Silverman Q2 Media Fluency Reflection
I added the picture of the axolotl to create interest, which is furthered by mirroring the pink of 'LOVE'. Also, the size of the picture grabs attention very easily. The background changed from indigo to black so the salmon colored axolotl wouldn't look gaudy; the change also accentuated the text.
The picture and cream-colored SCONES are reflected so as to create the illusion of depth, like the axolotl is touching the word. The dark, spaced out SCONES creates more repetition since it functions like the cream SCONES' shadow. It also takes up space and, because of the muted color, doesn't clutter the canvas.
The overlapping O's in AXOLOTLS and LOVE have the dual color to mimic an axolotl's eye, plus it keeps the teal and the pink balanced a little better.

In my previous slide, the font and the size of my words “Life
is like water” doesn’t fit in to my slide because the color scheme (red) makes the words were blur and unclear. So, in my revised version I use lighter colors so that will make a contrast
with the background color and use another front to fit the tone of the slide. The audience's eyes will move in
correspondence to the wave’s motional effect, which guides the audience's eyes around the slide. I also make the musical speaker bigger to show its importance in the slide and make this image "pop" in front of the audience's eyes and change the color of the words that correspond to the musical speaker.
All about me slide
I used this special zen presentation to help me make this slide. It gave me a working period to figure out how I want it to look. I choose bright red to allow the viewer to be caught in a ray of light. I then made the background black to allow it to pop as well. I gave the back ground hearts and money because that's all about me. I then put my name in a mega font in which gave it a dramatic font that gave it the sense that its all about me. To finish the presentation it was a good experience that helped me with more slides.

The bureaucratic task that was chosen was Unemployment Compensation Benefits. Many people get laid off from their jobs and are unemployed in society as of today. The flow chart that was made is the process of the application in order to receive such benefits. The application consists of six pages. In the instructions you are ordered to mail/fax the application to your designated office. Within the application, you are asked basic questions such as your social security number, address, phone number and etc. Also you are asked what employer you have worked for and if you have ever worked in another state and if you want to file for benefits for another state. Then there are questions such as if you have worked in the military in the past two years, or if you have worked for the federal government. Whatever pages that are blank are unnecessary for sending. The flow chart is more of a visual application. What was explained above is the paper version of the application though. The paper work was not at all hard, it was actually pretty easy if you follow the instructions. If I could change one thing about the about the bureaucratic process that was flow charted I would change the fact that you need to fill out a certain set of questions if your social security number ends with certain numbers. I think that was pointless without explanation of reasoning why on the actual application. I think that the systems have become so complicated because without complications people would more so get a greater chance of getting away with things.

Stephen's Better slide
On my presentation I made sure I didn't clash the COLORS so I just used the Black and White affect. I made sure the SIZE of my picture was huge by making it my background. I made sure the SIZE of my letters where huge I have a font SIZE of 144. For the SHAPE of my picture I tilted it a little bit to the right. Also I made my picture look like I was looking at the slide. For the PATTERN of my slide I made the text color the same as the color of the wall in the background, also I made the text the same color as my shirt. For the TEXTURE I softened the edges of my picture so in comparison the part of the picture I want you to look at looks more sharp. For the EMPTINESS in my slide I just had my picture and the text and left everything else blank. For the ALIGNMENT I made my text go straight while the picture is tilted slightly so you should see the text first. Watching everyone else's slides getting criticized helped me with my slide. I made my picture and text even bigger. And made my picture black and white and face the middle of the slide.

Bureaucracy FlowChart Reflection
The task I selected is obtaining a passport to leave the country. In terms of the bureaucracy behind it the federal government is in charge of a citizen obtaining their passport. To get a passport (first time) they must submit a DS-11 form and deliver it in person. After that you must present a form of evidence of being a citizen, then you present your I.D and photocopy said I.D. Finally you provide a passport photo and it must be taken over a set of circumstances, wait 5-7 days get the passport and leave the country.
Now this is not as bad as I expected but the paperwork is awful. The paperwork is straightforward but the questions sometime just seem unnecessary and I would hate to fill out as someone who is not born in the U.S.
If I had to change something about it I might include the prices but if you want to leave the country you usually need spending money so they should just dip into that fund. This system is more straightforward than I assumed but I can only assume it as a overreaction to terror attacks and terrorists getting into our country as I have seen with the Patriot Act. But besides that I think it might have been because they wanted to cover all bases so badly that they made it impossible to make it past first.

The task that both Johniera and I did was filling out out the unemployment benefits application, along with the flowchart. It took us a while to find the application because most times when we searched it, we couldn't find it. But luckily someone helped us on getting the application, and we got to work right away. It seemed like it was breeze because some of the pages were not mandatory to fill out, but there were some things that we didn't know & research for to understand.
Other than that, the paperwork wasn't that bad. When it came to the flowchart, at first we didn't understand how detailed our flowchart had to be, so we researched examples. We then looked at the certain things people might not understand if they were to fill out the application, and we also looked at the frequently asked questions about the application to apply to the chart, which helped us made our chart as detailed as possible.
I really do not see that process being changed. I think it was straight forward the way it is. If it were to change, I think it would be complicated or unclear. When I say complicated, I mean if things were added, it would seem like too much. When I say unclear, I mean if something was taken out, a person would become confused on what is needed.
I believe that the only complicated part that a unemployed person would understand is when to fil for the claim, and the process after everything is completed. Johniera and I had to read carefully on what would happened after everything went through: how many benefits will a person get in a year, how much would it be, when to file for it, etc. Other than that, it's not a huge process.
What I did want to know was why did it have a section for those that had social security numbers that ended with "05". That would be something I'd have to research.

Block Party Permits
Robert Broadwater and I together went to figure out the what the process of getting a block party permit would be. The process wasn't that daunting as most things in government, I assume it's this way because of how frequent block parties are in the city. By either getting the paper work yourself or downloading, we filled out some pretty basic and impersonal information which focused on the street and community the block party will be held. This paperwork was pretty much simple. I don't think there's anything I'd change about the process because it seems extremely easy and simple. I don't like the rain date scheduling, but then again, that allows people to plan more strategically when they'll plan their block parties. Without the set of rules and regulations for this permit, people would apply all over at anytime which wouldn't be too structured.

A brief summary about this project. This project was pretty much me and my partners actin as if we are getting our learners permit, getting out license and getting out vehicle registered. The process for the project was for me and my partner Alexis to research online and find the learners permit application and vehicle registration and license. During this process it took us a very long time looking for the MV-1 form, we asked everyone looked everywhere online until we found gods little angles Ayanna and Donna who gave me and my partner the form. I don't think i would change anything about what we flow charted, everything is pretty straight forward. Why I think the system is complicated, well I guess to keep people from fraud but then again that happens pretty much everyday.
