White Chicks.....of Ryan Coogler

Posted by Nathan Little in Reel Reading · Giknis · B Band on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:37 pm
Analysis

Nicholas Shaw and I chose the film White Chicks because it shows the millennials of race, and how that specific race encounters beauty, wealth, power, and authority. Something that other races don't particularly have. Specifically minorities. The main point in the movie is to show the viewers what it would be like if one of those minorities would somehow transition to that one specific powerful race. From that point of view, the movie shows dominance and a sense of humor, What it does not show are deep thought and a hard process. The movie is meant to bring joy and laughter, a situation that could go in any form but only leads to laughter. When we look at this movie through style, we look at beauty, feminine, sass, fear, and confidence. Looking at the director, we would transition by not looking at the opposite of beauty, but looking at the opposite of race. Significantly looking at the standards of what white people like versus the standards of blacks. It brings a huge difference whether if youŕe defining actual race and what we wear and like. There's not much of a similarity. The choices we made were made differently and we find them to be pretty accurate for the difference between white culture and black culture. One of the examples was the 2 protagonists Marcus and Kevin, instead of wearing suits, they’re wearing dashikis. The people that help them transform into white chicks, instead of wearing white lab coats, they can wear black lab coats/garments. We rearranged most of the design in clothing and texture, but not rearranged much of their knowledge and what they say. When you see the storyboard, you see the texture and what defines the movie based off the director’s perspective. Not only does this storyboard shows the race differential and each cultures design, but it also shows how well the scene correlates between races and how something that’s different can bring people together. The scene also only includes a short script in the beginning and from there, is just the background music and the texture and style. The song we chose (for a change) is Ride wit me By Nelly. The song talks about the difference in what wealth and power can bring to people. It can bring them joy and happiness apparently and it makes them feel good. In the film scene we selected, the characters can basically change from a dilemma of one race to another, feeling the difference in the standards of each race and the expectations they’re supposed to have. The original song in the scene was “Shake it (Like a White Girl) By Jesse Jaymes. The title is easy to predict that it correlates with white people in the film adding on that Marcus and Kevin are transforming from black dudes into white chicks. We thought that choosing a song that has the opposite meaning was the way to go. One that doesn’t necessarily have to talk about black people, but in what black people like to do (for who they are) based on what society judges by it.

This year, I worked with my classmate Eli Block to create an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. We had this idea since the end of junior year and we developed it at the start of our senior year. One of the first things we seeked to start our tournament was help from sponsors. Ultimate Coaches helped where they're familiar with the game and how we can design it. Those who know how to run a successful tournament and what we needed to make it the best was our goal. With the help of our coach/principal Chris Lehmann, we sought other help outside of the SLA Community that we know from the game of ultimate which ended up being a great amount of help. One of the people who’s experienced in Ultimate is Joel Purshan where we met up at a Saxby’s discussing how we would measure the fields, having the cones set up and the how much we would charge each team for attending our tourney. We got with another familiar person Jereme Mason where we talked on the phone discussing the date and the schedule of our tournament (not interfering with the SLA Boys Ultimate Spring Season) we discussed the pool play, bracket play, and the seedings. Adding on was the snacks, porta-potties, and getting a trainer. What we learned from doing this was gaining experience from having the idea of something big, to knowing how to create one successful tournament. The tournament “Reach for the Sky” was successful because we sought out help and we persuaded coaches to have their teams come out and have a fun time facing each other and playing at a competitive level of Ultimate

Feminist Film Review

Feminism Film Review
By: Nate Little

Introduction

The tests for films are called the Bechdel Test and the Mako Mori Test. The Bechdel Test specifies towards a film where 2 female characters talk but NOT about a different character. Specifically a male character. However, the Mako Mori Test specifies towards a film where at least one female character is in a movie and has a main role in the film. The character has her own perspective and CANNOT specify towards another character. Specifically a male character. These tests exist because we have many movies today where there’s either a male’s perspective film or a female’s perspective film but the female include a different gender in her film. One cannot aside from the other because one gender (the male) is most likely in every film. Many movies are also sexist, masculine, or feminine.

Southpaw & Deadpool Film Essay

Southpaw was a very uproaring, selfless, battle of an experienced fighter who battles his struggles and fights to keep his legacy living. Fighting to be remembered as one of the greatest boxers of all time. Billy Hope or “Billy The Great Hope.” as there were good reviews and comment rendering through in the movie, it leaves off as a good film but stirs up certain situations that many critics would question. One of those questions would lead to about his legacy, or if this was based on a true story. But regarding this towards feminism, that situation actually plays a big role. One role that many reviewers and critics would not even think of. At the beginning of the movie, the boxer wins a fight to win his “one of so many” championships. Of course, his trainers and his posse helped Billy win this championship, a certain someone was able to really helped him render through to obtain that title. His wife. Maureen Hope. She was the big reason for that championship. She was the prime core of Billy being the focus and winning that championship and giving Billy Hope the motivation he needed to win.

Image result for south paw gif

Obtaining the championship was his goal, other problems persisted when another talented boxer Miguel Escobar entered Billy’s premises where he despised Billy (how every boxer supposed to be.) They want to win. Miguel got into Billy’s head. His masculinity raged when Miguel triggers Billy in which a devastating that made him lose his wife that night. Shots were fired and one of the bullets hit his wife Maureen. Beforehand, Maureen feminine side was trying to retain Billy. As she told him “it’s not worth it baby.” “Keep walking baby.” But as Miguel Escobar kept exchanging negative words to Billy. The film basically describes the masculinity in a man’s life and how it can change rapidly. This movie relates to the Bechdel Test where the protagonist is messing up and certain women (who played in the movie) was having the same effect in the situation. The movie does not meet the Mako Mori Test.

Deadpool was, however, a fighting/action/love movie. I wouldn’t call it a happy loving movie. It’s pretty messed up. The movie consists of a guy who helps people for a cost. Whether if it’s hiring to take out people that other people want to get rid of/dead or whether if its a warning, he would help them for a price. Wade Wilson was his name. Even though Wade was living in a win-win situation and met this beautiful young lady Vanessa. An unexpected symptom came up as he found out that he had cancer. He didn’t know what to do as he freaked out and knew that the cancer was getting worse. He met this fellow at the bar to try and prevent cancer. But the outcome wasn’t on his specific terms.

Image result for deadpool laying down gif

The enemy in the movie turned out to be Francis and they took him under his will. They froze his body, ran some tests, and made him into a superhuman. He couldn’t feel pain and he couldn’t die as he escaped but the enemy slipped through Wade’s hands. He couldn’t return to his love for he was different. He disappeared on the hunt for his enemy Francis. Beforehand, femininity played a role in this when his girlfriend cared for Wade’s well being, no matter how much Wade tried to hide his feelings from Vanessa, she just knew. Masculinity really played after the incident to the end of the movie by fixing his problems alone and not with others and not thinking he is good enough for the change he couldn't show to Vanessa. She wound up finding out when Francis had her and he took his mask off to hide the identity he was now. She, however, accepted for who he was. This film relates more to the Mako Mori Test because it included one female character, she had her own narrative when Wade supposedly died, she moved on to working at a strip club and living alone in an apartment. And lastly, she didn’t just support Wade, but she supported herself and made standards for her well being.

If I had to create a test for a movie. My test would feature at least one male and female character who either have their own problems in the movie OR have problems on their own that they figure out together. Not one problem they both have to figure out. It can’t just support a man’s story or a woman’s story, they have to support both of their stories. I think it’s important to see this kind of criteria in a movie because people need to see that one gender is all powerful (especially males). People need to see that each gender is powerful in their own way and that figuring out their problems together can make a huge bondage for a man and a woman. Whether if they’re friends, boyfriend, and girlfriend, or husband and wife. One movie that meets my criteria is 50 shades of grey because they each never knew each other but getting to know each other (through sex) gave them a bondage but beforehand, they both had separate problems that soon brought them together to figure out.

Advanced Essay #4 Nathan Little

Paragraph Introduction

So this is my essay about Sexual Harassment and I wrote an essay on this because I feel like there is so much going on in our society but people are forgetting that Sexual Harassment is really important to prevent as much as possible. My goals I feel like i've done is check my spelling and grammar and my wording is better. The feedback I got from my peers really helped me a lot so that's good.

Essay

There is no motivation, no confidence, or even conviction when people hear or witness the words “Sexual Harassment”. It happens on a daily basis and mostly women are the victims. A social problem, that takes place in either schools, in the workplace, outside when you're walking, or even on the internet.  It is defined as sex discrimination where a person is uncomfortable with improper remarks and unwanted sexual looks. Sexual Harassment first starts by the mental thought or looking at someone you are fond of, it then can either lead to visual things as in checking someone out. Then it carries over by doing a physical thing where the victim can be sexually touched or raped.

With all of the meanings of the term Sexual Harassment, people continue to do it. It’s no doubt that our society is rapidly changing as we speak. We have people where they start to become harassers. Although, the changes in our society is not bad nor is it good, but we continue to do the good and the bad. The point i’m trying to make is that sexual harassment is swiftly changing from bad to worse. That’s something we need to prevent. The worst part about it is that no one is taking accountable for it anymore. For instance, you can have a white man sexual touching any type of woman, and no one cares, versus a black man touches a white woman and the media is in a frenzy. We must do something about it. It’s either you act and make a change, or just watch and don’t do anything. Our society has changed so much that we can just witness it right in front of us and just let it happen without doing anything about it. Were at that point where we don’t even say anything anymore. To not go up and say “Hey, leave her alone!”. You would be making a change to the world if you act. It’s a higher chance if one or many people would witness what you did, and will tell your story. And the more people talk about it, the less the situation would happen.

I believe it doesn’t have to be women speaking out for women, I think that anyone can speak out to sexual harassment. If we were put on this earth for a reason, we should be able to live together as human beings which means living as one. To me, sexual harassment is where I draw the line. Being a woman and getting harassed by a lot of guys in the workplace is something I don’t want. “Survival is our hope, and our awareness is our success.” -Patricia Cornwell. When I walk down the street in my neighborhood or when I walk to go to the barber shop or the corner store, I see harassment all the time and no one seems to do anything about it. Men have the power to prevent something that’s not right, but we choose to either do the same, or not do anything about it. It’s no excuse to also not prevent it anywhere else. There are worse neighborhoods than University City of course, but overall we can make a change in Philadelphia.

Sexual harassment can happen anywhere. Just because a majority of white people and some blacks live together in the community, doesn’t mean that it’s always a safe place to live in. As I was walking to the barber shop on 51st and Baltimore, there was this woman who was walking and she was quite attractive, so attractive she caught a lot of guy’s attention. They yelled out “YERRPP!!” which is a call that we used when African Americans likes a woman. Men mostly think out loud when they see an attractive woman which is definitely harassment. So overall, women have to deal with people (mostly guys) being called out, or a guy walking up on a lady that she doesn’t want to talk to, and guys who is checking out a woman who is walking by.

To my conclusion, sexual harassment needs to be prevented for many reasons necessary. 1. It prevents people from doing what they are suppose to do. That means no income for the business that women or men are working for, and no income for themselves. But that’s not even the worst part. 2. People who are being harassed at the workplace can call it worse than sexual harassment it can be sexual assault also. They can also set up a lawsuit against the business because of the harassers at the workplace. Which means no income for anybody who works there or just the harasser (but that’s very unlikely to happen).. My 3rd reason is that since sexual harassment can occur more if the harasser is in a position who has more power than you in the workplace. They are more capable of getting away with it too which increases the people who are getting harassed and not doing anything about it.  Overall, it’s much worse. So if you see something happening that’s not right. Please do something about it. You have the opportunity to make a change for your peers. It’s either you do or you don’t. Simple as that.

My goal for my project is to talk with my mom through the podcast. I know some things about my mom but I wanted to ask some questions I don't know about her and that made a big impact throughout the podcast. What I have experienced working on this project is the way my mom's transformation happened through 52 years of her life and so on. It was amazing hearing the people that influenced her and the who was a role model in her life. Her development is something I rarely knew either and that was very cool to learn that. So this project has made a big impact on me. What went well is the sound quality and the flow of the whole interview and merging it into a podcast made it seem perfect. The struggle is when sound trap said I was "out of memory" so it deleted 25 min through the interview and it was really annoying because it was useful time I can use in the podcast.

Is Racial Identity that important?

Posted by Nathan Little in English 3 · Block/Franz/Taylor-Baranik · E Band on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:19 am
Introduction

As we are living into today’s society, we witness the poverty, and the discrimination that surrounds us. We sometimes question ourselves, what can we do to make it better? There are going to be some people who probably don't want to make our civilization better than it already is. Other people probably just don’t care. But other than that, there’s you, who would want to make a change. You, who would want to develop a bright idea that emphasizes your thinking. You, who would want to make that change not just for yourself, but for the other people who would love to  have the power to do so. You can make that change, because anyone can. If you just put your mind to it.

However, racial identity consist of every citizen, especially people who are known to be popular. “Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you”. -George R.R. Martin. Celebrities are people whom everyone knows. People see celebrities as role models and icons. And they set that example to the people who are in need of help and are lost in life. However, celebrities need to enact and explain on there social lives for the people who wants to know more about them or if there curious to know about there life whether they need to a project or an assignment for school etc. Therefore, civilians won’t question or assume that they are a race that not right or any other opinion that’s not true. They have to reflect on there ancestry because there racial progress is there racial mixing to there children and family. The only problem is there appearance. Illuminating the thought on other people is the problem we are having today. And it’s something that need be fixed.

Not only that racial identity needs to be change, but intersectionality cannot wait either. Since our identities are so important, we also need to interpret it through everyone’s point of view in a way where we can accept each other for who we are. Looking back into the past, many people assume that racial identity isn’t that important. But it is if you think about it. But now that we are in the present, it’s more critical and more of a conflict. People today are moving into different countries coming in as an illegal immigrant, then sooner or later you're no longer illegal because of your identity. But coming into a new country trying to adapt having to deal with other citizens who look at you and identifies you incorrectly is not easy. Even though it’s misinterpretation, it shouldn’t necessarily be a huge problem, especially if you're trying to apply for a job or applying for something to support your family is a big deal. That’s when you would matter. Many people would wish that they can be supportive to whoever is in there life. Because in order to make that change, we need to be able to define ourselves. We need to able to say “I matter, because I am just like the rest of you”. It needs to mean something, not only to your peers, and not only to your family, but to yourself.

Furthermore, racial identity is so important nowadays because you’re not defending your rights and your race, but for the people who are in your shoes that’s living the conflict and wants to change that to a resolution. People who wants the same thing as you can make a huge difference in their lives, because not only your fighting for there equal right but conversing for who they want to be. It’s people like them that can make the world for the better.. However, racial identity fits with multiple conflicts essentially to discrimination, racism, etc. The situation can either sit on the positive and/or negative side depending on what you are seeking and how. If there is a concept where a woman who comes to the United States met someone who would soon become her friend and they asked “are you indian?” But you're actually Native American, that type of racial identity is not bad because it was misinterpreted in a confusing way. But if there’s another situation where you're applying for a job and get interviewed for the job, they automatically assume that you are indian instead of asking what race you are. That’s where racial identity comes in a negative way. That type of concept needs to be prevented.

To my conclusion, it is said that racial identity is a source of belongings, a source of pride, and a base of discrimination. It has been for awhile now, since it’s taking apart of our race and culture in society today. We know that a person who would value their own potential would want to conserve it. No matter if the person is famous, average, poor, etc. Because we are all equal and created equal. Just think, if animals of the world can exist for there own reason, what makes us think that they were made just for us? They could be there for the same purpose we are here. Our identity can relate to the weak, or to the power. To society, it depends on where you're living, and how you’re living. It’s a way for intersectionality to take apart of since it shares its form of debate and controversy. To the people in the world.

Advanced Essay #2 // Growing Up

Posted by Nathan Little in English 3 · Block/Franz/Taylor-Baranik · E Band on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 1:56 pm

Writing this essay wasn't easy because it was a bunch of ideas stuck in my head. Although, I was able to come up with the ideas and put them all together. This essay fits my development as a writer because it connects with who I am as well as having another side of the story having the same significance things as mine. My goals in this essay was to speak who I am, what I want to become, and how I became who I am, connecting with things that's outside of my own concept. I am proud of how I used significant words in my writing and how I can continue as a writer is keep reading and keep writing!

May 1st, 2000 8:31pm I was born. I don’t remember but I looked at my mother, father and sister. Crying was a sign to my family that I was alive and hungry, it was at that moment that I was added to the little family and my name was Nathaniel. To me, Sherman Alexie’s notations helps connects within literature and its deputy. It also connects with the views in my life: “I first understood, with a sudden clarity, the purpose of a paragraph. I didn’t have the vocabulary to say “paragraph”.  This scene of memory is a point of view that changed my life forever. A bit complex, but a complete transformation. Remembering as if I was able to take my first steps. First taught my theoretical ideal of my religion, Christianity. It didn’t start off simple, very confused and concerned. But on the contrary, I’d worship it’s tenacity and beliefs as well it’s commandments. As the years go by, my intelligence increased, able to get a good sense of it’s diversity. What’s right and wrong, what to agree and disagree with, even even the repulsion and the temptation. But most importantly, to believe in my own potentials through the power of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Nonetheless, learning multiple concepts of religions had me thinking, “What if my religion isn’t right? It may be false.”

My mother knows my trouble, telling her what was on my mind. The world was corrupting my mind, like grabbing a butterfly and picking it’s delicate wings. She told me to believe in what she taught, I asked her, how do I know if this religion is true? She told me “you don’t” you just have to have faith and believe. With the amount of questions that was going through my mind, I knew there was no use asking them. My mom somehow had an answer, she knew the very next thing I was going to say. So the trust in her was within me, from my first steps, to my first words. Trying to develop the words inside my mind but it’s not coming out right. “but I realized that a paragraph was a fence that held words. The words inside a paragraph worked together for a common purpose.” She watched me grow up for 8 years. I relied on her very much. Of course, it was still tough for me, the work was stressing me a little bit, and the bullying wasn’t any help. You can say I was like a mime, my actions always spoke louder than my words. When the good things happen, the bad always seems to be on top every time. Told myself, nothing else to turn to but the Bible.

Sin. It’s one of the most brutal things that’s in this world. I also knew that sin started with Adam & Eve, the first 2 human beings that were put on earth created by God, and he told them they can go eat any tree, except for an specific one. The Snake had tempted Eve and she had gave the fruit to Adam. They were both naked, and God came, that moment is the reason where there is sin in the world, why there is temptation, lies, deceiving, hate, violence. All the negativity in the world exists because of it. Although, realizing the potentials in myself is indescribable. An African American kid who has christianity as its protection is nothing more than love and power. Realizing I am blessed. Even though I believe that God has my side, the sin will never stop in this world. It will develop inside of me, try to find ways to make me turn to who I am not, and reading the phenomena of Alexie’s piece shows me the difference between virtue and sin. “I refused to fail because I was smart. I was arrogant. I was lucky.” Finally realizing that this is who I would be and this is something I will soon have to accept.

What is Literacy? Literacy is the ability to read and write. But not just that, literacy develops the way you describe what your saying, even though our actions speak louder than our words, readers can’t see our actions, but they can always read our actions. Literacy matters most in my life because it shows dedication and an deep depth of knowledge. “The differences in reading ability between five-year olds and eight-year olds are caused primarily by the older children's possessing more knowledge, not by the differences in their memory capacities, reasoning abilities, or control of eye movements.” Ed Hirsch Jr.  There are many forms of literacy. There is knowledge, proficiency, cultivation, and education. But each one comes in different structures, from the tip of our hair to the bottom of our feet we are all created differently, but equally. No one is better than the other, we are all the same being. Whether we have different opinions, all of them matter, because one will be right. It’s not always by what we believe in either, but by what we choose to believe in. Because we all come in different shapes and sizes, and we all come in different race and ethnicity, you could even say we come with different emotions.

Overall, we are all one. Although, cultural literacy is incompatible today in society as there are racism still existing along with discrimination, harassment, prejudice, employment laws. Many of these that are killing our economy and our country. There is no stopping these causes but as one, we can try to prevent as much as we can. What’s that saying? “I’d rather attempt to do something great and fail, than to attempt to do nothing and succeed. Well to my conclusion, we are all created equal, created in our own images, and we have the ability to believe in what we want to believe in. We are good, but were not perfect, we all do sin, but we are also not imperfect. We are just small beings hoping to succeed in a world that criticizes our passions and tenacities. This is my story.

My goal in life is to be myself and help others, and in my piece I explained that and other things I’d love to do. I am pretty proud of how I described my piece of how I really feel.. Areas for improvement can probably be my grammar.

Advanced Essay

Waking up to an bright light almost makes you feel like you’re in a better place. I can sense the heat on my sensitive skin, keeping me warm and comfortable. I told myself I heard the sound of sweet soul of music downstairs. It was within me today, I said as I was shuffling out of bed. The sheets were attached to me like a magnet. It was yet another Monday Morning about 7:21 am. I was only 6 years old when I started learning about my superiority. I took myself downstairs for a bite to eat as I made me some cereal. My step-mom made me eggs and a bagel. I took it to the living room and turned on the tv to watch some PBS. Sesame Street was on, but sadly went to commercial. An advertisement came on. It was at that moment my eyes started dwelling and my stomach was growling. I glared at the television listening to a man who had a voice of an activist. He stated, “You can accomplish anything, anytime, if you just put your mind to it.” I had to hear more to what this man had to say. He kept going on about accomplishments and achievements. At the time I didn’t know any of those big words he was saying, so I wrote them down on a post it note and gave them to my Dad. He defined them for me and it was all making sense. Leadership, control, management, desires were swarming on me. I told myself I wanted to go find these accomplishments because I knew I would need it. The rest of my life that is ahead of me. Not just that, but at that time, things weren’t going so well for me. You could say there was some family problems, or you can say there’s sadness that surrounds me and my broken heart. This happens at times, but it drifts away from me also, and returns when my emotions change. I was able to get out of the house and walk around for a bit with my mom. We went to the park, I got on the swings, went down the slide. It really helped me forget about the things I used to know. Just a simple commitment with Love and positivity can do that to a kid like me. I thought I could do that to someone too. To make them feel better about themselves, and put a smile on there face to let you know “Hey, I’m alright” I also thought, If life was simple like this that I can take a deep breath and start over, then this is something I can get use to. And so I did. And it was really helping a lot. Each day, I explore more and more and stopped worrying about the negativity that tries to surround me with sorrow and guilt. Because, I was already surrounded by the power of positivity. Everything I had was already on my side. My parents, friends, family. Because even though we always have our bad times, in the long run, we all love each other in the very end. This is my motto and still is today. As I keep growing and developing, I add more and more things to my notes. Always have a positive attitude, having faith, having hope, and believing in yourself. If I ever see my friends who are down, I’d do my best to pick them up. When I was 9, I told myself I want to make the world a better place, one by one, one step at a time. Helping people, help feed the homeless. Talk to my peers and to make them happy. Of course, I was gonna have my off days, of how much I wanted to keep it to myself. I couldn’t, people who were really close to me notice my troubles and they were there to help me. Raised in a church taught me how to be a better person. It did change me a lot, developing into a better me than before. This is where I started my roots. These were reasons why I was becoming a great kid. 7 years old and growing. When I accepted Christ into my life and began reading the bible when I was 8. The next year, I was understanding the passages, one of my favorites were Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. One of the best quotes in my notes, is to accept defeat. Of course when I was initiating to becoming a great kid, I realized that we are all not perfect, we will sin, we will do wrong And when that comes, I’ll be ready for it. My life isn’t over, it is just beginning. And I realize there is going to be times where I will do good and I will do bad. Sometimes, I won’t be able to realize the good and the bad. Or what I’ve done at times. But I am prepared for it. The only thing I’m not prepared for is what’s going to come later. I don’t know how and I certainly don’t know when. I could die the next day. But doesn’t mean every second I have to breathe it. Just to be alive is a reminder to be happy and to tell my story one day..

Nate's ILP

Posted by Nathan Little in Ilp - 10Th Grade - Ames - Wed on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 8:48 pm

Nate’s Ilp

I personally think My ILP is going really great. I spend time with my mom learning about her job as an Massagist/Chiropractor, and learn different methods and massages. I always had an interest on my mom’s job because I get to say hello to her clients and it allows her clients to come back into her work of business which increases her income. Usually on some Wednesday when my mom is working, I go around Philadelphia and hand out her business cards and tell her about what she does, having a few clients giving her a call because of me, she was able to grab their interest of getting massages. My best experience for me was probably watching different kind of videos for massaging, there are all types of massages for people who needs a specific and that’s something my mom masters in. The purpose for me to experience that so when some one ever have problems, I would know which type of massage they actually need and they can go to one, It’s part of who I am for helping others.

I do not have an Ilp but I have some interesting Ideas, I have been thinking about working for my Mom and learning about what she does for a living such as learning different techniques about massages and being a chiropractor. I also want to learn more about healthy eating from my mom and how to get people to get on the right track to healthy eating.

  • When are you meeting with Jeremy?
  • I have met with Jeremy last week and left a gmail when a group of kids were there in the Sla Cafe
  • What have you been doing to set one up?
  • I have been negotiating with my mom about what things we can discuss about while I learn by simple examples
  • What got in the way (be careful how you word this) of having one on time?
  • I've been very confused on who to tell before the beginning of the year. During the summer.
  • Add what you think is important.
  • I think it's important for all of us to have an Ilp so every Wedesday all of us can learn new things and experience new things on what to to in real life.

An ending to an agent of change

Posted by Nathan Little on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 8:03 pm

Agent Of Change

  • The purpose for my Agent of Change is that I want to get other people’s perspective about what’s happening today. With people’s thoughts combined, I can be able to do more that would help and understand and focus on the main concept to prevent violence and brutality.

  • I have permission to go around Philadelphia and getting people to understand the concept of what really happening in our society right now, considering the things that has already happened such as the I can’t Breathe Eric Garner case.

  • I have emailed my parents about this and they believe that there can be a chance for me to take advantage of it, to do everything you can to change and prevent as much as I can. I have also emailed my neighbors, friends, classmates, as well as my family members.

  • I am also working on a website so everyone can see  and hear my opinion about Domestic Violence and brutality with different topics upon what we can do, how can we prevent Domestic Violence and get opinions out there on social media so everyone will be able to see.

Hyperlinks: Blog Post 1, Blog Post 2

Things that have been done is sharing my blog out there, being able for people to see what they believe in and what they have to say about it is really important for the matter at hand. I’ve gotten so many feedback from people who inspired me to do more than this, that they acknowledge me to put my opinion out there, to put everything I know so far on a working piece that people can see and reply on. That is the reason why I created a website.

Link: Nate's Website

My opinion in the way these changes is talking about more and being able to do something, go on strike, talk about it to other people, do as much as you can to get the word out there, this isn’t a fight for ourselves, this is a fight to prevent violence to every black lives out there.

I have recently taken several surveys from different websites, as well as wearing a pin on my bookbag that says I can’t breathe on it representing Eric Garner. I have been apart in a donation for blacks lives matter, me and my mom who donated $20 together.

Doing this project was a dream come true for me, I feel like I have gained experienced a lot from this knowing the right path to take for human rights, as well as knowing my rights as a citizen and not abusing them, but knowing how to respect one another, but if we see others who are not respected or giving a good influence on others Don’t think were just going to stand by and watch, were going to do something about it, Doing this project was stressful but overcoming, I did it for a worthy cause and something I can see myself leading an example. A remembrance for the rest of my life. As i said, I learned how to be a better advocate and a lead of confidence towards others. What I learn from others is to do, then to think, because doing will get you somewhere in life more than thinking. What I think I could have done better is the deadline, I’ve noticed that I am really late and a little slacked off at the very end, but I am able to try my best finishing strong at the end. I think there is nothing left to do but to keep on fighting, we still need creative ideas, victory for us citizens isn’t done, what we need to do is Think before we do, we do take action before we think but if we want to surpass this, we must think of a way.

Glows

While doing this project, I was able to do the things I know, can change/prevent and support. Each and every one of can make a change to support the topic I know and love and that’s #BLM. I love how we were able to organize this benchmark, it was amazing that I can do each assignment without hassling through at once, we can take our time and being able to complete it. I also like where we extended the time. One of the others things that were awesome was me working with others that had a similarity with our topics, sharing information we can put on our resources as well was outstanding.

Grows

Things that could’ve been better were the time to do this project, I know that it was time consuming but   I’ve had extra time that I didn’t use towards this and that was a waste of good opportunities. Others were starting the project too late, haven’t recently gotten to it until a week after. It was bad but I was able to counter it, if I would gotten right to it is to go around the neighborhood and get people’s feedback. Instead I’ve used a website for it and it turns out people are more sociable on social media than talking face to face, that is part of the reason I’ve created my own website and so many feedbacks i got were outstanding.

Research

I wish I’ve known that #BLM did a movement downtown Philadelphia on 15th street, Black Lives Matter I would know ahead of time and get into the action, it turns out this happened during our Bm., Hearing #BLM on the news and people talking made me inspired, I would want to know more how movements are like, what goals we show and why? Who are we representing and why there should be a change?

Original Research

I think it went great for me overall, I really have enjoyed this time of a Benchmark one of the best ones i’ve had so far. I would change the time and changing the website to touring around Philly.

Agent of Change

I had the impact i’ve hoped for because all of the feedback I’ve got from sponsors and people, who actually care, it was amazing. I’m really glad we did this Benchmark.

Blog Post 2

Posted by Nathan Little in English 1 - Giknis - X on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:21 pm

Blog Post #1 shared the point of Black Lives Matter, people who stands up for what they believe in. Black Lives Matter stands up for what you believe in, and what I am doing for this Blog Post is exactly what I want to do.

Black Lives Matter, and Trayvon Martin

For me previous work, I’ve found a video that talks about different people who needs to respect the laws, a guy at the time who was 20-30 years old randomly stopped a Police Officer by the Law of Washington State/RCW. The law stated that anyone who has an unmarked vehicle, is hereby banned to drive. The cop had an unregistered unmarked vehicle and he was using it for undercovering. The citizen gave the cop a huge warning to the cop making him to register the vehicle. The citizen stated there is no mark or indication on the car and the Driver/Cop known as Deputy Canfield have been stopping people in the vehicle in an unregistered vehicle. Everyone needs to respect the law, even the people that are under the power as well.

What I pursued and learned more information about is the laws in the states There should be a change in the community we live in, because people are getting disappointed in the way that they’ve been treating and now it leads to chaos more people are following the ways of mankind.

#BLM Survey

This helps me inform the concept I am learning/researching, it gives us a valuable source of what is happening around the world that demonstrates the cause of these things. I believe that everyone who have heard about this topic is furious about this but we all have a same/different theory about this, we agree and disagree on what we are doing and who we are becoming, but if you actually look at the cause and effect of what’s happening from the past to the present, you would see a huge difference then what society had on us then before.

This help me of my understanding by showing the concept of why we do this, we do this because we want what’s best for the future, we don’t want a cruel world where we look up to people by example and teach all of us from right to wrong, we want to teach one another respect and acknowledge the fact that we need to do the best we can to raise our children. So my understanding would be the leaders stepping up not just for kids, but for all of us around the world.

Black Lives Matter

Posted by Nathan Little in English 1 - Giknis - X on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 12:03 pm

Black Lives Matter is an American Movement that feeds on people consisting of the Trayvon Martin, Black Lives Matter is a unique contribution that goes beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and vigilantes. There are many reasons why this organization was made. There are 2.8 million innocent blacks who are in prison today, This in itself is a crime. Black women are being assaulted. Did you know that there are 500,000 blacks in the states who are illegal immigrants? I bet you didn’t know that. These are things that we need to prevent for our society. I am interested in this project because it targets kids my age in today's society and educates them about crimes committed against minorities. Black Lives Matter also encourages us to come up with solutions to make a change and ensure that this violence doesn’t continue."

It is important for Americans to be able to rely and trust authority figures, such as police officers, EMTs, Firefighters, etc. Police brutality is both tragic and real. Take Trayvon Martin and Eric Gardner for example. Both men ended up dead because of then injustice brought upon them by the police"

I’m wondering how to prevent domestic violence, to say No more to being assaulted. It’s time that we take a stand and make an improvement. To mine and possibly others, it’s Cruel and it’s Racist. I’m willing to create a survey about our segregation. would be better.

"Q3 Art Reflection"

Posted by Nathan Little in Art - Freshman - Hull - b2 on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 8:58 am
hey
hey
I feel like I have accomplished my work and the most important parts into my drawing such as the ceiling and the rectangle I drew. I also feel like that I can see my artwork in a different perspective now then before, when I use the vanishing point too. It looks a lot better then before. If I would change this project again then I would change the way the ceiling looks, make it more detailed as well same as the door, and the window. I really like Sam's artwork because it is really detailed on how you look at it from a distance, you can see everything like in reality at his drawing and the windows are really detailed and have the same exact portrait then in the classroom right now. It's successful because of the way it looks it's like so modest and based especially the tables and chairs. The way it looks,

The Creative Song of Macbeth

IMAG0042
This song is mostly about Macbeth and his way of ambition to become king of Scotland and Thane of Cawdor. Although, there are some differences of Macbeth, he knows how King Duncan the King of Scotland is a really great king that is really good king to his people. Even though, Macbeth's uses his ambition to become king by killing King Duncan and getting away with it. Now, Macbeth is king but later, people start to learn that we can't trust Macbeth anymore and a noble man name Macduff comes to Macbeth's kingdom and kills him making justice for all. I've made this song to based what I've said about Macbeth in my piece because it really summarizes who Macbeth really is.

The most important people in my life are the people who has always been on my side, or someone who took care of me and helped me throughout life and society. The most important people in my life are the ones who can prepare me to what Im about to face later in the future, and those people are my parents, cousins, relatives, friends, and teachers.
