ZAYD BUT BLASE!
Though it does not look like the person that I wanted to draw, I tried my best and as long as I tried, I'm satisfied. I do what I can put on stage and this is what I'm proud of. I was actually concentrated on making it look like a human and nothing else. I kept focused in achieving what I set for myself in the beginning. I did not know I can draw a whole entire body figure and I doubted myself in the beginning and had no hope. But I learned how to try new things and go for it because life is full of challenges and I set myself to a challenge and I fell great with the outcome.
To start off, I did not know whom to draw. I think it makes a big deal for me because to be honest, I was not able to draw with the class on a model but rather chose a friend of mine whom was awfully too kind to participate and drew him. With that being said, the pose was a major factor for me. I felt as though I wanted to draw him at a different view rather than a front view. I felt as though, I can accomplish more when drawing a side view but can also put a challenge for myself. So I used a pastel and normally when I draw in general, I would use either a sharpie or a pencil but not pastel. I never really worked with them. I wanted to start of light, just in case I messed up on something. When I was satisfied with my sketch, I darken my lines to have definition. I then used a lighter green color than the color I used and used it as a high-lighter for some edges to be open and noticeable in my drawing.
While working on this assignment, I grew confidence in myself, that I can draw what I please if I put my mind to it. During the whole process of drawing this figure, I learned how to shade and highlight important details and I'm still learning. I like shading and highlighting in pictures to show definition and the right exposure that it needs to have.

Why Do I Write
If only the feeling of true self-recognition could be put into meaning,
Into a splatter of exploding visuals,
Into a serenade beautiful sounds,
Into a parallel reality where I am one with my inner parasite,
Maybe then, I could begin to explain the reason
Why I write.
This parasite within…
And how exactly do I coexist
with this symbiotic parasite?
or is it a parasitic symbiote?
Or is there not a difference?
But…
When I write…
Am I channeling it?
Or is it channeling I?
I do not know…
BUT I STILL WRITE.
When the omnipresent universe decides to falsify my reality,
Where do I turn?
As if hope-ridden tears aren’t enough to satisfy its lust for pain,
Where else can I go?
Because seemingly, placing a barbed barrier stability and I won’t suffice-
What do I do?
I write.
I do not know why…
BUT I STILL WRITE.
Perhaps,
These hands of mine hold the words that refuse to roll off my tongue.
Perhaps,
These hands of mine hold the bittersweet idealisms trapped deep within my heart.
Perhaps…
These hands of mine hold the link to myself and the world-
Lobbying Topic Part 1:
My lobbying topic is based on curfew and the consequences that come along with it if someone doesn’t obey what needs to be done. I want to do this as my lobbying topic because those who believe that curfew doesn’t matter is messing up the fun for those who choose to be out late be can act responsibly. I also don’t believe that is fair that the parents have to pay a fee for the child that is being picked up for curfew. If not fair to those who are actually not flashing mobbing, but just hanging out have a good normal time. Just because every cop or adult wants to believe that every child is not out causing trouble, shouldn’t stop those who have self -control. I know this interest me the most because I’m 18 but all my friends are not, so some of our plans can even be followed through.
The supporters for this lobbying idea I believe should be the positives young adults that simply feel the same way. However they people who would be against this, would be cops and probably other adults who believes that these kids are only out here to start trouble. Then other people that will be against this is the children that are actually apart of the flash mob and feel differently about what should be done. I really believe something should be done because it’s not fair to the children who are being label as someone bad and they are actually being a positive individual.
Lobbying Blog Post 2: Clean Chemicals Act
My representatives in Senate are Bob Casey and Pat Toomey.
Bob Casey, on his website, states that "as a Senator from Pennsylvania, I am committed to protecting the environment, preserving our natural treasures, and safeguarding the health of our families," and states that energy and the environment are among his priorities. He says that he is strongly against fracking, and has cosponsored one bill that would "close big oil tax loopholes". However, based on the list of legislation he has sponsored and cosponsored, his priorities seem to lie much more with veterans and education. He has four daughters, all of whom are around my age, and he plays basketball – so I would definitely be able to start a conversation with him.
Pat Toomey, on the other hand, will certainly not want the bill to be passed. One of his slogans is "More Jobs, Less Government" (see image below). Because of this, he will certainly not want more restrictions on companies that could be producing more and hiring more. He even introduced the Employment Protection Act of 2011, which would make the EPA "consider the impact on employment levels and economic activity" before any regulatory action. The Clean Chemicals Act is certainly in conflict with this bill. I looked for interests he and I might share, and found nothing. I am uncertain how I will be able to argue for this bill against someone who so clearly is opposed to anything of the kind.
If the bill gets through Senate, it will go to the House of Representatives. There, my representative if Chaka Fattah (see district map below). Looking through his legislative record, it is clear that his priority lies with education – from early childhood care to college funding. Howeve, he also sponsored the Clean Energy Act of 2010, which would have supported research into nuclear energy and other forms of renewable power. Based on this, I think he is highly likely to support the Clean Chemicals Act of 2011. Because of his interest in education, especially public education, I would definitely try to start a conversation by talking to him about my school.
For the post part, my representatives and the people on the bill's committee look like they'll support it. However, the opponents of the bill look quite immovable: Toomey, with whom I have very little in common, and the various Senators who are strongly opposed to the bill and do not have any reason to listen to some girl from Pennsylvania.

Scotus Blog Case Judulang v. Holder
The constitutional question that comes into play here is one that it seems like a lot of people in the court and outside of the court are confused about and that is the tenth amendment. The tenth amendment is the amendment that so closely deals with immigration but when I researched more the constitution never discusses immigration it brings in the concept of immigration. Also to clarify the tenth says that this would be a state problem to deal with so I don't entirely know why this case is being challenged on the grounds of the constitution.
The main argument that Judulang had was that before the ruling by the BIA in 2005 in Matter of Blake and Matter of Brieva-Perez, he or any lawful permanent resident could apply for relief for any conviction even one such as voluntary manslaughter. He tried to get the law rationally reviewed under the Equal Protection clause but could not. He also says that when they ruled and change their practices it was contradictory and represents a retroactive change in the law.
The only real arguments that the U.S. made in this case were that section 212© relief is only available when there is a similarity between the reason they are being deported and the reason they are being removed. They also tried to invalidate his case against the board showing a change in law and that it should be reviewed.
I am almost sure that this case will go in favor Judulang because the U.S. has minimal success in convincing the supreme court justices of anything and also the supreme justices seem to ask questions that seem look in favor of Judulang.

Why I Write
Or to reveal the story of another?
I write to show the fantasy
And the writing on the walls
The stories of the bloodstained hands
And the bullets flying through castle walls
I write to show the truth
And see through murky lies
Recalling the horrors of a war
And the bullets that grazed my head.
The collapse of the U.S and the U.S.S.R. alike
The fall of the Berlin Wall to the great Stock Market Crash
And even the plague and famine
That spread across all lands.
I write to show the story
Of the conquered and the desolate
The stories of the many
While I live on through them

Pacific Operators Offshore, LLP v. Valladolid
In the case the Pacific Operations attorney had some key points and highlighting key components of the case. He emphasized the wording of the OCSLA workers compensation act which states that the accident was to happened on the OCS. The rest of the speakers basically try to dump off the compensation to different acts.
My opinion is, this case shouldn't be a case. OCSLA is pretty clear and simple. However the way that all the Justice are handling it, it makes it seem like Pacific Operations will lose. They seem to be over-sensitive and they just shoot down what the speakers say by bringing up irrelevant points.

Half-Past Learning In Spanish!
Telling time is an important part of life, if you
go to Peru, or any other Spanish speaking country and say “What time is it”
they will look at you like you have 3 heads. You need to say;
·
¿Qué hora es? à ((Ke - Orra – ssss))
this means What time is it.
·
The appropriate response would be Son Las à It is followed my
the time.
Son las dos Son las tres Son las cuatro Son las cinco Son las sies Son las siete Son las ocho Son las nueve Son las diez Son las once |
It is 2 o’clock It it 3 o’clock It is 4 o’clock It is 5 o’clock It is 6 o’clock It is 7 o’clock It is 8 o’clock It is 9 o’clock It is 10 o’clock It is 11 o’clock |
When it is 12 o’clock we don’t say Son las doce,
even thought that IS an option. A lot of Spanish speaking people just use
medianoché or medîodia. Medianoché for 12AM and medîodia for 12AM.
Media Cuarto menos |
Half an hour A quarter minus |
When you see any of the previous ^^^ in a time
telling sentence like the following:
Son las media ocho. It means à It is 8 thirty
Son las nueve menos cuarto à It is minus 15 of
nine. Meaning is 8:45.
If you see cuarto in a time telling sentence
WITHOUT menos in front of it that just means its 15 minutes after ___Blank___
Ex: Son las cuatro y cuarto à It is 4:15
NOTE: how 4 is CUATRO and a quarter is CUARTO ..do not confuse to two!
CompuCredit Corp. v. Greenwood - Shelby Harcher
The main issue in this case is that, under the CROA, consumers are allowed to sue, but forced arbitration was usually used. The National Senior Citizens Law Center and AARP claim that CROA is protecting it's costumers and that they know that they can sue and take the steps necessary to do so and that the document itself prevents companies from being able to force arbitration. However, others feel differently. Credit repair scams happen all the time. High fees are usually charged and arbitration is usually used. I'm not sure what's going to happen with this case, but I believe that companies are going to be looked after more, making sure that they follow the CROA and don't force arbitration. Under the Constitution, it states that all people have the right to a jury of their peers, and being forced to have an arbitrary, doesn't seem fair at all. I believe that the Supreme Court will rule in the favor of the consumers.
