Proyecto de Conversación - Post #2
I chose to speak to Maria because I am close with her so, she'd know I was not trying to offend her and she comes from a country that is less expressed in the Latino population of Philadelphia.
B. For both mini projects I just looked at all the places where there were no objects. Like with the cut out I looked at the back round for the negative space. For the stool drawing I just looked at where none of the chairs and signs were.
C. If an artist can see the negative space then they can make a picture look mirrored, reflective, upside down, etc. They can understand the picture better.
D. If you can see negative space you can understand the drawing better and be able to see hidden pictures as well if there are any.
Second Week:
Partners Name: Robert/ Mauro
City y Country: Peru/Buenos Aires
(The people on Livemocha would only talk to me a tiny bit.)
Who
you spoke with and why you chose that partner.
I
spoke with a man on Livemocha, he messaged me because he was learning English
and I am learning Spanish. Both men messaged me to talk so I just went with it.
What
did you learn about them? What did you learn from them?
I
learned Mauro lives in Buenos Aires, and Robert wants to learn to speak
English.
How
did this interaction help you move towards achieving your personal goals?
The
more I speak in Spanish the more comfortable I become, Mauro knew no English so
speaking to him forced me to only speak in Spanish. This was helpful but difficult and I found myself looking at word reference a lot
What
specifically did you do well according to your goals/expectations? What
specifically to you need to improve on? (Quote specific things you said or did
and what you would have done or said if you could do it again)
I spoke only in Spanish and tried to keep a basic conversation. This needs to change, these conversations are awkward at best and using Livemocha is harder then expected. I want to figure out how to hold just a basic conversation before I try and learn anything about their culture.
¿Qué déportes important en Mexico?
¿Haces deportes?
¿Qué deportes en muy grande en Mexico?
¿Haces ves fútbol?
¿Deportes es mucho importante en Mexico o arte es muy importante?
¿Deportes en las escuela?
What are you looking forward to about this conversation? What did you learn about them? What did you learn from them?
A negative space is not an actual picture. Negative spaces tell whats outside of an image. I found the negative space in my cut out by first cutting out all the pieces then placing and flipping them on construction paper. In the stool drawing, I found the stool drawing was harder then it looks. I found the negative space in the stool by trying not to draw the actual stools. This part of drawing the stool was hard. This helps an artist to see in a negative space because it tells them what outside parts of the picture, make the image. This does enhance drawings because it gets people's creative side out of them.

Negative
space is the space around and between the objects.
In my drawing, I found my negative space by
taking a look around the object and picture how it would look like with the negative
space cut out. Therefore, I use my imagination to figure my negative space for
