Bur. Flowchart Reflection
The task that we chose to do was filling out a Protection from Abuse Order. If someone is being stalked or abused by a previous spouse or relation, a person is allowed to file for a PFA. This process requires a lot of paper work, time and patience. When filling it out, the papers asked a lot of questions and for detail. I would assume the questions and descriptions are so no one can file one under the wrong circumstances.

This project was challenging and really got me to look and find laws that effected my life. It showed me how many laws actually due impact my life and the court cases that influence my rights. It was a lot of work though and I wish I worked on it more timely.

Bureaucracy Reflection: Flow Chart for FAFSA
- My partner and I, Amber chose to create a flow chart that displayed the process of completing the FAFSA. FAFSA means Free Application for Federal Student Aid. With completion of the application, eligible students receive federal aid to pay for college. Amber and I decided to identify the main components of the process first. Then, we went into further research to find the step- by- step procedures, and all of the small details that take effect on the process of filling out a FAFSA. We made a rough draft of the steps and continued to edit it until we both agreed on the information and the format of how the information would be displayed. We made our flowchart on a website where we both could work on it at the same time.
The actual FAFSA application is pretty simple as long as you have the information you need. If you are a student with no job, and no source of income, then your section of completing the application is easy. The parents are the ones who may have to calculate yearly income and things like that, but the application doesn't call for too much. It can be completed in one sitting.
If I could change one thing about the FAFSA process, I'd change how it determines the 'Expected Family Contribution'. The application requires student and parents to input tax information and they use that information to determine how much money a person should be able to afford to pay for his college education. I'd change that because in my situation, the tax returns and the amount of my money that my family can actually afford to pay will be two completely different results.
I don't think that FAFSA is entirely complicated, but anything that deals with receiving money from the government wether it's free money or loaned money will not a very simple process. Any process that involves the government will reflect the government, and the government is not simple.

Final Blog Post For Same Sex Marriage in Pennsylvania
I created a Facebook page for my lobbying topic to gather supporters.
Facebook Page
I wanted to write and present a petition, but then I realized that I didn't know EXACTLY what I would be requesting in the petition. I haven't written a new policy to suggest, so I stalled on trying to figure that out.

Week One: Pencil Sketch (Hand Drawing)
For our first assignment we had to draw a sketch of our hands, using pencil, on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.
Hand Drawing
In art class we were assigned to draw one picture a week, starting on Tuesday and working on them all class period up until Friday. The first picture we were assigned to draw was a pencil sketch of our hand. We had to draw it on an 8x11 piece of paper, trying to use as much of the paper as possible. After we got the design and shape of our hands down, we added shadows and shading to them too. We were to make them as realistic as possible, no cartoon hands. This is the end result of my hand. Week two: Pencil Self portrait
So this is my self portrait, I'm actually quite proud of it even though it's lacking a few main features. Yes, the eyes aren't there...but it was really diffcult for me to draw my eyes and have glasses on at the same time. Every time I would try, it would look weird or they would be uneven. It was a mess. Also I didn't really shade anything or had any highlights to my hair and everything. I save that for last, when I'm completely satisfied with the results...and this picture I don't believe is done to the best of my abilities. I'll keep adding to it, and upload more pictures as I go along.[Click image for bigger more clear picture]
Week Three: Bigger Self Portrait
This is the result of my bigger self portrait. I've come to the conclusion that drawing big isn't my strongest point. This was also supposed to be done with charcoal. The outline of the drawing is, but I didn't shade or do anything to make it "pop" form the page. I get scared that if one mistake and the whole thing is going to be ruined. So I try to make them as simple and basic as possible. I'll eventually add more to the drawing, if I have time. For now that's what it looks like. I'm sort of pleased with it. In a way it resembles me. [Click image for bigger more clear picture]
Week Four: Drawing of someone in class
This is my attempt at a full body drawing. Again, I'm afraid that big isn't really my cup of tea. I feel much more comfortable drawing small. Also, Drawing faces and people is my least favorite thing to draw. Maybe that has a lot to do with why it's so unfinished looking. I try so hard to make them perfect, or as close to real life as I can, that I lose track of time and then I have to rush through it so it's done and I have something to show for my work. I'm also very afraid that I'm going to offend the person somehow, if I draw them bad. Which, is how I feel about this drawing. Kim, in no way shape or form looks like this. I wish I wasn't so judgmental about my work, I think that this could be pretty good, if I gave myself credit and actually stoped worrying about what it looked like. Week Five: Still Life
*Pictures and artist statement coming soon.*
Week Six: Small clear object (cup)

Sorry for the bad quality of the photo. This is the drawing I did of my starbucks cup. This was actually a pretty fun one for me to do. Since I was aloud to pick any clear object, I decided that a Starbucks cup would be nice. The hardest thing about drawing this, was making it look 3D and not 2D, I wanted to create the look that there was something behind the logo of the cup. That it was an actual cup. I believe I did a pretty good job with that. [Click image for bigger more clear picture]

Hand Drawing
This is the hand drawing I spend doing in class for the week. At first I thought it was going to be difficult but it turned out to be fun and sort of easy making the hand. I started with making an square and cylinder for the fingers to start then I traced the hand over and got the following picture that represent my hand drawing.
