THenry 3rd Quarter
The drawings that I had to do for the third quarter were more difficult when I had to do them on a larger scale. I am used to drawing on paper that is 8x11 or smaller. The drawings that I like best are the one of my hand and the still life. I like the drawing of my hand because I felt more in control while I was drawing it, and it was on a scale that I was used to. The still life drawing was also something that I was more familiar with. I've done still life's in other art classes, so I knew what to expect as far as perspective and scale. The things that gave me the most trouble were working with charcoal and the 24x36 drawings. Charcoal is much messier than pencil, and it is harder to erase. Even when I did get some of it erased there were marks left on the paper. The fact that it didn't erase as cleanly as pencil became frustrating. I didn't mind doing a drawing a week, especially since I did something similar during the second quarter.

Gait Into A Stanger's World*
He walked with a slight limp in his right leg.
There had been a boy in his elementary school class who had dared him to jump over the school's fence and confront the crazed madman's whose property rested on the other side. Invigorated by the prospect of heroism and school-wide acclaim for encountering what most were almost certain was a wizard, he undertook the dare with a suspicious amount of eagerness that caused the classmate to doubt the severity of his choice. The aspiring hero then climbed up the fence with ease and sat at the top, preparing himself for the battle to come. Sure of his noble purpose, he jumped down from the fence realizing only a moment before touching the ground that the fence was much to high to be dismounted in this fashion. He should have climbed down. The next moment he reached the ground and felt the effects of this lack of foresight. He had broken his ankle. Now, some forty years later, the limp remains from that childhood accident. Now, some forty years later, he looks both ways twice before crossing a street. Now, some forty years later, he quietly tells disheartened children that being a knight is not for everyone. Selling insurance can be just as fun. Now, some forty years later, a girl is walking onto the train behind him wondering how he got that limp. Wondering if it had been the result of something heroic. Something bold.
*The title is so wonderfully cheesy. Please take a moment to frown and lament at the humor.

Benchmark Reflection!
For my benchmark, I chose to compare New Zealand and Brazil. In order to fulfill the requirements of the project, I needed to research each of the five provided components of collapsibility for both countries, assign a score, and give my reasoning. I chose to research the five points for each country individually, focusing my investigation on one nation at any given time. I found this approach terribly helpful, particularly in the initial stagesl because it allowed me to acquaint myself with the country while also providing me the opportunity to throw in fun, relevant tidbits I happened upon while looking the nation.
While completing my benchmark, one thing I found wonderfully helpful was the five point framework. It created a relatively open structure around which to build my project. It was just grand! However, I cannot highlight only the good things… there are things I would have liked to change about my project, namely its submission time. I once again turned in this benchmark late which I find has sullied the whole process for me. I wish, if given an opportunity to do this project again, I would have the good sense to finish it on time.

Cant Be Friends.
Tasha and Henry ended their love on a bad note. Henry knew
that they weren’t perfect but he refused to not believe that he made their
world and he didn’t understand how she couldn’t notice. Maybe she was just in
denial because she was used to losing. Putting Henry through grief was her answer
to it. There were nights when he would just put on his vans and take a walk to
cool it. Tasha was like a test and Henry was the student that couldn’t pass it.
He tried his best plenty of times but he could never get the right solutions.
It was also one thing after another one. Henry remembered times when his mom
told him that he was too young. He responded by saying, “Well what that mean?”
He took a chance on the game of love and now it’s never ending. Steady forever
chasing that first feeling. It was like he was forever on the quest for a
women’s treasure that she kept hidden. When Henry and Tasha broke up, he vowed
to find love even if it killed him. He could run into it any day. One day Henry
was in the house about to lie down. Henry sat on his bed forgetting that his
phone was in his back pocket. His iPhone accidentally called Tasha. They both
said hello, then there was a silent moment. “Man I been missing you, and I know
you miss me too” said Henry. Tasha sighed then replied, “I thought we would be
together until the end, and this is the end. We can’t be friends anymore.” Then
she hung up the phone. Henry, still on the other end of the line sat with his
jaw dropped and all he could say was “Damn.”
Shadowing At Watermark.
This weekend I shadowed an employee and my potential future
job, Watermark. Watermark is a retirement home. My job is to be a waiter. I
shadowed a female employee named Tyanna. She was very nice and she showed me
the ins and outs of the job and everything that I would be expected to do. The
other employees were nice as well. They were very informative schooled me on
how to be the best employee I can be while putting my own style to the way I
work. I stayed there for two hours following Tyanna around observing the way
she worked and asking various questions. I also got the chance to talk to
Amira, who actually put me on the job and gave me the application. All in all,
I had a good time and learned a lot of thing and met some interesting old
people. On Monday, I have to call Watermark back and ask to schedule for my
PDD’s (physical). After that’s complete, they’ll schedule me to train. When my
week of training is up, they will make the decision to keep me or not. I hope
everything can turn out in my favor. This job is very good look, and even
though it looks like there is a lot of work that you have to put into the job,
I look forward to doing it.
Friday Night.
I had a good time at Laurn’s party on Friday night. There
were a lot of people there. People from SLA, Temple, and other people that I
didn’t know attended the party. All in all I didn’t get into the house until
4:00 in the morning, so that pretty much sums up the night that I had. Good
times, goooddd timmmesss.

Bibliography included.
The countries I chose were from two regions, Central America and East Asia. I picked these countries in order to learn more about them and their structure. The five point framework was quite simple but finding the 'correct' information was the challenge. There was not a hard part of the framework for me to look up. The only problem I had was trying to find out a way to present it. If I could do anything differently, I would have finished it earlier in order to get pointers on what to improve.

Globalization 3Q Benchmark: Collapsing Knowledge
This is my benchmark!
The two countries that I selected to compare and contrast were Iceland and Chile. My main reasons behind selecting these countries was I had an interest in the two countries. I didn't know much about the two and I wanted to see how they compare to each other. My process during this project was a little poor. I wasn't aware that we had a benchmark coming up due to the fact that I was out sick during the time it was due. I found out a day before the project was due that we actually had one. So if I could change one thing I would change how I communicated with Ms. Laufenberg. I shouldn't have emailed her and told her that I was going to be out for a week and asked if we were going to be assigned any projects. One of the most challenging parts of the project was locating information on the environmental damage and how both countries are trying to fix the problem.

In another world
I don't know how or why, but I missed stories 3 days in a row.
Today someone was calling at me for a good 30 seconds, and their voice just did not register. It was awkward apologizing and not have a reason.

I'm at the point wher ei'm quite unsure if i will pass calculus. i'm kind of sad now.
Saturday
I helped my sister make food and take orders at her house party last night. It made me feel like a chef at a fast paced restaurant.

It's never a dull moment when we are together :)
Sick
So I was pretty sick on Thursday and Friday which is the reason why I was not in school those days for anyone who is interested. I am sure that literally no one cares or probably even noticed that I was no in school, but I figured I might as well make it known some where and tell the story of my sickness here. So I came up with some sort of virus but it was not the usual virus. My skin was heated up but I did not have a high fever. It felt like I was burning up but in reality everything seemed fine. I was getting light headed at some times and then my head felt like a rock, dropping like one too. It was really weird and I was about to go to the emergency room but as soon as the thought came to my head I felt better again. Then after some nice rest I felt fine during the night, slept well, wake up and it starts all over again. I felt like this for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Today I felt better. It was really weird. Meh.

3rd MArking perion Advanced Art 2
For this marking period are art class became more structured. Instead of our normal on big art project we were acted to do a couple of different task such as, still life drawings, self portraits, clear figure drawling and more. When first learning how to draw real life figures I want to good at it because it wasn't something I was used to. But as the period progressed I began to get better and you can notice that in my work as well. This picture of mine that I like the most is the still life. I feel like I took the most time on it and it really captured what it would look like in real life. Below are pictures of my art work.
INSPIRED BY ART HISTORY - WE STAND ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS
For our last project of the marking period we were asked to do something involving art history.Whether it be inspired by a artist or a style of art we had to create something that could represent it. We were given a varity of choices as to how we are going to present and I chose to pick 3-6 pieces from art history and create a 6 hour drawing that reflects the inspiration and the theme of spring. And the artist I was inspired by was Vincent Van Gogh. When looking through his paintings I noticed a lot of flowers and art work that reminded me of spring. So I decided to do my own painting of flowers inspired by 3 different pieces of Vabn Gogh's work. Below are his paintings that inspired me and mine as well.
Dodge
I had my music on blast, crossing the street listening to Wale. I was trapped into the lyrics. The music had me in my own little world. Nothing around me seemed real and then I heard a loud horn. A Chrysler 300 was coming at me. I didn't know what to do but stand back. As i jumped backwards the Chrysler swerved in front of me hitting the Dodge Charger in the lane with traffic going the opposite direction. The impact was intense having my ears ringing after the accident.
