Benchmark- Math Short Story
My project is a short story about a girl named Emma’s new job at NASA. It goes through her very first rocketship trip into space. I used graphs and tables as well to help convey the algebra that I used in my story.

My benchmark is about two girls that want to become actresses together, but when that happens when they star in their new film together, some unfairness comes in and separates them apart. They eventually come back together and get justice for each other and film more movies together. This whole plot will also include slope equations with y-intercept plus tables and graphs to show my equation in different ways.
My notebook encouraged me to jot down my thoughts, which prompted me to ask myself new questions and participate more actively in group/class discussions. Over the progression of the quarter, I’ve greatly advanced my note-taking skills. However, in the future, I would like to include more symbols and colors.
My notebook has helped my learning experience in many ways. For instance, it keeps me engaged in the class conversations. Since I know I will have to refer back to my notes, it encourages me to write down everything. My notebook also keeps me organized. Additionally, it helps me when I’m doing my work because I can look back on information. Moving forward, I intend to make it even more organized and neat. I want to write even more down and improve on the quality of the notes.
My story about 3 sisters and their vastly different relationships with their mother. It explores questions like ‘How does family impact one’s identity?’ like the story this was inspired by, Far from the Tree by Robin Benway.
My story is about a father and two brothers who all play on the same basketball team. It shifts perspective and gives detail on each of their lives. in the same way Far from the Tree is about family and siblings.
My notebook has helped me a lot in Q1. It has helped me remember things. I don’t have the best memory, but my notebook has helped me with that. Also my notebook has helped me participate more than I used to. I like to share my ideas with the class, and also my peers. So it’s helped me and my communication skills. In the future, I plan on writing anything and almost everything because 1, you may not know what you need, and 2, your notebook is a reliable source for studying and also work.

My notebook has been a way for me to write down my thoughts about prompts that I hadn’t thought about before, and from that arose new knowledge about myself. I was able to learn about myself and my class in the way that others show their thinking in discussions.
I learned how to make my notes better, even though I’m still working on my goals set in quarter 1, but throughout the first few weeks, I’ve come up with better organization systems and a list of different ways to take notes for future quarters.
Here is my video, however, Google Drive makes the quality bad and unreadable.
For my project it’s ironic because superheroes need help, and they lose their powers and need to find a cure while fighting. I reflected on my graphs a lot because they seemed off to me but it ended up turning out great.
This story is about superheroes who use math to save Philadelphia.
This is my Q1 Benchmark for Algebra. It is about a boy named Jamie who struggles with money problems.
