My Home Network

Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network -

-All my L.A.N. are - 4 laptops, 2 TVs, 4 phones, 1 IPad, and 1 Play Station 3.

Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? If now write about what you learned.

-I kind of knew what was what because my sister tries to help me out and explain the things that I don’t know, but other then that nothing much really.

What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

-I would tell other people that they need to know where everything is and what is connected to what. Also how many devices they have in their home.

My home network

  • Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.                                 The devices on my internet connection include my phone and my computer.
  • Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.                                                                  What I learned about the network is that everything is connected to another, wifi doesn't just exist, it comes from somewhere.
  • What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?                       I would tell other people that they should be careful in choosing for a provider because a lot of providers can be sneaky. A person should research before choosing.

My Home Network

  • explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

1. There are a few devices in my home network. They include two iPhones, two androids, one laptop, one computer, and last but not least, the iPad.
  • reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if no, write about what you learned.

2. I was never aware of the different kinds of cords and I didn't even know what an ethernet was until I was assigned this assignment.
  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

3. In my opinion, you should be aware of what type of cord you have. Also you should know whether your network is wireless or not.

Shaheed's home network

My L.A.N. network is connected to my router which is provided by Xfinity. My router gets internet from the world wide web. Since my internet is wireless, the phones, computers, and the xbox one are connected to the router and gets internet from it. Connected to the router is the cable box with an ethernet cable. An ethernet cable connects the cable box and the smart tv. Bluetooth devices are connected to the phones, tv, and computers. I never realized that everything in my house is connected to a single router. What I would tell others about their home network, is to know what's connected. You never know when a hacker can ruin your life.

My Home Network

Mostly all my devices are connected to my router called Z1F13 and some are connected to my Apple T.V.

I learned that most of my electronic devices are connected to my router while some are connected to my Apple T.V. I didn’t know how many electronic devices that are in my house. I also didn’t know that most of the internet in my house take up so much space.

I would tell people that not all the time your internet will be high speed. Make sure you choose the right ISP for your home. Not all network work as fast as other networks, Some work slow while others work fast. Don’t assume that your internet work fast because most of the time it’s not.

My Tech Work

1) The devices on my LAN are my phone, my brothers ipod, my ipad, my mom's phone, my dad's phone and my two computers.

2) The one thing that I learned that was pretty crazy was packets on the internet. How anything that the internet receives and sends out are packets. Literally everything on the www is a packet.

3) One thing that people need to know about having a home network is security. Security is probably the most important thing. If you don't have good security then anyone with basic computer knowledge can latch onto your network.

My Home Network

I learned that one modem gives connection to all my devices in my home.  My modem is a phone jack and we always have a phone number.  The wifi gives connection to most of the things in my home.  I also learned that the placement of the modem doesn't give me good signal in my room because it doesn't travel through concrete walls very much.  My modem is a dull band modem, 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz.  I also didn't know that the coaxial cable gives my modem a signal and converts it to internet.

My Home Network

  • explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. I have numerous things connected to my internet connection such as 3 smartphones, 2 laptops, 2 smart t.v's, air purifier, cable box, and roku device #2.
  • reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned. I absolutely did have an omg moment. I had a handful but the one that really made my wheels spin was that if I use someone's wifi that they can actually see what I search! I searched how to make my mean family member feel comfortable, this means my cousins saw this! that's why they were asking all of those questions, lol.
  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?  BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SEARCH WHERE YOU SEARCH!

My Home Network

The world wide web leads into the router. The router does two things. It’s connected to the laptop by an ethernet cord and connected with five smart phones. The laptop is connected to a printer with a printer cable. That’s how my internet is used in my household.

I learned that my internet is connected to A LOT of things no wonder it’s slow at times.

If I could tell somebody about their home network I would tell them to really look at how your internet is connected and see is there anyways you can improve the speed of it?

My Home Network

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. I have the modem which receives the connection for my house. Then the modem sends out wireless signals for two different networks. I strategically have devices on the networks I would like them to be on for the best connection. Anything used primarily for streaming I put on one network, and anything else is on the other.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? I always thought that the internet was everything visible online, when its really made up of servers, computers, and modems etc.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network? Keep your modem as high as possible for the best connection.

My Home Network

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

My L.A.N consist of my homes apple devices, my gaming systems, and our computer.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.

I had an OMG moment when I really realized that once it’s on the internet even though you think it’s gone it’s never really gone.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

I would tell people BE CAREFUL what you post on the internet because you’ll never know who will see it.

My Home Network

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. The devices on my L.A.N is everyone phone in my house, the game systems in my house, The computer and laptops in my house, and my routers.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned. I learned how much stuff is on my internet and that was so shocking because as I map it out it’s a lot.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network? It will cause a lot on the bill but it makes everything easier.

Donny's home network

My house's ISP is Verizon Fios, my L.A.N is a Modem router that gets its data from a grey cat/10 wire. Everything connected to it by wires are my parent's computers that are wired to the router by ethernet cords and also the TV in the living room as well as the telephone I think but I don't know what kind of wire though. The things connected wirelessly include my laptops, my sister's laptops and our Iphones, and me and my mother's tablets. Learning about the network was a fun as I found the mini video about the network funny. I'm not that easy to make go OMG unless it's a very funny video or it's so dramatic in my opinion. I would say that when you get an ISP/Home network look up the real price then multiply the price by 12 to see how much money you'r using for wifi for a year.

My Home Network

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. -So I have Xfinity Comcast, so I have a coax cord and that is connected to a modem router. And then it is connected with all of my devices. And you can see it on the picture.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned. -I learned that there are different routers and different ISP have different cords. On OMG that it can be a lot to have a app, like he had to start all over a couple time, so he can have a better app.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network? -So I have Xfinity Comcast and the cord is a coax cord and it is connected to my modem router.

My Home Network

1. Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.
In my house the following devices use my family's wifi: 3 desktop computers, 4 laptops, 4 smart phones, 1 iPod, 1 Amazon Echo, and 1 Roku stick.

2. Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? If not write about what you learned.
I learned that the internet you use in your home is not as direct as I had thought. It has to travel from a far away land all the way to your modem, and then it is distributed to all the devices connected to that modem. I think that's really interesting.

3. What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?
Just be aware of where your internet comes from and be in control of your home network.

Ortiz home network

1.)  The things that are connected to my network, are three iphones, an ipad, a PS4 and PS3, my laptop, my moms laptop, and a printer. They are all connected wirelessly.
2.) The things that i learned about home networks were that the wire that connects to the modem impacts the speed. Also that the internet and wifi are two different things.
3.)That the internet and wifi are two different things because most people think they're the same thing.

Orlando network 2

My land area network name is verizon fios. I have a modem and a router togther in one box. Which gives my android phone wifi. My moms Iphone is connected to the wifi box which is the fios modem/ router to charge and gives her wifi. also i have an external wire which is connected to my amazon box which is also connected by an extension cord for my laptop. Also my xbox is connected to the extension cord which also has tv because my amazon box. The amazon box is also connected to my tv so i dont how to get fios tv with the wifi and spend more money. Finally my xbox is connected to my laptop so all my data and software goes to the laptop.

My Home Network

How I explained all my local area network or how all the devices on the internet connection is first all the internet materials are in my house. Next, the modem/router is plug in the wire. Then, the modem’s wire is plug in the optical network terminal box where it makes the internet, tv channels, and the movies from the tv works. Last, the modem’s lights will flash green which means it works now so we get the internet username and password from the modem to connect it to our phones like my iphone 5s, two laptops, my mom’s tablet, iphone 6s plus, a tv, my little brother’s laptop, iphone 5, my older sister’s iphone 6s plus, and my grandma’s tv.

What I learned something new is that the white verizon box I’ve seen for 3 years was actually called the optical network terminal and it’s actually the main and important network that makes the internet, tv channels, and the free movies from the tv works.

What I would tell about the other people having the ISP or the home network is that the verizon fios is the fast internet and it’s cheaper than the old internet I used to have.

Andrews Home Network

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.
My L.A.N. is all my devices connected to a fios router, which is connected by a fiber optic cord then goes to the world wide web.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.
What I learned was that the stuff you receive or send goes through an exploratory amount of distance and ect. to go to my computer or the receivers.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?
I would tell them it takes a lot of money. Also that you have to buy fios because they have fiber optic cables which means it goes the speed of light almost.
