am proud that I allowed myself to be free and I love my song outcome!

I would practice even more than I already did on my spanish accent.

For this project we had to crate a song or music video answering the question of "¿Do dónde vengo yo?," which means where did we come from. I answered that question in a variety of ways.
I learned alot more spanish than I thought I would have because I had to know my lyrics to be able to sing the song. 
I am proud I got this done and that I had fun with it.
I would change the way I sang it. Some breaks in the singing are unnecessary.
