Reflection:Novelas

        1)    Durante este proyecto yo aprendí que actuar no es tan fácil como parece y es muy difícil trabajar junto con amigos porque ellos también sentían lo mismo que yo. Todo fue especialmente difícil cuando los muchachos se vistieron como niñas porque casi no podíamos resistir de reír. La parte mas difícil para nosotros fue arreglar y encontrar los ángulos de la camera para que toda la escena fuera filmada.

      2)    Yo escribí todo lo que nosotros teníamos que decir y eso me gusto pero también fue un poco difícil. Yo creo que nosotros trabajamos muy bien juntos, escuchamos las ideas de todos y lo combinamos en nuestra novela. Yo creo que nosotros trabajamos muy bien juntos y eso fue nuestra fortaleza mayor.  

        3)    Si podíamos hacerlo otra ves yo creo que quisiera cambiar nuestro establecimiento porque nosotros usamos “the teachers lounge” y la habitación fue muy pequeña, eso hico cosas mucho mas difícil para filmar porque necesitábamos cambiar los ángulos de la camera constadamente. Yo creo que esto saco mucho de nuestra novela porque necesitábamos hacer muchos “cuts” cortos. 

          4)    Yo quiero que todos que vean nuestra novela se dan cuenta de los esteriotipas de mujeres y cuando lo vean piensen dos veces antes de hablarle a una mujer con falta de respecto y con mala actitudes que todos los hombres son mejor de mujeres y que los hombres son mas importantes. Quiero que cuando todos los hombres ven a nuestro proyecto empiezan a tratar a una mujer como sus iguales y no como alguien que son debajo ellos.

Leer Bestario por Julio Cortezar no es fácil, pero al mismo tiempo no es bastante difícil. Hay muchas palabras que no entiendo, y cuando estoy cansada o no puedo enfocar, es muy difícil comprender el texto. Cuando es posible enfocar en el libro, me gusta mucho leer, y no es muy difícil. Me gusta que las cuentas son breves porque cuando no entiendo uno puedo leer dos veces. Cuando he leído el fin de una cuenta, ya conozco las temas y los nombres, entonces es más fácil entender el principio. Cuando no conozco bien el vocabulario, usualmente busco las palabras en el internet o un diccionario. Me gusta escribir las palabras nuevas en una hoja o, si puedo, en el libro. A veces, no busco la palabra porque puedo entender usando el contexto o otras palabras similares que conozco.
Me gusta mucho aprender español por leer novelas y otras cosas, como poemas. Muchas veces yo leo una frase que no conozco y entonces puedo usarla. Me ayuda mucho con mi gramática y vocabulario, pero es mucho mas divertido que usar "flashcards".

​I learned that making a colleague isn't as easy as I thought it would be. In fact, there was much tedious work in finding pictures and cutting them as close to perfect as possible. It was also a wee bit difficult to fit the poem on the board but after some time we figured it out.

My group split up the work easily. The three of us all found a board which marina cut in the shape of the female sign. I found pictures that represented empowered female women. After two days of scanning through magazines and finding various photos for our colleague, I then cut the pictures as perfectly as I could. Once done with that Marina and I organized the board, and then glued the pictures. While Marina found a poem that related to empowered female women, cut out the poem, and pasted the poem, Jonas wrote a 3 paragraph summary about the colleague, with Marina and my input.

If given a second opportunity I would have added more pictures. I originally wanted to cover the whole board in pictures but I didn't realize how much the poem would take up and how it can be difficult to find pictures representing empowered hispanic women.

I feel like people have the sense that women in Hispanic culture aren't empowered and that men reign much more power over them. However, that is changing and there are many powerful and influential women in Hispanic speaking countries and  this colleague definitely shows that. It shows how so oftenly women are used for sex appeal, but it also shows the side of how that view of women is breaking.

I literally had no time this weekend to post anything for this class. On Saturday I worked from 9am-5pm. As soon as I got home from work I took a shower and was right back out the door to go meet Roberto. Roberto and I our making a cookbook for our capstone and on that Saturday night we decided to meet up go food shopping and then cook some meals which turned out wonderfully.  We cooked from 8pm-11:30 pm, by the time we were done I was knocked out. By 8am on Sunday I was up and getting ready for work. By 8:30am I was out the door. I worked from 9am-4pm that day and by the time I got off work I met up with my mom, grandmom, and my mom's boyfriend for dinner. Afterwards, I went back to grandmom's house. She has internet connection there, but of course when I showed up it was not working, so I couldn't post anything then.

Someone shared a piece of information, about their personal life, with me. I've learned something new about this person. There was nothing said that meant I needed to keep this information a secret, but I knew it was something that was not to be brought up again, at least, not by me.

Leer Cajas de Cartón En español es muy fácil porque el lenguaje en el libro no es muy complicado. También es un libro muy corto y simple, entonces, pienso que lo puedo terminar pronto, si lo leo con frecuencia. Cuando no entiendo una palabra en la lectura, marco esa palabra, y leo el resto de el párrafo para ver si tengo una mejor idea de lo que significa esa palabra. Si aún no la entiendo, entonces busco su significado en el diccionario. Se me hace difícil sacar tiempo de leer el libro porque tengo muchas cosas que hacer durante el día, y no me da mucho tiempo de leer el libro, pero ahora estoy cogiendo tiempo, por las noches, para leer algunos capítulos del libro todos los días. Me gusta aprender vocabulario con el libro porque me gusta leer. Es una forma fácil y divertido para aprender nuevo vocabulario en español. Se me hace difícil a veces leer el libro, pero si me gusta leerlo.

Reflexión de “Entre Amigas”

En el tercer cuarto de mi clase de español cinco, fuimos  asignado un proyecto que representara las diferentes representaciones de los varios aspectos de la mujer latinoamericana en la televisión y en la vida real. Yo trabajé en un grupo con Fanklin, Thea, Isabela, Emilisa, y Jaccar. Nosotros hicimos un programa de televisión,  específicamente para mujeres, donde entrevistamos a una actriz. En el programa, hablamos con la actriz sobre su representación de la mujer en comparación con la mujer del diario vivir. Decidimos hacer el programa en imovie porque decidimos que era la opción más divertido para nosotros. La pregunta esencial del proyecto fue, "¿Cómo se representa la voz femenina (o el género femenino) en los países hispanos?" Dirigimos esta pregunta usando el ejemplo de la mujer en las telenovelas, específicamente. En nuestro proyecto, contestamos esta pregunta en la entrevista con la actriz invitada. Pudimos ver dos distintas perspectivas en el asunto porque entrevistamos, no solo a la actriz, pero también a una “mujer común”, caminando por la calle. En el guión, escribimos, lo que pensábamos que eran, los puntos de vistas de las dos mujeres, y pudimos contestar con la mentalidad de las dos clases de mujer. Con nuestro programa, pudimos enseñar que muchas veces, la representación de la mujer en las telenovelas no es real. Hicimos el punto que la mujer del diario vivir es muy fuerte e independiente mientras la mujer en las telenovelas es muy débil y dependiente de los hombres. También pudimos enseñar que la diferencia en autoridad de varón y hembra en las telenovelas son falsas porque las mujeres son capaces de hacer todo lo que los varones pueden hacer. Hablamos desde un punto de vista feminista. Pienso que en el proceso de crear nuestro programa, aprendimos que debemos de poner atención a lo que miramos por la televisión porque muchas veces los roles de varón y mujer que vemos ahí están muy lejos de la realidad. Debemos ponerle más atención a la realidad de los dos géneros, y el poder de tras de ambos, en ves de dejarnos dominar por los guiones estereotípicos de las telenovelas y los programas de la televisión.

Pienso que hicimos muy  bien en este proyecto. Todo el mundo contribuyó con la creación del guión y todos participamos en la grabación del programa. Pienso que trabajamos muy diligentemente como un grupo. También pienso que contribuí mi liderazgo al grupo porque fui la que hice el horario del proceso y quién organicé la mayoría del proyecto. También trabajé muy duro editando las grabaciones en imovie y añadiéndoles transiciones y música para hacerlo lucir más profesional. También salí en la película varias veces. Pienso que yo trabajé muy duro, igual que mis compañeros de grupo.

Me hubiera gustado tener un horario normal durante el proceso de grabación, porque tenía que coger el examen PSSA durante ese tiempo. Por esto, se le hizo difícil a mi grupo grabar todos a la vez; tuvimos diferentes horarios por los exámenes.

Espero que, con nuestro producto final, los miembros de nuestra clase de español aprendan que las representaciones de la mujer en las telenovelas son drásticamente diferentes a la mujer común. Espero que aprendan la importancia de analizar la diferencia entre la vida real y la televisión, como nosotros los hemos hecho.

I do not know what to write about. Yet again I'm exhausted and have no idea why. I've been sleeping fine but still am so tired. perhaps it's because I have no rest days. I deserve one. I'm giving myself one tomorrow. I need to start my benchmarks. So far I'm nowhere. I can't find any motivation or will power to do work. Senioritis has hit me hard.

Q3 benchmark reflection

Nosotros hemos un telenovela que tener los papel de hombres y mujeres encendido con los personas que actuó los papeles. Nosotros pensamos que un telenovela es el forma mas fácil por mostrar como los mujeres están muestran en telenovelas. Este proyecto fue difícil múltiples razones. Encontrar tiempo para filmar fue difícil, y mi grupo no memorizado todo del guión, por lo necesitamos mucho tiempo por parada y practicamos los lineas. También, edición el proyecto necesita mucho tiempo porque hay mucho tomas inútiles. Hay problemas pequeños que nada persona vio durante filmando, pero cuando yo necesito editar los problemas pequeños se muy grande. Después de todo esto, el audio desincronización, y no podía fijar este. Si yo hiciera este proyecto otra vez, no voy a edición el video.

Quarter 3 Benchmark Reflection

I chose to create an interview. I chose a few characters and people we'd come across in our unit on feminism. I then chose various questions to ask to each of the interviewees. The essential question had to do with "voces femininas" and how women are portrayed in Hispanic societies, so I showed the voices, as I imagined them, of actual feminists and also a various characters.
By doing this project, I learned a lot about the two feminists I used for the project. I had to read about them and read a bit of their work in order to get a good idea of their voices. I also had to think a lot about the two characters I used. One was a girl from a telenovela and the other was from "Mujeres al Borde de un Ataque de Nervios". In order to write about those two characters, I had to think about how the movie and the telenovela portrayed women.
I feel that I did well in my project. I'm proud of how I made each character sound different. I also think that my project was both informative and funny, and I'm proud of that. If I could do the whole thing again, I would probably add in a bit of conversation about the Spanish language itself.

So I know this is like late but here it goes

On saturday. My sister, mom, and nieces all went to King of Prussia mall. I needed to get somethings for my prom and my eldest niece's graduation. At first I thought it was gonna be boring, but at the day went on, things went good. We went into everyone of our stores and looked around, we got some things, tried on stuff and even went into this scanner that told you what type of jeans look best on you. Everything was great and we were even singing songs on the ride back. I really liked saturday, because it was one of those times where we all were connected and having fun since...well, you know.

Wow. I haven't been able to post in so long. I have been home and in and out of the doctors office. Apparently I have an exceptionally weak immune system. My brother has a bacteria in his stomach and I think he got me sick with whatever it was. I r now. I feel better now but these next few weeks will be so overwhelming with making up work and benchmarks and my new job. I can't wait until the worst is over and I can just sit back and relax. I need to get myself together. Thank God Mr. Chase is letting me post!

This morning coming in school was the worse. It smelled like really bad fish all on the 2nd floor and no one knew where it was coming from. Some people said it smelled like the female monthly cycle and others said that it smelled like buttocks. I didn't understand how that could be possible because to me, it smelled like someone took some old seafood out their locker and put it in the trashcan. If you put in that way, it make you think, how does the locker smell? Did they have clothes inside it? Interesting Morning it was
